Ok so even though I had absolutely no idea of this, Shaya is correct in this argument and SBR rules state this:

Set format (In Order of Procedure):
1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure
3. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for counterpicks of the set
4. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match

Sorry Attila, I was with you on this one but we are wrong, SBR rules means that's how we play. Now can everyone please stop discussing this? I hate coming home every night to read 3-4 pages of arguments.

Look, for now Corneria stays but will be looked into. If everyone wants Yoshi's Island (Melee) banned then so be it, this stage will be replaced by Green Greens. Is there anyone who disagrees with this?
(If even one person begins to exploit Green Green's camping factor, it will be scrapped from the CP list instantly.)

Wub yo.

I Agree With this completely, but should probably be a Dedede ban Stage.

i was playing with tibor about an hour ago on corneria, and even though its a good stage for both of our mains, we had to agree its a really ban-worthy stage. just didnt want to say it too loudly though...

@luke: i think it might be, although beware of dtilt locks into explosives, cause snake doesnt have one. low ceiling and platforms are nice though :)

Anybody else notice on 1st page that Yoshis Island (melee) is no longer a CP, and that Green Greens isn't banned? :)

If you take me to Green Greens you'll get what you deserve Atilla :)

So we're doing the stage striking system instead of just going random from now on?
I know it says we're doing the stage striking systyem but I just want to make sure.

jei do you reckon you could post links on the OP to the pages with results?
There is already a link for last month's results right before the Ranbats list. If you're asking for results for every STIGMA-B this month then yeah I don't see why not. However I'm leaving for Qld in about an hour so I will do it when I get back.

If you could post the full bracket for each month, that would be cool. Maybe with details such as what characters and how many times each person won, etc.

EDIT: oh wait, hes gone already. FUNNY ABOUT THAT, HUH

Red bit:I posted this ages ago (pg 101, post 1508), before the last tournament in fact. I also bought up the issue with Yoshi's Island (Melee).

Lime bit
: I use Link, asking a Link not to camp is like asking G&W not to use the turtle. Asking people not to camp won't work, and it is unfair, as it removes a part of many characters movesets (almost all of Link's/Tink's B's, Falco's Lasers, Pit's Arrows, Zelda's Fire, the list goes on). Any attempts at preventing people from camping on Green Greens is doomed to fail, for as I stated above, it removes parts of character's movesets, and no one wants that.

Note: This Video shows the Green Greens glitch, and how it was stopped, which may be somewhat useful if Green Greens is considered a counter pick stage.

Alfa, camping is not the same as forcing an approach.

Falco's Lasers force approaches. Most projectiles force approaches. Green Greens make it harder for characters to "camp" avoiding projectiles than other stages.

It still has it's issues though, from what I've read/heard, but I have no real personal experience on it.

Other than "FFS" when I decided to try it against S.D once, and he owned me zoning the middle with uairs... (Pit btw). UGHH.

Edit: And beamswords hurt, they really do :p.

Also if Castle siege is D3 banned shouldn't delfino be?

Nixernator, Castle siege is D3 banned because the section of it that is walkoff lasts for more than a minute, and the transformations are walk off as well, meaning even if you are not chaingrabbed the whole way off the stage, then you are put into tough position to recover, which many characters will die from, whereas D3 as great recovery. This is fairly east to do as there are no obstacles in the transformation part as well. This means that there are a lot of opportunites for D3 to chaingrab someone of the stage easily, hence the D3 ban.

On Delfino, not much of the stages transformations are walk off or have walls, and even if they do, they don't last as long as Castle siege transformations, and they are easy to avoid due to a plethora of platforms. Hence the lack of a D3 ban.

In other words, if D3 can get you into a lock against the wall in the twenty-odd seconds the wall is there, apparently he deserves to.

Castle Siege is arguably not D3 bannable either. There are sufficient platforms to avoid D3's chain grabs in the second part.

Hell, I'd say any Wario who'd counter pick Castle Siege against D3 would destroy them. It's not even really a good D3 stage, get a percent lead and D3 will NEVER, EVER catch you on the second part, and the 1st and 3rd parts restrict D3's approach and camping options as well.

Just about any stage that has a real D3 issue is/has been removed from the stage list anyway (Shadow Moses, Bridge of Eldin, Green Greens, Big Blue, Corneria [but everyones an issue on this stage], etc.)

D3 cant force people into walls/walk offs where the CG begins. its like getting dtilt locked against a wall. you pretty much deserve to get locked for going there. its like 'heres the one place you shouldnt go at any time when the mk/marth is standing on the opposite side' *goes there* 'omg broken!'

how is it any different from walking into a falcon punch lol...

dont ban green greens because its campy, ban it cause its stupid. walls that blow up, apples that own people, tiny killzone, a ******** olimar glitch and gay music are all reasons why its banworthy. and as a sidenote, its really hard to approach good campers there. but in that sense its not too different from japes...

i dont think castle siege is d3 banned, but perhaps it will become so in the near future. if you get grabbed or are already being chaingrabbed just before the stage is gonna transform, or on one of the stupid parts, you lose a stock. this is pretty stupid really...

and in the case of delfino... in my match v shaya i wasnt against a wall initially, but when the stage stopped flying and landed, i was between d3 and a wall. gay. i suppose you could learn the order of stops, assuming its not random. is it?

Actually Attila brings up a good point about Castle Siege which I realised shortly after my last post, get grabbed during the transformation time between 1st and 2nd and you're screwed.

And, when I grabbed you on Delfino it didnt transform so you were against a wall, just when it transformed... Yeah you were against a wall but you weren't already in a grab.

Delfino I believe goes in a set order...
(Start) -> Island -> Pillars -> Base thing (where I CG'd you) -> Place with the umbrellas and right stage walk off -> Roof -> Star Tower thing -> Walk off stairwell thingy -> Start

Maybe it does have some randomness to it...

Like Port Town, I think it sometimes skips locations. Not too sure about that being the case for Delphino though.

Its a counterpick, it ain't neutral.

It's not like you can camp near a wall in Delfino and screw up everyone, unlike Corneria.
Walk offs are well... eh... the transformations with them are mostly big open areas... except the stairs area.

IMO they should either both be D3 banned, or neither of them.
Castle Siege has the transformation sequence and the second part.
Delfino may not have a walk off transformation-sequence, but it has 3 walk-off sections and 4 sections with walls. During the umbrella part, you either sit on the umbrellas or you are in an area where a CG could happen.

I dont think it really needs to be D3 banned. I mean, its not a neutral, if your up against a D3 you know what stage to ban rofl

I think they are trying to discuss the rules at stigma-b as opposed to all Aus tourneys.
