Q&A Doc General Discussion: Ask and ye shall receive ft. otg and Shroomed!

HERE YE, HERE YE, THE ___ COMMANDMENTS OF DOGYISM SHALL BE SPREAD UPON YE... and all that s***.
-Thou shall not ever land a good character, but will only settle into mediocrity. The only exception to ye commandment is for a game ye shant give 2 flying horse f***s about, in which case ye will hastily audible to the greatest character of them all.
-Thou shall not complete any objective in a timely manner.
-Thou shall never consider themselves anything above the infamous status of "broke"
-Thou shall partake in a daily dosage of the holy water, better known as soda...
-..Thou will also refrain from calling said soda "pop", because that's just wack.
-Thou shall never make a good recovery, but instead make a bad one and jeer merrily at those misfortunate enough to siege the moment.
-Thou shall consider all matchups for yeself here and forever "Bad", even if the matchup is 9-1 or 10-0 in ye favor.
-Thou shall classify pizza "fine dining", but only accept pizza of the surpeme stature. All other pizza are varying degrees of inferior.
-Thou shall never d.tilt with a mario, even as a slap to a character's face.
*edit* wow, almost forgot an important one (or the version I had earlier)
-Thou shall not put for the required or additional amount of effort required to complete a task, but will instead put forth a smaller or minimal amount and fill the gap with an elaborate form of BS-ardry.

In other news, who's goin to a f'n tourney this weekend? I mean, I havent played much melee lately (really, I havent played any), but I'm kinda depressed that the one thing im looking forward to in fighting games lately is Jwong playing Fei Long in a tourney. XD

mario's cape comes out more horizontal then docs...mario can but idk about doc i never tested it with him...

It's Bond before the kool gadgets and widgets. It's not bad by any stretch, but it sure as hell is different.

Because of how melee works, you're more likely to NOT get it to work. It's the gripe I always have, caping only flips the model, it does absolutely NOTHING towards momentum.
Show me where the hitboxes on mario's cape does more of anything than the ones on doc's

I have a question: Is there a actually a percent where you can reliably jab>upsmash someone? I don't even care if it's above 100%, (Though... preferably less than 175%) as long as you can't really escape. I'm asking because I love me some frame data, and if it's doable there's some weird stuff I wanna try. If no one knows, it's cool. I'll hopefully know by Sunday when I play people again.

Training mode + set CPU to desired percent is sooooooooooooo hard.
Either this, or get a super cooperative lil brother in training mode to DI for you so he can be your beatup dummy.

You're a big buffoon.
Training mode has led me to believe that lots of things are possible that aren't. They're generally related to DI though. Honestly, I hadn't thought of training mode combo counter.

For vs samus, I'll answer that in an hour. I'm leaving school right now.
Edit: I dunno how I would word it properly, but I guess I feel good at matchups where it's like a thinking battle, as long as I can't get gimped super easily. When I played watty at pound 3, I lost to him every game by going to the edge when I had a lead and getting gimped on the last stock. It probably wouldn't happen with doc, unless I'm facing the top 8-9 characters.

I've been trying to find a new main lately, and I've found out that I'm not terrible with Doc. XD
Now, I've been playing some lvl 9 computers since I can't play with any human players, and This is happened to me multiple times: Doc's Fair has a phantom hit somewhere in there, because I'll execute his Fair, I'll land on the ground forgetting to L-cancel, and the opponent will take damage after I have already landed?
Can someone agree or disprove this?

Yeah but EC > WC so you win by default. And Dogy says he sucks even though we all know he's awesome. I mean look at how good he did vs. M2k, better than any one of us, I'll tell you that much.

Yeah, I ironically DONT see alot of sheiks. Like, at TO5, I actually played Soft beforehand, who did the exact same thing. First time I'd seen a sheik in a good long time.
Sheik is one of those matchups I just play by ear and hope for the best. Kinda like I have to do jiggs now-a-day. XD
