Well... as a hardcore FF Fan (Slowly dying due to the dislike of their ideas as of late), I liked KH.. and it'd be a nice RPG on the handheld.

And it's okay Terry I can teleport <.<

Oh. Then there's always the possibility of Kingdom Hearts 3DS. That would be pretty cool, and the franchise would enjoy that.
Yes, there is a Kingdom Hearts 3DS titled Kingdom Hearts...3D. According to Nomura, the 3D doesn't stand for 3D tech, but rather something else. Apparently, this game is on par of Birth By sleep when it relates to the story due to
TIME TRAVEL.
But in all seriousness, KH3D looks to be on par to PSP/PS2 graphics.

I want a real super mario world 2. Yoshi island was cool but it defiantly wasn't meant to be a direct sequel.

"to match its enhanced visuals"

I think you read that incorrectly F8AL, it's saying that while the graphics are enhanced to take advantage of the system, they won't be adding new missions and the like.

You're absolutely correct! My apologies! Now I know that I have to get this game!

Recently, Kojima said that if the game is actually made they would consider some elements from Peace Walker, including the game's co-ops cooperative play system and portable-like elements. Also he said that the demo has "high level models" that "are about the same quality as the stuff on the PlayStation 3".
I hope they add co-op into Snake Eater 3DS! Don't know about the whole "same quality as the stuff on the PS3" though...

I guess Kojima means that they'll get anit aliasing in there (most likely not, but who knows), less blocky models, better draw distance and more detail.

This week, Nintendo is slated to make the Nintendo 3DS’s release date public. German newspaper Bild claims to have the jump on the release info.

According to Bild, the Nintendo 3DS will go on sale in Japan on November 11. It will then “probably” go on sale in Europe in the first quarter of 2011 and is priced at €200. Release info. for North America is not mentioned.

Bild also lists launch titles for the Nintendo 3DS: Mario Kart 3D, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle.

It is worth noting the Bild is the biggest selling newspaper in Europe. It is also a tabloid and isn’t exactly noted for backing up every story it prints. In this article, the paper bluntly gives the release date as fact without alluding to where the information came from.

Apparently, the paper did correctly mention the Wii Remote before Nintendo president Satoru Iwata debuted the controller in the Tokyo Game Show keynote speech.

Previously, a former employee of a Japanese peripheral company dated the Nintendo 3DS for November 11 in The Land of the Rising Sun, while an American website is claiming to have the portable’s specs.
Not that surprised tbh. Timing fits about what the DS had, games make sense (good single player games and a good multi)

From GoNintendo:

- tag mode functionality, selecting notices from a list, Miis received through tag mode, stopping of gameplay to connect to the web via browser all shown

- All 3DS games can communicate while in sleep mode

- Light on upper-right of 3DS unit, practically on R shoulder, shows when your console has passed another 3DS and received data

- Namco Bandai's Sakagami notes that he would like to use Tag Mode for rankings and exchanging ghost data in Ridge Racer 3D

- Street Fighter IV 3DS will be able to use Wi-Fi to receive fight requests wherever you are

- The 3DS stores tag-mode data from all sorts of games, so you don't have to actually be playing a specific game to get tag-mode data for that game.

- multi-tasking function: hit the home button mid-game and launch certain programs, such as a "Memory Notebook" or pull up your playtime or see the amount of steps you've taken. Does this indicate a built-in pedometer, or is this related to already-released DS hardware?

- 3DS unit will come w 2GB SD card packed in

- Game Boy, Game Boy Advance and Classic games in 3D to be sold on VC service!

- 3DS can connect on WiFi when in sleep mode and auto-dl data, including rankings, ghost rankings, free software, n more.

- Feb 26, 25000Y 3DS jpn release (298.6150 US dollars)

- US and Europe in March

- Nintendo still aiming to change sales of third party games on Nintendo platforms, and the 3DS is Nintendo's next step to alleviate this problem

- 3DS VC games show - Link's Awakening DX, Super Mario Land

I hope that Nintendo has come to their senses by the time they announce the 3DS price for America.

I was sold at "Mario Kart 3DS", though the majority of the lineup pretty much solidified my interests in it. Here's hoping it doesn't have anything like the "RRoD syndrome" some newer systems have. >_>

Moreover, I wonder if this is such a wise idea. Surely, a lot of parents are not going to want to shell out 300 bucks for a handheld system. Especially considering 360's and Wii's are cheaper.

My DS Phat cost about $200 bucks. It's lasted me over 6 years and counting. The 3DS is currently cheaper than my iPod and will be used more often. If it can last about the same time as the Phat, I'll be picking this up day one as long as it's still within reason. Kind of a good thing that we're not getting it first, that way if there are any issues, they should be fixed (or at least we're aware of them) before the PAL launch :D

I would be satisfied with the price as long as I know what technology is stored, but we have to wait till later to know I suppose.

Would that be likely for a 16% price drop to get to America?
More than likely.

Entertainment products cost way more anywhere other than North America, and even then games in Canada cost 10$ more for no apparent reason.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! :falcon:

First thought upon seeing the first couple items was "Gee, I hope this list includes [that]". Whaddya know.

If the price tag remains that high in America, I might get mine used. SOMEBODY's gonna buy it and not like it...

I remember reading an article today on that guy, Michael Patcher who said he predicts it'll sell for $250 in NA next year. I hope he's right for once.

Yeah...the $10 really puts me off sometimes...plus the 13% tax...:urg:

F8al, we're at about $1 AUD = 95US cents. The average price for a new console game is $100 bucks. PC are usually a little cheaper, but not always.

Hope that makes you feel better about your $10 extra. :/

Games over here are 60 bucks though so that direct conversion is of little value.

Edit: lolcanada, thought you were talking about the US. My statement still stands, just add 10 when applying to Canadia.

The 3DS Will Have Firmware Updates

http://kotaku.com/5652932/the-3ds-will-have-firmware-updates

Thus, the 3DS's automatic updates can definitely help Nintendo combat piracy, but also, as Iwata points out, it can enable Nintendo to introduce new features, etc. This ability, Iwata says, is more important to Nintendo than stopping piracy.
At least Nintendo is now trying to stop piracy on their handhelds. It's pretty nefarious on the DS and the PSP.

EDIT: @ Mic: Yeah, it does. Thanks. :p

I don't know why people are complaining about the price. iPods are around that (for 32 gigs, at least), and they're still selling like hotcakes.

I'll definitely get it, and it will be money well spent, considering how much I will use it.

I'm not sure if I'm more upset that I probably won't be able to hack it or I'm happy that I'll get more bang for my buck.
Hacks + safe updater = fun

The wii started at the same price and dropped to 250 for its NA debut. I would imagine this is going to be the same.

Even better, the firmware updates can not be cancelled, so now there's no way (when it comes out) to play on wifi with hacks/mods since it does it automatically. (And also many of the games will be carrying the firmware upgrades aswell, so even if you never go online you'll have to [eventually] update.

I'm fairly happy about their antipiracy stepping up, the amount of DS pirates on eBay and the like is appalling, on most of the popular games the pirates outnumber the genuine copies . . . . .

I feel bad for the chumps that bought several of the other DS versions XD
*sigh* It's NOT another DS, calling this another DS is like calling the PS3 another version of the Playstation (or Playstation 2) or the Game Boy Advance an alternative to the original Game Boy. The 3DS has a Gyroscope, a Motion Sensor, two cameras (for 3D pictures), a joystick, a larger resolution, 3D effects, one widescreen . . . . screen, and hardware that is on par or even more powerful than the Wii's. I'm leaning toward the latter based on the screenshots and videos shown.

Unless you're talking about JUST the DSi and DSiXL, then I agree.
