I know they stale. They staled on melee, and they staled on 64, but not as drastically. And actually, no, to my recollection, I only used fsmashes that hit when they were practically tippers. Fro can confirm or deny if I did, because I coulda swore that other than a few times where I hit him near hilt, I almost always hit a tipper or near typical, and I think I refreshed em quite often with DB. But then again, His last 2 stock I really don't remember. All I can remember of the match is the last stock on both of us. The rest is kind of a blur. Ah well, it was still a nice heat of the moment thing, even if I don't remember it (also another reason I want replay T_T)
EDIT: Then again, only his first stock was where the fsmash issues arrived...1st and end of 3rd because he was too high to be able to combo any of my other attacks, DB included (except maybe neutral) but fsmash wasn't killing him >.<

Percent damage stales in Melee, not knockback.

Actually, it was tested. Knockback IS staled in melee. It's not nearly as drastic nor noticeable from 1st to 3rd repeated hit as it is in brawl, but after a bit, it's most definitely a difference.

And yes, I know that. I also know the animation and length required for a tipper, and I know that both me and fro stated him surviving repeated TIPPERS. There's a slight bit of hitstun if marth tips in brawl, similar to the knee or the heel, but not nearly as long (in comparison). IIRC, The sound from melee is still also in there in a form. Now you're right. Maybe one or two of em aren't tippers....But I'm pretty sure fro's been a lot more active recently than I have, and he definitely knows more bout brawl comp than I do considering the length at which I've been out of the scene. However, he called them tippers, they were very like tippers to me (hitstun and the length) so...maybe we're both wrong. Maybe we're wrong half the time. All I know is, both me and him saw his mario survive some tippers at 140-160%. IF I am wrong, if and/or when I ever get to see the replay, I will most certainly admit my wrongness (sounds so...wrong hur dur). However, until then, I'm going to carry on with my beliefs, and if you so choose, you can choose to believe that I (And if you want to say fro's wrong bout the tippers too, him as well) am wrong.

and it's quite disconcerting that you care so much about this

you need to find some other sort of distraction/occupation within your life that doesn't include speculating about whether a hit was a tipper or not/why a hit didn't kill...in a friendly...against a MARIO. (for the record fro your mario is solid, you're not taking any games off of me in MMs as mario though ;p)

furthermore, marth has plenty of ways to kill other than fsmash/db/etc. be more creative. mario dies to marth edgeguarding him, tipper nairs or airdodge traps in general

i don't really care about you talking/thinking about smash but ffs do it in a manner that's productive and conducive towards your improvement as a player/member of the community

....Did I say fsmash was the only way I attempted to kill him? No, I just said he survived every tipped fsmash I did connect. Stop assuming things. And the only reason this started was a miscommunication/misunderstanding about my statement and people thinking I meant planking, and it escalated from there. But w/e, it's dropped. I didn't even want to bring it up as a point of argue but it happened, it's past, and now hopefully we can all drop it.

EDIT: Edited because I responded in a slight tithe of anger from various issues cropping up today. I apologize if I've seemed rather...angry in today's posts. Been dealin with a bit o stuff, and things just kinda escalated...
