Grand Old Thread: League of Legends!

Anyone have any advice on why my game keeps getting unplayable lag/disconnects? I got a new hard drive for my laptop recently, and it only seems to happen while playing League, haven't had any problems elsewhere. I'll be playing a game, and suddenly get "attempting to reconnect" and then check my wireless status, and it will say it's having problems. Disconnecting -> reconnecting usually puts me back in the game, but often with massive lag and another disconnect eventually. While this happens, no other computers in the house seem to have any problem with the internet, so I'm pretty sure it's connected with League. I never had a problem like this before my old hard drive died. I've updated all the drivers I can find, just been playing bot games to test it but it's still happening :/

It cost me a ranked game last night, then today I played another with no problem, but the game I played immediately after that I disconnected at least half a dozen times.

Tell me hardware info and I can maybe ask my professor for my comp class about this.

Asdioh try running it as administrator if you don't by default. Make sure that there is a firewall exception for league, and maybe check the forums. Iirc there is a troubleshoot topic with common issues and the fixes for them

hmm hmm, I messed with my firewall and let it allow league, I think it solved the problems, tested a couple bot games with no lag problems.

I just have a realistic view of my skill level unlike some of the people who post here. Also thanks Dekar!! If you want to make a team for the upcoming LCS qualifier tell me ASAP I have a lot of possible prospect that would be interested and I'll solely be focusing on the jungle if you're interested.

while diamond doesnt have any value, I think people who aren't even diamond shouldn't make such condescending remarks lol. While most diamond players suck, that just mean that if you aren't diamond ATM you're just trash at the game.

That's what I thought, had a teammate play him on PBE though and his overall effects were more fun to watch than I expected. Such a simple concept but looked pretty fun.

Firewall settings seemed to fix my random latency drops, but now I just played 2 games in a row: first one was fine (as fine as it gets on my crappy laptop) and then second game was fine UNTIL teamfights started, then INSTANT drop to ~2 FPS unplayable nightmare. Every. Single. Time.
I once had a teammate who mentioned having the same problem, and someone on my team this game said the same.

I just updated my video driver the other day. I don't know what else could be wrong, but League has been lagging this past patch more than before.

i love games that completely destroy your expectations.

in champion select we had a guy who did not ever talk and picked nasus top after our first pick chose elise (elise went support). our mid decided it was a troll game and picked AP yi mid.

yi and cait were toxic all game and lost their lanes pretty hard, so i figured i would try to help nasus snowball. he got top tower and farmed top for the next 15 minutes.

pretty much every teamfight would end with only nasus and i alive. we managed to win a fight and got an inhib. we lost a baron fight... doesn't matter, nasus and i backdoored for another inhib. the game ended with nasus and i killing the enemy nexus surrounded by enemies and super minions.

yi talked smack for like 5 minutes in postgame lobby and nobody reported him.

no justice in this world...

So I totally just played Kha'zix jungle and died twice to jungle minions (including the leashed blue). Halp?

(Summoner level 14 so I don't have superb runes or masteries. Machete and 5 health pots.)

(Luckily the enemy jungler DCd so we still won.)

little harder at lower levels, your gonna back a lot more than if you were level 30.

Until you hit 20 and get runes, these help a lot, just farm what you can then back when you get to low, get a feel for what you can and can't do.

Also that feel when you win a game and land on 99 LP fffuuu.
