To be honest I'm not sure which would be the fastest. I think that SHL ledge cancel is probably the fastest, but if you shine turn wd and fastfall to the ledge it's really fast as well

i like shine hog cuz sometimes the shine hits them and theres also the barrier of fire surrounding u for a little bit lawl, and since its a little slower than some of the others it feels like you get more invincibility time since you just grab the edge a little later from the firefawx stall

ive found that way to be the most reliable since turnaround waveshine/shl are harder to be consistent with in a real match and in order for it to even be faster you gotta fast fall between the time your off the stage and grab the edge.

depends how far from the ledge you are. if youre far enough, the edge canceled side b, side b sweet spot would be the fastest. otherwise im pretty sure shl is the fastest.

i was figuring out ways that u can grab the edge with fox up b from the stage lol like u can do it from any part of the stage as long as its at the end (sweet spot)

Is there a percent range during which Fox can chaingrab a Falcon DI'ing away/behind? I know there's a range where it can work. I just want to know if Falcon can always jump out of it.

Okay, get ready for a really broad question because I'm ready for whatever flame/hate that might come.

Alright, so what're some shine combos? :D

Ahaha more specifically, what are the basic shine combos (waveshine included)? Waveshine > up-smash is, like, the only one I know, but I can only do that one on people who have enough traction so that I can use one WD to reach them. At the least, how can I reach people who get sent a crazy distance with some kind of attack (such as Marth or, at the highest extremity, Luigi)?

I also kinda wanna learn some regular shine (without the WD) combos that exist. Shine > Uair is one, right?

EDIT: Oh yeah, also, how can one continually waveshine on characters whose traction sends them so far that one WD can't reach them? Kinda goes with the longer paragraph I wrote.

Look, if you guys are going to fight me on stupid things, then do it. I'm not trying to tell you how to do stupid things, I'm trying to help people get better at playing fox. You could shine turn bair and put a bair at the same place, it's just a different way to get the same spacing, and it isn't going to surprise anybody who is good.
If that is your ace in the hole on ledge guarding then you probably have a bad fox.
There IS a thread for doing obscure things with fox, you know.

First, yes it is a stupid thing and i never recommended this technique.
Second, my point was that you don't get the same spacing when you just run off/jump out and shine turn bair (in the same amount of time)
Third, i don't edgeguard with Chillin Dashs, i can't do them consistently (i never bothered learning them) and even if i could i prolly wouldnt use them in serious matches

@Ruby: Ill change my sig ;)

http://www.smashboards.com/member.php?u=164061 tell this guy to master SHFFLing and to tell him how to DD he is left handed and wants to be flashy with his uber fast DD and not the kind where it's hard to punish.

Also I love to do a running shine turn around to SHFFL bair are there any major problems with that? I would think if you space it It would be pretty hard to CC for falco.

i think he meant like the really really fast kind where your pretty much standing in place.

like zhu does one match vs hbox at genesis on stadium.

my question was specifically on the glitch.

its quite easy to run out and shine and keep your momentum. and it can def be useful.

running shine somebody and they DI away. you are right there to **** b4 they know whats going on.

I only meant the part where the shine disappears and fox looks slightly blue, but everything else is the same. I was referring this as chillin dashing, thinking about it now, I could be wrong and its just running off and shining while keeping momentum.

So what are the mechanics of a chillin dash?

Doesn't seem like the animation could get cancelled since the shine is, well... one frame.

dont think the shine hit dude, and i have not done shine bair on someone while they are on the ground (lying down), just wait for them to get up...

shine bair is easy while they are standing up, just get used to the timing of turning around b4 the jump

oh, by on the ground you meant standing lol.

yea, all the same variations of shine with bair can be done while they are grounded depending on speed and direction.
