LEGO Mario

L.jpg

This character is perfect to promote to showcase the new era of Mario getting more and more into licensed collaborations. His hook is that he has a collecting themed gimmick where he will have a move where he can step on opponents to collect coins. The coins allow his stats to buff. Also, he can build courses and put the other fighters as the enemies he steps on as a trapping themed gimmick as well.

This has to be the weirdest character I’ve ever submitted…

Snake Block slithers into action!

It’s an ally contact! I can submit it! Shut up!

…anyways…

Snake Block’s hook, aside from… ya know… being Snake Block, is that it usually appears as a single block, but stretches into more for its movement and attack animations. This creates a unique take on the concept of a serpentine fighter. Also, as a second hook (if we’d all like) I think it would be neat if Snake Block would appear in 16-Bit sprite form at all times.

Please vote here for the conquest

Vivian

Vivian's hook is her tail. Her tail is permanently fixed to the nearest ground, and stretches as she jumps - it'll snap back to her when she's hit or uses her up special. Her tail serves a super-armoured wall, and her down air will lock in on a foe or projectile to "kick" them, making her a great choice for dealing with campy opponents and protecting your teammate in team battles.

My conquest submission is Goku (Mario, Super Saiyan Goku wig) vs. Vegeta (Wario, Ultra Instinct Vegeta wig)

King Boo

One of the biggest fan requests left out of our base roster. His hook would be his intangibletly. He'd be able to do this for a short time, could act almost as a counter. I also think it would be neat if he was kind of see through.
Character: Stanley The Bugman
View attachment 359326

The Player Character of Donkey Kong 3, one time rival to Cranky, and lost brother (cousin? uncle?) to Mario (probably). Stanley's Gimmick is a Cel-shaded type graphic look which gives him the appearance of a fully animated version of his artwork on the arcade machine.

Conquest
Gonna pull a Splatfest and submit SpongeBob (Mario) Vs. Patrick
(Wario).
The winning team will obtain either a Fry Cook hat for SpongeBob, or a Goofy Goober's Hat for Patrick.
LEGO Mario

Vivian hat: Marilyn hat and wig

Victory theme: A remix of Paper Mario 64's victory theme with instrumentation akin to the Victory without Partner theme from TTYD (though it is in a major key and therefore lacks the clumsy sound to it, more curious if anything.)

Moveset
Vivian is an upper-lightweight fighter with weak moves but excellent mobility and defense. She has no real preferance between air or ground, and her special moves make it a lot easier for her to balance out air play and ground play
  • Up B: Spectral Snap - Vivian snaps her tail up her body, shocking her a little and thus creating a short whole-body hitbox. This doesn't raise her up or leave her helpless, but it makes her fall slower and move in the air faster at the expense of her tail wall and Down Special. She has a unique down air that resembles Mario's fair in this state.
  • Side B: Fire Flash - Vivian engulfs herself in flames and homes in on a foe, this temporarily gets rid of her tail, but unless Spectral Snap is used it'll come back. If a foe isn't in range, Vivian will go slightly upwards, so if you want a foe on the other side of you but still want to land with your tail, this is a good option
  • B: Flame Jinx - Vivian casts a fire spell, which will give a foe continual damage like a Lip's Stick. Similarly to Sephiroth's side B, this isn't a projectile. That being said, while your foe gets the flame, you get the jinx - Vivian is slowed down when she makes a flame jinx, so it's not advised to keep one on your foes at all times.
  • Down B: Jumpscare/Plunge - On the ground, Vivian hides in the shadows - this is a bit like Nigel's neutral B in NASB, but lasts a little longer - however, Vivian will always end this move with a jumpscare attack, so you'll want to avoid using it against foes with counters or other good ways to punish failed moves. In the air, Vivian snaps back to the ground without an attack but with heavy endlag, making it similarly punishable. If Spectral Snap has been used, there is no Down B and instead the input causes that move's specific down air.

Final Smash: Bygones and Begones
Vivian summons Marilyn and Beldam, who make a PSI Starstorm esque trio attack of thunder, ice, and fire, the sisters watching the light show as Marilyn gives her sisters a big ol hug.

Victories

  3. Marilyn and Beldam appear to congratulate Vivian, she has her doubts at first but quickly realises they're sincere

  5. Clapping: Vivian lies on the floor in shame

Submit a new piece of content for Twilight Town!

Please submit some form of modification or new content for the Twilight Town stage! Note that this cannot directly change the gameplay of the stage, but you can add an extra alternate version if you desire to change gameplay.

Submit 20 pieces of cosmetics based on Capcom properties!

Source, by Cheekysoup4u
Please submit 20 pieces of cosmetic content based on Capcom properties! Nothing is off-limits (within the age rating at least), but if you want to do just/mostly Street Fighter or whatever that's fine too. The hat-to-trail-to-pattern distribution is also up to you.

Submit a new stage and 1 song!
This will be released alongside Vivian, but not bundled with her - so go crazy! Check the front page to see which songs are already in the game and therefore not usable, though if you can find a good remix you will be able to use that if the original is already there.

New Stage: Boss Stage (Treetops)(Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat)

A kind of weird choice, but I think it could be really cool. A large branch serves as the main, platform, while smaller branches act as temporary platforms which sway and break with too much activity. Fireflies fill the lush area, and Helper monkeys spectate from the background. Overall, I think it would look very atmospheric and would be awesome with the jungle beat soundtrack. Speaking of.....

New Music submission: VS. Tusk
Would be more appropriate to have one of the Kong boss themes, no? Unfortunately, all of the Kong bosses each have a varied drum loop as their main boss theme, and I would find that repetitive in a smash-length round. Instead, I will submit one of the better boss themes from the game.

okay so the subs for the twilight town thing and the capcom stuff? way better than what i had in mind but, as for a new stage, hmm... okay, feel free to tell me if this isn't allowed, but:

Stage Name: Luigi's Casino
Stage Origin: Super Mario 64 DS (21st November, 2004)

An interpretation of the casino that Luigi seems to run in both Super Mario 64 DS and New Super Mario Bros. (in which Luigi runs various card and casino themed minigames), I think this would be quite a unique inclusion as a stage. Fighters would fight on the table itself, disturbing cards and poker chips strewn across it whilst Luigi, in his casino attire, attends to a game going on at another table in the background. Not to mention, various Toads in semi-formal attire are going around with drinks, and various minor characters such as minor enemies are present. In terms of gameplay, you'd be able to be launched through the walls in a similar way to Smash's Mishima Dojo. (Notably, Luigi is absent if he's actually being played as at all.) I'd also like to take this opportunity to suggest that whilst it would represent these minigames, you could also represent various Mario arcade or casino-based titles, such as the officially licensed Donkey Kong slot machine or perhaps the Super Mario World pinball machine, by having them present within the casino! After all, it'd be a fun opportunity to see some of Mario's more... interesting history here, right?

As for the music for this stage, I'm going to suggest the Luigi's Casino theme from New Super Mario Bros., which is just directly pulled from there. However, there's a bit of ambience in the stage that comes from the chatter and conversation as well as the various machines present.

To play devil’s advocate for a moment, I think the stage could work with some minor retooling (swapping out the gambling machines for something resembling them less). I think the problem regarding age ratings comes from simulated gambling itself rather than casino theming, but I’m throwing the retexture idea out there to play it safe.

Everything here is a hard platform, the red instead represents the branches that can potentially grow. Only one branch will be out at a time. Branches are hard platforms but break upon being stood on, attacked, or banged against too many times.

Fighter sub: Rambi

Rambi's hook is his resiliance to grabs. Rambi can only be grabbed, regular or command, if he is in shield - however, if you do manage to get your hands on him the throw moves will be extra strong and unmashable, though his shield is the most resistant to non-grab attacks (Peasley's shield breaker would struggle to make a dent in it)

Character Name: Count Cannoli (and Goodstyle!)
Character Origin: Wario: Master of Disguise (2007)

So, this is sort of a development of a concept from Master of Disguise, in that Goodstyle (the magical staff that Wario steals and allows him to change form in the game) originally belonged to Count Cannoli. Turns out, Goodstyle actually ends up back in Cannoli's hands by the end of the game, because Wario's "Telmet" didn't let him take the treasure with him, so hell yeah!

In terms of a moveset, Cannoli's focus here would be on, uh... disguises. Specifically, Goodstyle is used in Master of Disguise in order to have Wario take different forms, such as Thief Wario, Genius Wario, and Wicked Wario - so I'd like to suggest that Goodstyle does the same for Cannoli, though with the designs being changed just a little in order to be more fitting. As opposed to having a moveset based on some bizarre stance change style, though, Cannoli rapidly switches between disguises for different effects that may be beneficial for him (a little like how Ben Tennyson switches between aliens in Punch Time Explosion but like, good?) For instance, his grab would have him become "Genius Cannoli", firing out an Ultra Hand to grab opponents and drag them back. Not only this, but Cannoli's Final Smash brings the Mad Hat MK.III out to play!

This overall makes Cannoli a sort of jack-of-all-trades in terms of his moveset, though on the heavier side. It's also a cool representation of an interesting part of the Wario series - such as his various transformations across the series - as well as representing Wario: Master of Disguise, because who wouldn't want to represent Wario: Master of Disguise?

What is Cannoli's hook beyond just transforming on the fly?

I'd say Cannoli's primary hook is that his stats would slightly change based on the current "disguise" he's in. It'd not be a massive change, but with most of Cannoli's basic movements and options (such as moving, jabs, jumping and so forth) keeping him in the same form, certain disguises give him slight damage buffs, others might give him slight speed buffs, others slight defence buffs - but it's offset by nerfs in other areas. For example, "Thief Cannoli" is slightly lighter and faster, but his still-large hitbox and lessened attack power results in a more rushdown-focused style, "Cosmic Cannoli" is much lighter, has a higher jump - but is floatier, and easier to K.O., and "Wicked Cannoli" would have incredible attack power but offset by a slow speed and a surprising lack of defence.

I was originally gonna resubmit Kiddy Kong for this job, but I couldn't think of a hook I really liked. As such...

Roger the Potted Ghost (Yoshi's Island)

The major boss of Yoshi's Island's second world, Roger relies on two Shy Guys to push him around. While he isn't exactly the game's most difficult boss, he's one of my personal favorites and could make for a fun, unexpected addition to the Yoshi series lineup. He could make use of his amorphous body to perform long range body slams and similar attacks, but would have considerable endlag as one of his main weaknesses.

As for his hook, I'm actually envisioning two!
  1. Similar to Vivian's tail, Roger's body acts as a wall, and opponents cannot pass through it. However, they can dodgeroll across his pot.
  2. Roger's second gimmick is something specific to him - Due to not having any limbs, he relies on two Shy Guys to carry him. While this does give him rather sluggish mobility, it also gives him a potent passive ability - Attacks which deal too little vertical knockback will not launch Roger. He can still be launched by attacks such as most up tilts/smashes, but if the attack doesn't have enough vertical knockback, Roger will remain in place as his Shy Guys hold him back (although he will still take damage).

However, the Shy Guys themselves can be attacked, and if they are, they will be KO'd, leaving Roger completely unable to move (aside from a pitiful single jump) for a while. The Shy Guys will eventually respawn, but until then, Roger loses his knockback resistance, leaving his surprisingly lightweight self in some serious trouble.

I will be resubmitting Cranky Kong for the second time, hope this works.

Cranky Kong

C68B843E-391A-4F1E-96D8-23A9BD37D572.jpeg

Mario’s original rival. His whole hook involves talk not being cheap and his moveset being based around…well, his stories about his youth. Truly, I’m surprised Cranky is not in this game despite being one of the first ever Mario characters to chronologically make their debut. Plus, there’s not many older adults represented on the roster. Thus, Cranky Kong makes his talks worth it in a fight.

Basically, I was thinking he can be a bit of a comic relief fighter. Each move involves him doing an action and gaining new voice lines about him talking about the old days throwing barrels and the liking. That’s what I’m thinking about for his hook.

Unfortunately I don't think Cranky qualifies for this job due to arcade DK not being allowed due to Pauline.

I may be willing to allow Cranky if his moveset doesn't involve throwing barrels or any other arcade reference though, and I'll likely allow Cranky no caveats for future DLC jobs

I’ve always loved this idea. I’ve been working on a Roger moveset of my own that’s kinda similar to what you’ve got here…

5-Volt

5-volt is a recurring character in the WarioWare series of games

As a hook she would have 2 different gimmicks, A Rage meter where she enters her angry form, it just does more damage and knockback and changes some attacks to be more aggressive

Her second gimmick is a spirit that she can control and move around the stage and eventually teleport to, when she teleports she creates a shockwave. This spirit cannot take damage, but her main body is still vulnerable.

I don't think these qualify - one has already been done through Lucario and the other is kinda just a move
