I was at a good college before I got into competitive Melee, but then smash warped my priorities at the time and I ended up transferring to a mediocre one. -_-

Actually, if there were a large competitive Armored Core scene in the US, chances are I would have gotten into that instead.

I was really into many forms of gaming and different genres of games before i got serious about smash, now I only play smash unless I play halo or rock band with friends.

Played some WoW, and like normal kid stuff I guess. Picked up Melee, I'm like "ok this is pretty fun" then there was that NP article on it and I'm all "dang this is pretty cool"... and to this day I still haven't made it to any tournaments <___________< I'm workin' on it tho.

Halo 2 semi-pro (free stuff but not full pro).

then team went on a wow raid for grand finals for an online championship

10k spending for all 2007 events down the drain, got some sponsors to send me to mlg just to enter FFA to try to get good placement then saw melee.

switched right then just to find out it was dropped and that it was the last event :( , also got owned in FFA since person on my screen camped me and also his friends someone got in same ffa so they let him win ><.

I was obsessed by ratchet and Clank ^.^ (and still am, just not as much)
but when my friends showed me melee I loved it, and it fully introduced me to nintendo really, which I am glad for as I also discovered earthbound in 2008, and fell in love with it :3

I used to play a lot of other games.

There are waaay more amazing videogames besides super smash bros, a thing that some people fail to realise.

Before I played melee I was like 8 so I don't remember. I played casually without AT for a long time.

I just played and perfected games relentlessly. Goldeneye, Super Mario 64. Starfox 64. Now I still play loads of games, I just don't perfect them. Smash isn't what got me into Fighting games but it's certainly my current favorite series. I probably have more of a life now than I did when I played Smash for the first time 11 years ago.

Before melee i had just played regular videogames. I had been playing melee almost every weekend just for fun before I went to college and was a complete noob. We used items and played free-for-alls on icicle mountain. I didnt even know that you could change to sheik by holding down A. At college i met this guy (OiL!) who said that he played a little melee as well. He completely rocked my **** the first time we played, and it totally got me into competitive smash. I really can't remember what life was like before smash, probably because it was so bleak and boring :D
