So I started playing Guilty Gear XX #Reload today. Pretty fun.

Not cool how I go through the characters and pick out Chipp because he's fast and I thought he was cool and then I figure he's bottom tier.

Also not cool how I choose Johnny after fiddling around some more and he's bottom tier in GG AC.

Just a friendly reminder to all of you. This really isn't a thread where you can just spam and whatever. It's a general discussion. As long as things do not go out of hand, I think this thread can stay.

I read an article from Metroid Database about the history of Samus, and I thought it was interesting. In the original Metroid for the NES, when you got the Varia Suit, the color of your suit changed. However, in Metroid 2: The Return of Samus, this was not possible, so to tell the difference between the Power Suit and Varia Suit was by making Samus' appearance different when she acquired the Power Suit. I thought that was interesting. It may or may not be true, though. I don't see why they couldn't darken or lighten her suit. I could be wrong.

As a fellow samus main and after playing MANY GOOD metaknight mains. M two k/dojo/infinty/tyrant/d4ba. I am here to tell you that AS a WHOLE samus cannot beat metaknight. I know some of you may beat lesser metas(heck i know i have) but once you get into AMAZING metaknight players.....samus loses it BADLY. I ask all of you vote to BAN metaknight. I dont know if any of you have been to a meta free event but it is the ABSOLUTE best event possible.

Here is only a small section of why i think there is a problem withmetaknight.





The fact that n00b people can switch to metaknight and automaticly place better shows there is a problem.

The fact that people who main meta cant be counter picked(by char or stage) shows that there is a problem.

The fact that a PRO/well known player can lose with his main and switch to metaknight to win a match that determines who gets 4th place shows that there is a problem(refering to lee martin vs co18 at world hobo).

Dominates MOST medium-large scale events(hobo11/cot4/c4 galore/vg boot camp/world hobo) shows there is a problem

5 jumps+glide+4 recovery options(all B moves) shows that there is a problem

2nd Fastest start to finish down smash in the game which has good KO power shows that there is a problem

Most of his attacks come out fast and end fast when compared to the rest of the cast shows there is a problem

increased meta dittos in the top 12 placings leads me to believe that metaknight is the present and the future and that shows there is a problem.

2-3 frame u-air that can be comboed into tornado or UP+B for low as gimp kills that works on 90% of the cast shows there is a problem.

Invinvible UP+B (from ground), tilt locks and wall locks added to this ALREADY amazing character shows there is a problem

DECIMATES over half the cast and only goes "even" on a bad day with only a handful of characters shows there is a problem.

Tornado that eats thru nearly all attacks shows that there is a problem

A ledge stalling tech that is UN-PUNISHABLE if done right( i have serveral quotes from m2k on this) shows that there is a problem.

ABSOLUTE AWESOME priority(transcending) which means it doesnt clank, it simply goes through most attacks and this shows there is a problem

It'd be nice to see some characters who aren't normally seen to actually be a bit higher. This is why I like you WHOBO guys. You have had some tournaments without Meta Knight, at least I think that's what you guys have done before.

yes. hobo 12 was a non meta event. In texas it was considered the 2nd best event of all time(only falling to world hobo: raves/half naked women ftw)

I am also having hobo 16 may 2nd and it will also be meta banned. i need the data.

lol hobo does have really good sense when it comes to mk and infinites, and stalling. ^^
i'm still not sure if i'd ban metaknight though... he does win a lot, but I'm still debating with it I can't lie though lol it would help me out if he were out though ^^ But then again he isn't really undefeatable, a few I would even argue are even. But then again he makes a lot of people drop there characters and pick him. But it also might hurt the community.... I really have no idea. i guess there are a lot of factors ^^ I'll probably say not sure or no though until i am decisive though. ^^

You know, when I first played Metroid for the NES, I hated it so badly. I said, "If I had not first played Super Metroid, I would've probably hated Metroid." Eventually, I began to build a map in my mind to help me get around the areas. When you get to Kraid, you're going to hate him. And just for a heads-up, there are two Kraids in that one. A baby Kraid, as fans call it, and the actual boss. I've completed the game already. I'm playing Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the most under-rated Prime game. Anyway, get Super Metroid on your Wii. It's fun, and you'll enjoy it, I'm sure.

Metroid is nothing like Megaman. Metroid is about a woman in armor who takes down Space Pirates and other threats in the galaxy. Also, Metroid is just one big area to explore and backtrack on. Megaman is not. I like all the Metroid games, but if I had to put them in order, I guess I'd list them as follows.

• Console
  • Super Metroid
  • Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
  • Metroid Prime
  • Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
  • Metroid

• Hand-Held
  • Metroid: Zero Mission
  • Metroid 2: The Return of Samus
  • Metroid Fusion

I haven't played Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt, so I can't judge if I'd like it better than one of the others or not.

Just get it on your Virtual Console. Unless you have a PS2 controller that you can use to play Super Metroid. It's somewhat of a pain to use your keyboard to play it, though it's not impossible to beat. Super Metroid is just simply the best Metroid game ever.

Oo sorry you guys are talking about Metroid games. I LOVE Metroid games, it's like almost one of my favourite series I can't decide if Mario, Legend of Zelda, or Metroid is better.

Firstly, I've only played a little bit of Metroid, or Super Metroid ( I want to buy them on VC cause Metroid Prime series really me liked the series.)

Before I played Prime I didn't like Samus games because I didn't like them (wow bad mistake!) then I got Prime and I fell in love with the series.

Anyways I've played all 3 Primes and loved them all. I think 3 is the best imo. Also I played Metroid Hunters on the DS, it wasn't BAD I guess the storyline was just 'meh' and I wanted to play a 2-D one. And I was TRASH at that game online.

TL;DR: Metroid is amazing, and I need FC's for Metroid Prime 3, I want to buy all the artwork/ship upgrades! PM me if your willing to give me friend tokens, I'll trade back ^_^.
