Well I'm like the only one that talks about Ganon match-ups actively.. so.. Anyways, I know the positional advantage favors Marth in general but if Ganon can stay on the sides of Marth it can get really difficult for him to start stuff imo and also once you master DI Marth can't really combo as well, though Ganon regardless of DI from Marth, he can still follow up with brutal combos.

Yeah, no lie, Ganon can do some ugly stuff to Marth.

I've played a lot against Ganon, though, and there are numerous situations where you can just keep hittng him without him being able to do much about it.

Ganon's heaviness can make it sort of hard to get a good follow-up from a grab (not always), a reliable combo starter in other matchups. On the other hand, edge guarding is absolutely free.

Bleh tired.

Don't counterpick Ganon to Yoshi's it's like 90-10. I learned that the hard way.

DL is probably harder for Marth lol... if you can't get a kill from a grab by throwing Ganon off-stage then it's gonna be hard for Marth to kill him in general.

Agreed but you could always play the time out game..it's dangerous with someone who hits like Ganon though.

Definitely one of the best threads on the site right now, I agree. S0FT's recent string of posts were also quite high in calibur imo, but the mods don't have much of a sense of humor sadly.

A good Ness can make you sweat from time to time but that's about it. I'm glad you mentioned it though I actually meant to change that to 75-25.At best those are his odds against a good Marth.

Marth vs G&W is probably about that but assuming GaW is lucky it can be closer. Dthrow-9 hammer for example. Someone did it to me before and I LOL'd.

honestly, I'd argue for both ness and gaw being 65-35 at worst. Marth's really not that good vs low tiers tbh

I can verify that Niko did infact only play Hbox in 2 sets, and beat him in the 2nd set, while both Leffen and MacD did infact, get exposed.

I can also verify, that Marth beats everyone 90-10, except for a Falco who knows how to Bair and platform camp.

Step it up Falcos, ur doing it wrong (not trolling for once)

Sure. I actually have a fair amount of GaW practice so you're probably better off with Ness. =p

Eagle's marth already destroys my GaW, but my ness did decently so I would probably be better off with ness either way

For that reason, I also think ness might be a fair bit better off than GaW in the matchup, even though the people i've played against all suck at edgeguarding ness (except tomber). Letting me live to like 180%+ relatively often

Ness is not THAT easy as Marth. It's kind of an annoying match-up, definitely in Marth's favor, but nowhere close to 8-2. I don't want to give random numbers either though, so I won't.

All I can say is that it's closer than that.

And then we should move onto matchup guides. The current on is pretty meh and I had no clue which way was up when I started lurking the marth boards back in August.

Also ness is pretty free if you play mad gay.

why not? Luck specifically this kind of luck is programmed into the game. The odds can be calculated so I see no reason why not to at least consider it. Especially considering those items she pulls can change a game completely.

I think what he means is that you can't say "Peach vs Marth is 55-45 if she doesn't pull stitches and bombs and 50-50 if she does". You have to factor in the fact that Peach CAN pull those when calculating the matchup number.
