Smash Ultimate's DLC was very character centric, so we'll be recifying this by adding extra stages; items; assist trophies; alt costumes; and maybe even echo fighters to release alongside those fighters, not tied to them but connected to either the company that made them, the other series repped in their Mii Costumes, or a first party character tied to their theme!

Stage:
The Epoch
( KneeOfJustice99 KneeOfJustice99 )

Assist Trophy: Space Invaders ( Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario )
Epoch music: ( Infinity Sorcerer Infinity Sorcerer )
  1. Main Theme (New Arrangment)
  2. Corridors of Time (New Arrangment)
  3. Battle
  4. Boss Battle 1
  5. Frog's Theme
  6. Schala's Theme (New Arrangment)
  7. Undersea Palace
  8. Battle with Magus
  9. World Revolution/Last Battle (New Arrangment)
Alt costumes:
  1. Soundtrack Lucina ( nirvanafan nirvanafan )
  2. BOTW Zelda ( Janx_uwu Janx_uwu )
  3. Pig Ganon (@Darkonedagger)
  4. Kingdom Hearts Cloud ( KneeOfJustice99 KneeOfJustice99 )
  5. Robot Ness ( Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario )
Stage:
Blood Gulch
( Tankman from Newgrounds Tankman from Newgrounds )

Blood Gulch music: ( Infinity Sorcerer Infinity Sorcerer )
Assist Trophy: Clippy ( Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario )
Alt costumes:
  1. Yarn Kirby ( NanayaGaming NanayaGaming )
  2. Omega Ridley ( NanayaGaming NanayaGaming )
  3. Jumpman ( Tankman from Newgrounds Tankman from Newgrounds )
  4. Phantom Ganon ( NanayaGaming NanayaGaming )
  5. Proto Man ( Janx_uwu Janx_uwu )
  6. Kaptain K. Rool ( nirvanafan nirvanafan )
Stage: Mission One
( Infinity Sorcerer Infinity Sorcerer )

Mission 1 Music: ( Infinity Sorcerer Infinity Sorcerer )

  2. Zoom Down (New Arrangment)
  3. Midnight Wandering (New Arrangment)
  4. Kiss in the Dark
  5. Ridge 256
  6. Bottom of the Sea
  7. Windy Day
  8. Aruh (New Arrangment)
  9. Fierce Battle (New Arrangment)
Alt costumes:

Echo fighter: Rock Howard ( Infinity Sorcerer Infinity Sorcerer )

ROCK HOWARD
Rock would be lighter and faster than Terry but at the same time quite weaker, Rock's throws would be different to Terry even if shares the same attributes (with the exception of his down throw that would be replaced with Shinkuu Nage). For the rest:

Neutral Special: Reppuken/Double Reppuken
Rock's version of the Power Wave, Double Reppuken works like Strong Power Wave. In the air the move is similar to Terry but in blue.

Forward Special: Hard Edge
Rock's version of the Burning Knuckle, unlike Terry it hits two times, in the original games this move was a QCB input put here will be changed to a QCF input to be more similar to Terry's input (Burn Knuckle also doesn't have a QCF input in the original games anyway).

This isn't Overhead Kick but I didn't find any gif of his T.O.P. attack.
Back Special: Overhead Kick
Rock's version of the Crack Shot, has the name indicates is an overhead attack, the input is QCB even if, again, isn't the original input.

Up Special: Rising Tackle
Exactly the same has Terry, it has the same charged input too.

Down Special: Crack Counter
Rock's only different special to Terry, it's a counter attack where after hit Rock counterattacks with a similar attack to Crack Shot. The input version is DP + Attack Button being faster, having more active frames and dealing a backwards kick after the first one (just like his EX Crack Counter).

Super Special Move 1: Raging Storm
Rock's version of the Power Geyser being a powerful anti aerial with the difference that Rock's is completely vertical in comparison to the diagonal geyser and it also hits behind Rock. Rock can also charge the move to deal more damage. The input is also different being QCFQCF + Attack button (same has Buster Wolf)

Super Special Move 2: Shine Knuckle
Rock's version of the Buster Wolf, instead of a huge explosive blow Rock does an elbow attack followed by a super Rising Tackle. The input is QCBQCB + Attack Button.

Final Smash: NEO Deadly Rave
Rock lunges forward and if hits he teleports the first hitted foe to a cinematic where he does a pose spreading a pair of blue wings made of ki and proceding to make a powerful combo finishing with an explosive blow.

Finally, Rock's Victory Poses and Victory Theme are different.
Victory Theme: Victory Message from Garou.
Victory Poses:
  • Rock gives the back to the camera and spread a pair of wings made of blue ki.
  • Rock takes of his jacket and tosses it in front of him, this victory is always used when Rock wins a match using Shine Knuckle
  • Rock infuse his hand in ki while his eye glows but he gets exhausted quickly saying "Why my evil blood boils?", this victory is always used when Rock wins a match using either Raging Storm or his Final Smash.

Alts:

Wherever good books are sold.
This is a pretty neat concept for a thread; I'm in!
...and I am immediately going to use the criteria to give Sonic the representation he deserves.

Second Stage: Chemical Plant (Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sega)

(the picture's from mania but shhhh)

Yeah, it's another Classic-style stage, but I'd be willing to add anything that wasn't Green Hill Zone 3.

My idea for the stage is having two hard platforms on each side of the stage with those flipping tile platforms from the original zone connecting them as a soft platform which occasionally flips open in parts. However, there is poisonous water at the bottom of the stage which damages opponents who fall into it (as well as causing the usual water hazards). Topping it all off is a soft center platform above the flipping platform.

Alt costumes
  • Sonic (Sega character)
    • Racing suit from Sonic Adventure 2.
  • Mario (Red)
    • 64 Outfit from Odyssey.

Joker's stage: Special Stage

This is a big, spinning stage - this layout is consistent, but there will be soft platforms facing in different directions that randomly spawn at match start, as well a diamond bumpers that appear and disappear.

I'm not gonna disqualify this submission, but I do want to mention that when Kirby uses a copy ability this alt won't really seem that different from regular Kirby 9 times out of 10.
Oh crap you're right. Maybe he could also be Marx's purple color in addition to the hat. Would that be allowed?

So! The opportunity for another SEGA stage! I'm sure we're all familiar with the bizarre state of a certain beloved SEGA-owned franchise in Smash. Surely, this would be an opportunity to give said franchise more proper representation, varying up its stage lineup with one of a plethora of iconic locations to choose from!

So of course I'm gonna be doing something completely different.

Space Harrier
NSwitchDS_SegaAgesSpaceHarrier_06.jpg

You know what I don't really like about the SEGA representation in Smash? I feel like it kinda leans too much towards A. newer stuff, and B. stuff that's only Technically Owned by them. Not enough love given towards any of the more classic games or their homegrown stable IMO. We do have the Akira assist - and that's a great pick, I'm very happy with that - but it still doesn't really feel like enough. Kinda feels like there's a big part of their history that's just being pushed aside in favor of subscribing to the common idea that all the important non-Sonic games they made either came out in the past 8 or so years or weren't actually made by them. So how about we work on that by adding a stage based on one of their greatest arcade classics?

You will indeed be fighting in the original Space Harrier game itself. You get to fight in all the weird and wonderful enviroments that the Fantasy Zone brings, while also having to dodge obstacles such as enemy projectiles and all kinds of structures. Plus, it'd get to come with the absolute classic track that is the main theme

The perpetual trash fire known as Planet Earth(tm)
Second Stage: Egg Planet Park

Game of Origin: Sonic Colors (2010), full name Dr. Eggman’s Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park

Layout: The stage is a cylinder with no other platforms

Gimmicks and Hazards: You travel across six different zones with one Wisp per zone. Wisps can be activated by pressing B instead of your neutral special, but they only work when you stay on the stage.
  • Tropical Resort has the Cyan Laser, which has the user travel in a zigzag line
  • Sweet Mountain has the Yellow Drill, which has the user drill underground to trip opponents. After a couple seconds, the Drill pops out of the ground and fires up like a rocket.
  • Starlight Carnival has the Blue Cube, which turns the user into a giant cube that causes a shockwave upon impact. It can also bury opponents on the ground and meteor smash in the air.
  • Planet Wisp has the Pink Spikes, which turns the user into a spiky ball and sticks them to any surface they land on
  • Aquarium Park has the Purple Frenzy, which turns the user into a violent beast that can only be controlled by moving the control stick left or right
  • Asteroid Coaster has the Violet Void, which turns the user into a black hole that sucks up everything in its path; opponents above 100% are instantly K.O.’d
While the general layout is always the same, each zone has a different Wisp to rescue and use.

Also in each zone, Orbot and Cubot appear in the background and foreground of the stage, and you get to hear Dr. Eggman talk away on the PA during the battle.

Here's a bit of a weird one, but I like it quite a bit and I hope y'all will too.
Bonus Stage: Time Traveler

Time Traveler is a 1991 holographic FMV game where you help a cowboy (Marshal Gram) travel throughout time to stop the evil time lord, Vulcor, and save Pincess Kyi-La. It was groundbreaking for its time, being the first holographic game ever! The gameplay consisted of quick time event's as many other FMV games from its time.
To reflect the original game, the look of the stage would be almost completely black save for outlines of the stage and four three-dimensional shapes in the background.
The stage's layout would be similar to that of The Forest Floor from Rivals of Aether - basically a long base platform with four soft platforms arranged above it. Sometimes the screen will flash a bit, and background elements will appear or be swapped out (such as the aforementioned shapes, cacti from Western times, castles from Medieval times, neon signs from near-future times, and strange metal infrastructure from future times). With hazards on, enemies corresponding to the current time period will appear on the left or right of grounded fighters and do a quick, powerful attack - you'll have to be on your toes for sure!

(Originally submitted by me in the AGES thread (but wasn't accepted at the time due to not fitting the at-the-time criteria))

Bonus Alts
  • Masked Lucina (Masks) (Down Taunt is very slightly changed so she takes it off for a second and then puts it back on, rather than the opposite)
  • Team Rocket Grunt + Bulbasaur + Mega Charizard + Wartortle (Red & Thieves)
  • Beat Sonic (Sega)

Job #1:
Stage Name: OutRun Bay
Stage Origin: OutRun Series

I think this would be a really nice change of pace stage-wise compared to a lot of other prospective picks. Really, we don't have a "Miami" styled stage of sorts, plus this could have the potential to bring in amazing music from not just the OutRun series, but other vehicle-based SEGA titles like the Daytona, Hang-On, SEGA Rally Championship, and Virtua Racing series amongst others.

The stage itself would take place on the beach with the road behind it, in a similar sort of layout to where the tennis court is in SEGA Superstars Tennis - and various cars will drive past in the background, though they won't affect gameplay. They'll also be various SEGA-themed vehicles, including the Testarossa, the Hornet, and the motorcycle from Hang-On. When you select to play on a FD/Battlefield form stage, it'll take place on a stylised platform to look like a boat, being above the water as opposed to on the beach, and thus set back a bit further.

I think that if there's any way to represent one of SEGA's pillars of history - that being its prominent history of arcade releases - then the series that defined an entire genre of music would be a good place to start. Whilst I agree as much as the next guy that Sonic needs some more representation, the possibility of representing SEGA in a greater sense is too appealing to shoot down at an opportunity like this. With unique vibes, cameos, and musical potential, I think that this stage would be exceedingly fun to see included in some way.

Job #2:
1. A striped, almost cartoonishly styled striped alt for Wario, intended to look like the stereotypical thief. It replaces his hat/helmet with a hastily made mask and hat, as well as his shoes being replaced for something more sensible. It's a small model change, but Wario's gotta make money somehow, right?
2. Mario, dressed in almost militaristic gear as opposed to his overalls - but keeping the hat. This would be based on a promotional My Nintendo exclusive in the form of Nintendo-themed Hanafuda cards, replacing the original Napoleon with Mario - but dressed similarly. I think the really composed and smartly dressed look would suit our plumber quite well!
3. Pichu with a black and red jester hat. That's all. I think it'd look adorable, especially if we gave the "points" physics and had little bells at the end. This could apply to basically anyone but I think a lil jester Pichu would be amazing.

Look, if you're ever asking me for something Sega related this is guaranteed to happen.
Stage:
1651705070611.png

Home Bay

The stage is a grassy surface on a chunk of stone jutting out of the ocean. Ecco and his pod can be seen swimming around, jumping through the air, and doing tricks. Sometimes, dolphins will jump over the stage, during which they can damage players with their beaks, or be used as platforms Super Mario World style.

And my Alt submission is...

Sorry if this is a dumb question but is content from other studios Sega owns but didn’t always own eligible? I’m guessing not since Atlus is listed as seperate from Sega in the original job but I just wanna make sure.

In that case my submission is:

Total War
(If there’s a more specific name I can use, please let me know anyone who is a fan of Total War. I am not familiar with the series.)

Based on Total War: Shogun 2, one of the most popular games in Sega’s third biggest franchise, this one has you on a wall of an ancient Japanese castle, which is a completely flat stage with a couple of platforms on it. Suddenly an army will come attacking and a huge battle will play out in the background. Occasionally some stray arrows will come, potentially hitting opponents, and sometimes a fire will engulf half the stage but it’ll put itself out afterwards.

Shrine (Virtua Fighter)
We already have a VF asssit so why not go all our for such an influenceual fighting game seires. Players fight on that bit in the middle, with and you can dunk your opponents into the water. Various VF characters cameo.

Jill & Drill Dozer

She's not a man, and she's certainly not gentle, but she fits that heroic outlaw niche well. She'd function as she did in Brawl, with the Drill Dozer UI added on.

Assist: Ristar (Sega)

Ristar’s not exactly the most relevant Sega character out there today, but I think he could do with some more love. As an Assist Trophy, he’d grab opponents with his extendable arms and throw them around. He also has an air dash to use as a second attack.

Bonus Assist Trophy: Ai Ai

Ai Ai falls onto the stage, encased in his pink-and-white sphere. The stage will then rotate from left to right a few times like a seesaw, as Ai Ai sturggles to stay on. After a little bit, the stage balances out, and Ai Ai breathes a sigh before striking a pose and flying upwards.

Kiryu

He'll chase fighters down and lay the beat down. He'll use one of the fighting styles from the Yazuka series so it'll be slightly different each time.

Opa-Opa (Fantasy Zone)
1651765420158.png

Opa-Opa is main character of SEGA series called Fantasy zone and he is small sentient spacecraft, who attacks the evil of Fantasy Zone universe from conquering it. He was SEGA's first official mascot, who debuted before Alex Kidd and Sonic. He is also SEGA's now less known character with great popularity dated in 80's.

When summoned via Assist Trophy, he flies around the stage and shoots at opponents with his lasers from cannon and he sometimes shoots wide beam that could KO opponents. He ocassionally swoops down to attack the opponent with force.
He can be KOed. When KOed, he explodes into blue drops like in his home game.

I nominate Opa-Opa, because he could fun assist and he could be second SEGA arcade Assist Trophy. He could fit in assist role due to shooting and flying in air, attacking the opponents with his far range bullets from his cannon.

Character Name: NiGHTS
Character Origin: Nights into Dreams (1996)

I think that despite a relative lack of recent notable appearances, NiGHTS is in the unusual situation where they combine the psychologically-based themes of the Persona series with the friendly and approachable design of the Sonic series, making them a pretty interesting go-between for a pack like this. In this case, NiGHTS would begin to fly around when summoned, leaving a trail of stars and looping around, as well as corkscrewing. However, you'll notice - they're actually making an effort to attack the opponents! Also, if the opponent is in the air and NiGHTS manages to loop around them completely, the fighters caught within would be spiked directly downwards. NiGHTS's aerial prowess is to be feared, but keeping a steady head and close to the ground leaves you firmly in control of the situation.
