We Aussies are known for breaking the mold, Mains wise.
Melbourne in particular has hardly anyone playing S tier characters.

The two main regions in the United States that are having large Ice Climber wins has one of the areas' best MK users as a Marth main (i.e. doesnt play MK) and the other region had M2K move out and spammerer quit, two of the best MKs in the world.

Whilst ICs lose harder to Snake than MK, its funny that communities with MK hardly used, ICs can frollick~.

Anyway, dont bring lain back here, he's had to deal with Perth like last week, he's dealt with Melbourne before, don't let him hate Australia guys

@DJB: We have a solid 30+ turn up every month, and you listed off a handful of ONE months top results. That leaves over 28 more people who's mains are undetermined, and i can guarantee majority of are not S Tier Characters. Not to mention that those results were from THREE MONTHS AGO.

You are all skilled at this game and can find a way around it...well maybe not the IC's but like Devil said, no one has been able to win with them yet. And don't cry about the Americans because we aren't American and have our own way of doing things.

I really hate banning/restricting things in this game because it really forces me to see what a bad game Brawl really is. Think about that.

Jei you do realize that some chars have NOTHING they can do about Planking, and hence the restriction in America. I had no idea that there was no limit until yesterday and it really anoyed me because i know how gay it is even though there isnt anyone that planks in tourny yet it will eventually happen, also its not just MK that can plank, alot of chars can plank against alot of other chars.
having a rule that helps prevent the game from being gay is better then pretending its not gay... think about that.

Also im pretty sure this was brought on by Gary Vsing Afropony at my house last Saturday and Afropony just stayed offstage and Gary couldnt do anything without getting gimped. I wasn't paying attention the whole time it was boring.

Your arguing against the idea of a Ledge Grab count just because you can, you have no reasons.

How is this different from any other way a character is made unviable? If some characters cant deal with that style of play, then thats a weakness that character has. So then you have two choices: you can either change tactics, or change character. Counter picking is part of this game for a reason.

in regards to planking: its a really gay way to play. but i dont think you can ban it. certain characters dont need ledges to do it anyway, to the ledge grab rule wont help you there... but as tibs and luke, i dont think it would be very appreciated here, and i cant see anyone abusing planking yet, either. in conclusion, its gay, dont do it please, but we cant ban it.

in regards to LEDGEing: he should enforce a ledge rule, to stop the game from being gay, not because it makes matches unwinnable. back in the day when i seconded olimar i took a couple of rounds off afropony when he was ledging, simply by outcamping him from the other side of the stage, and forcing an appraoch. i pretty sure every character has something you can do about it (there was a thread, i dunno where it went though). its hard at first, but you just gotta think of ways around it. i know it felt initially, cause its really hard to adapt so quickly, but now its a style im completely comfortable pwning. pretty sure yellow pikmin can grab ppl from below the stage and stage spike them btw...

in regards to ic cgs: ice climbers are 11th on the tier list with chaingrabs allowed. they are yet to win any major tourny in aus. and you want to ban the best thing they can do? LOL. and we havent even banned standing (like d3 on dk) infinites yet, and ic cgs arent even a true infinite (escapable from a standing grab to about 40%, escapable from a dash grab at about 60%, and they keep freakin slipping over)... LOLOL nothing you can do about them?

and with nana having to be there connor its actually pretty hard to kill her unless your mk or kirby or pit, someone who can safely get back after the gimp.

but as lain said somewhere, the IC's would be d tier without cg's (pretty much unusable), so if you take the cg's out, thats -1 char in the game. and thats not cool. sooo im impartial atm......

This Metaknight will increase the match time limit to twenty minutes just so he has more time to not do anything in. After the tourney ends at three in the morning on Tuesday Jei will be found, blubbering and drooling in a fetal position beneath a table. X will go on a homicidal rampage through Collingwood (no one outside Collingwood will mind much). Vermy will have a sex change, move to Burma and become High Priestess Shabooboo of the Light. He will start a cult, and in 2013 his followers will beat themselves to death with telephones as the comet crosses the sky and takes their souls to the promised land. And I... I shall forsake my name and identity and travel to deepest Africa, wherein I shall quest for diamonds and adventure.

That is what having no edgegrabbing limit will do to us. May God have mercy on us all, because the edge will not.

That would be awsome but the problem is that planking doesnt effect most of S Tier :S

@Attila: if a planking pit has a % lead this tactic wouldnt work.

@Splice: yeah Afro did bring the idea to me, but i didnt realize that Melb didnt have a rule against such a strategy. and Genesis didnt have the timed out rule, but i wouldnt mind.

@Everyone: Brawl is a competitive game. so if someone uses loopholes in the rules to their advantage, then they cant be hated on. because they didnt break the rules in the first place, and there should have been a rule already set up to prevent such a situation.

But yeah if everyone really thinks that its too much trouble to add a couple of lines to the rules section, or that it makes them think that the more rules in a game the worse it makes it seem (Brawl is a great game, with the rules to prevent gayness) then dont worry about it and forget i said anything, im just trying to help these tourneys feel more solid.

The camping that Olimar does to all characters is just as bad as the planking that Pit has to do to make the MU 50-50 if he's lucky instead of a 65-35 Olimar advantage.

Sorry Gary, I can see your distress but when someone mentioned the planking rule I really disagreed with it. I saw it as another style of play that had to be conquered...
If Olimar (or certain other characters) can't deal with it then you were just counterpicked and it's up to you to counterpick back with a different character/level/style of play even.

*I'm not going to ban Marth's spacing game because it hard-counters Jigglypuff...*

BTW Brawl really is a bad game and the more people find to ban in it just makes it look worse. Not to spark any Melee vs Brawl arguments but Melee only banned wobbling from what I know and that game has been out for 7 years now.
