Audio commentary would only be good if it stuck 2 to commentators and not random *** people getting on the mic making stupid statements/getting off topic like most live streams.

It's MLG, I'm sure they'd get professional commentators and not just whoever is at the laptop by the TV as occurs at most tournies. They'd even probably be behind a desk and shoo away randoms who get near.

I would say that the M2k vs Ally match was not as hyped simply because for all the upsets that happened that day, this was a tame and typical ending. People were way more hyped to watch regions battle it out with other regions, and watch new characters fight. M2k and Ally is a solid clash of the titans, but it's somewhat played out.

Easy. The top Melee players were trying to better themselves technically and strategically because their was an astronomically high ceiling to preoccupy themselves with. Brawl was already campy and not super tech heavy, so we explored exploitable strategies far sooner, especially camp oriented ones. Also, a lot of Brawl's metagame was already developed because of Melee.

thats not even close to what i was talking about. My question is why was filming melee at mlg easy as pie yet its not in brawl? I dont understand why nintendo would say yes in the melee days but no in the brawl days.

MLG, is there any updates on recording or live streaming?

I remember hearing that MLG actually didn't have permission then (correct me if I'm wrong), but didn't bother to get it since they were relatively small back then. Since their company is larger now they can't take a risk like that anymore. At least that's what I remember hearing.

Simple. MLG is bigger and certainly more noticeable than it was back in the Melee days. Not to mention Nintendo, to our dismay, has a valid case against their merchandise being streamed in HD for MLG's financial gain.

I know it sucks, but that's how it works unfortunately. =/

So Nintendo still hasn't gotten back to MLG?

Thats a real shame, I wouldnt be surprised if there isnt a stream up for Brawl at any event this year if they swap Brawl for a different game next year. (Unless some events sell out or the numbers/irl hype keeps rising)

I love Brawl like the next guy, but its a definite hit to the hype-train if Brawl can't get streamed at all. Especially because Sundance actually just said today that Starcraft 2 is most likely going to be in MLG. (So 2011 most likely)

Everyone invest in SD cards and save as many matches as possible!

Anyone who has a camera, please try to record matches! AllieD recorded the final match between M2K and Ally, and so far I haven't seen Nintendo sue him or anything dumb.

Honestly though, if Nintendo has taken this long to respond to streaming brawl, do you think they'd even notice if MLG went ahead and streamed it anyways? I was half-joking above, but don't you think that if Nintendo were to get mad about an MLG video being uploaded to youtube that something woulda happened by now? I really wonder if anyone from MLG has even SPOKEN to a Nintendo rep. I can't shake the feeling that something more can be done about this.

And why is Halo being streamed with no issues? Is Microsoft just better at responding to people?

Nintendo, please allow MLG to livestream Brawl. You have repeatedly and emphatically stated that you are all about making smiling faces. Your silence toward MLG is creating frowny faces instead. It's time to decide what face you prefer. Please make the right decision.
