This deserves another post. Here's the new schedule I've worked out. Tell me if this is at all unreasonable, or any objections you have. I think it should work out, so long as people are willing to get there early. This is our only alternative to running events side-by-side, so if this schedule is impossible, we're going to have to go back to the other one which involved running Melee and Brawl events at the same time. Time constraints are difficult here, considering we only have one day. I mean, I'd love to rent the venue out on sunday too, but I didn't think it would be this big, and it's short notice at this point anyway, so we've got to make do with this.

We have the venue for 14 hours, making this the longest 1-day venue tournament probably ever. I'm sure we'll be able to fit things in. On that note, this is shaping up to be one of the biggest 1-day tournaments. Next time I'm gonna have to do an all-weekend thing in a MUCH bigger venue XD. Anyway, I know this schedule might look optimistic, but we're improving on all our faults last time, so we're going to try our best to get this done.

-10:00: Setup/Friendlies. Don't come at 10:00 expecting to play immediately.
-10:50: Brawl Singles signups begin.
-11:00: Signups end, Singles pools begin. During this time, Melee players may play friendlies or money matches on spare TVs. However, we will need as many TVs as there are Brawl setups.
-01:00: By this time, I expect Brawl pools should be finished. There aren't that many Brawlers this time around, so I don't expect it to take too long. If it ends earlier than this, then we'll start other things early.
-01:05: We will need some time to go over the data from pools and create brackets. At this time, a seeded 32-man bracket will be created.
-03:00: Brawl singles brackets SHOULD be done by now. We will start doubles signups before this. At this point, the doubles brackets will begin. Basically whenever brackets end.
-04:40: Melee Singles signups begin. We'll need time to create the pools.
-05:00: Brawl doubles brackets should be finished by this point, so we will need to switch the setups and start Melee singles right away. During this time, Brawlers may play friendlies, since there will be no more Brawl events for the evening.
-07:10: Melee pools should be finished by now, so long as people are punctual and play their matches. At this point, we will create a seeded 32-man bracket.
-07:20: Melee singles brackets will begin.
-09:20: Brackets should be finished by now, so we will start doubles signups immediately, and create a seeded bracket. Pools takes too long, sorry.
-09:30: Melee doubles brackets will begin.
-11:00: Doubles should be finished. I'm leaving some time for things to run overboard, but it should be fine. If absolutely necessary, the last few matches can be finished at my house. However, I don't imagine everything can take too long.
-11:45: At this point, I'd like to ask everyone to lend a hand in cleaning the place up. Even 5 minutes would be a huge help. Things that would need to be done: putting away tables and setups, carrying TVs to cars or whatever, and vacuuming/mopping necessary parts, but I'll probably take care of those two. We have to be out of the venue at midnight.
-12:00 - ?: Smashfest/funtimes at my house! Which is like a minute away from the venue. Feel free to bring setups (I will only have 3 TVs that can be used for playing; I have a big LCD one but it lags). Be aware that I have cats and dogs, so if you don't like them then take necessary precautions. We will have food. Anyone can come. My house is smallish though, so I can't have everyone going.

lol dude, don't worry; I know you've been around a lot longer than me. You're one of the people I'd take advice from gladly. Besides, it's a good suggestion. thanks for pointing that out. I'll edit that post and leave it up so people can look at it.

I also believe you should give more than 10 minutes for registration, just start the registration earlier so you don't have to push back start times. It gives people more of an incentive to show up earlier/on time.

I dunno, we've done it before with 80-90 people and had quite a bit of time to spare (without pools). We're doing it with pools this time though. If it seems like it's taking too long for the initial tourney, brawl singles, doubles or whatever, we could just cut pools for everything else.
