Kudos, lol :p

I do agree with most of it, don't get me wrong.

The only problem with this is that he is one of the most experienced sonic players you will literally find (and by that, i mean since august, we had done weekly tournies, and quite a few bi weekly/saturday tournies as well) i used to trash his marth till he got so upset he went matchup crazy and learned some of the "holes" so to speak.

I used to try the edge game, but D3 outranges, out priorities, and can outcamp Sonic too well imo. Not to say that i don't try it, but one hit either hits me offstage (bad, im getting camped for pretty much free damage) or in the air (can be bad, no room to space out/mindgame a landing spot is camped cg/dmg regardless)

Si nce D3 grab outranges even Sonic's Ftilt, and he has many moves more than the range, and that are faster, i would be too heavily reliant on power shielding, and in a bad postion.

As you noticed, it was close on quite a few matches. The last set we played ended up going to R3 in my favor, but the cg single handedly broke the match, as it did in this set too....

Edit: The last set in the last tourny we played, already on the thread

I remember watching this. Umby's cool ;D

Reflex plays a mean Lucas.

We played so bad, he thought these were friendlies.

Norfair shenanigans. I think I get kneed out of spinshot or side-B or something again at some point.

At one point I do a B-air > LOLNOKO,LAVA > F-smash kill or something ******** like that.

Also experimented with jump forward > retreat DJ U-air and tons of U-air stupidity.
I've never really played Norfair much. It's fun >_>

Oh yeah, I fail hard at spacing an F-smash to camp ledge actions, lol. I set him up for a ledge F-smash like 2-3 times in a row and I missed all the F-smashes due to being too far.

Tenki, I'm not gonna lie to you. I always expected your Sonic to be more ****.
I think he might've been off, but that moment...that's some serious steak right there.

Considering ROB's seem to be a character we can actually land multi-hit ASC's on...... that's super-special-awesome.

people dont seem to understand that that doesnt make tenki a good player...

sean invented the most broken move in brawl (IDCape) but when was the last time you saw him win a tournament?

I never said that Tenki didnt make me better, but all the research he does doesnt matter if he cant implement it in the game. Therefore, he is bad.

lol yeass

I was hoping someone'd find a use for the ROB aerial footstool.

I was testing aerial footstools on ROB last week and found you can U-air ROB as soon as you footstool him, and also noticed that weird falling offset.

niiiice.

Kid's a meanie. who taught you how to ASC?
hint: it wasn't sakurai.
I think dNES had a vid or so a while ago, and I noticed he was jumping from platforms on battlefield and doing spindashes, and realized he wasn't doing the hop. I started messing around with it and found out he was doing an aerial down-B.

and one day I shielded.

lol

but really, it's true. I suck, but I just try to find small possibly-useful bits of information, while sounding like I know what I'm talking about. I'll imply ideas into your heads and maybe someone will either get really good at it or find a new use for things.

At the moment, I rarely play, so I've fallen WAAAAY out of the loop when it comes to gameplay, and I'm really unfamiliar with player habits, so I've reverted to just being a researcher of sorts again lol.

Wes has a nice Sonic. Good to see that he's knowledgable on most of the spin shenanigans one can do.

However, is it just me, or does he seem to play a little...sluggish?
It seems as though his momentum constantly shuts down halfway through a follow up or approach, and his movement seems jerky and hesitant.

Either way though, those were some fun matches to watch, and I'll add them sometime this weekend.

I like that. Keeps Sonic tricksy and unpredictable :)

i cant watch your vids right now, but i have my people working on it as we speak, i apologise beforehand for any forthcoming douchebaggery adn I hope you look past that to see the knowledge that the lovely folks here at the sonic boards drop on you...

edit: i watched the snake halberd vid, and i have to say very well done on your part, you were juggling snake like a GD pro. you kept him above you as much as possible, and you made very good use of up smash, tilt and air.

you definitely know the matchup.

and you punished spotdodges very well with down smash.

however, your defensive game is a bit sketchy, you shouldnt spotdodge or roll against most of the top tier characters, they all have stupid good methods to punish it, and there were points near the end where you started fishing for kill moves and you got hasty and ran into stuff like up tilt to falling mortar combos and such. all in all, id say just work on your defensive game, but i can only glean so much from only one vid, but i can say im impressed.

just looked, and your west coast too? dang, good shiz son

like KID, I was prepared to apologize for forthcoming harshness... then was pleasantly surprised that you're a decent Sonic!

I only watched that first Lucas match. You used smashes way too much at the beginning, but cooled it down later on. Your SDJ > Dair edgeguard got predictable; it can be effective against Lucas, but you have to be real careful about the timing/spacing. Mix it up with other things, like VSDJ > Bair zoning, or other stuff. Remember that with Lucas, we have a grab-release > Ftilt guaranteed; dash-grab isn't.

i definitely lots of potential in your sonic, and i think you could do pretty well in tourneys, as long as you know all the other matchups as well as the snake/lucas matchups.

i left you comments to improve on most of the vids.

@arikie: you don't have to stop all movement just because you are near a grenade. Sonic has one of the best glide tosses in the game. plus, if you know how long it takes before it blows up, then oyu can take advantage of those projectiles. in addition, some of sonics moves have small enough hitboxes that you can attack snake and get away without falling prey to his grenade counters. sittling still shielding next to a nade three seconds before it explodes shows that you have a lot more work to do concerning this.

Thanks for the advice, sometimes I just lose track of the timing of his grenades, or I think he is going to use an AT too force me too drop it just as I grab one. If he has both nades out of hand then I don't think he can force me too drop one.

I didn't know I could use certain moves too hit snake even though he was holding a grenade, I'll try that.
