Its strange how you guys are posting anti nsw stuff when none of us have come in saying anything about nsw being better.

ILAG posted a claim that our upcoming tournament will be better than the one you have at the same time. Given that we have all our best players there and 3 of YOUR best players there, I think he's making a pretty obvious point. WE also have about 5 or 6 completely new players coming to this tournament, so its going to be particularly interesting.

In conclusion, state bashing is boring. Don't be boring.

On the plus side the gif was made of amazing and win. I loved it.

with regards to the omnigay i think we should take the stance we've taken regarding all other things deemed bannable in this game, wait until someone starts abusing it to win then make an informed decision, until then its only speculation as to how well this would actually work.

A point about a future tournament featuring more attendees than normal, including some of YOUR best players, is completely different to a point about a current tournament. It's also got nothing to do with nsw being better. Please try to understand that.

If I barged in saying nsw > vic (like you did - and calls are bad, my southern chum ) it would be different.

I'm always saying melbourne has a better smash scene than nsw. But when great melbourne COME TO NSW for the same tournament where we GET 5 NEW PLAYERS of course it will make for an exceptionally competitive one.

Similarly, you guys have the misfortune to be playing a tournament without Tibor or Attila. I'm sure it'll still be a fun tournament, but its obvious that in a competitive sense it will suffer. I don't give two ****s about how competitive each tournament is in nsw or vic, but it's still obvious that if you lose your best, and we gain your best, and we KEEP our best, then the competition will be a little tougher on our side.

All worthwhile points. The actual issue remains that I LAG came into the Melbourne thread just to inform us that your tourney will be better. Bully for you. It irrelevant to this thread, and your thread, and possibly all thread everywhere in the universe. The shirt I'm wearing now? It's irrelevant to the thread in my shirt. Yes, my argument is 'he started it'. But he did!

I will admit that a the main reason I replied as I did was as an excuse to finally use that .gif. It's been burning a hole in my Photobucket for a month.

@jei: all you need to do is to give everyone a number, and then use a random number generator to pick people one by one and add the consecutive picks into teams. Rinse and repeat for each round. Or chances are someone out there would have a made a program you can use for this xDDDD

2v2, best of 3, 5 "mains", double elim.

Make a regular singles bracket, but 2 in the same round are team mates. I.E. First round is me and condog vs earl and leish. They win, advance to winners brackets, we move to losers. Next round, myself and my partner win, my teammate from that round and I lose, we are eliminated, but condog and his teammate stay in, etc.
Since it would be needed to have everyone counted individually, using a singles bracket seems like the way to go.

first match of the set, your opponent chooses one of your "mains" that you will play as. If you lose 1st round, you pick whether you choose the stage or your opponents character. (if you choose character then stage will be a random neutral), 3rd round, same principle.

Eh, i dont think we need to combine both of the ideas into the one bonus. It would be needlessly complicated. Each is a valid idea on its own, and just because two things are good, doesnt mean they will be good if you add them together.

EDIT: using a character once per tourney would be a good idea for a bonus tourney =D it would place so much importance on proper character selection.
