This may actually tie in with the reason why the video said "14 point streak". Listened to a theory hutch had with him thinking that by using this "point streak" based system they'll be rewarding those that go for the objective rather than getting rewarded for "x" kill streak, etc.

I, for one, like the sound of this idea. Hopefully it'll encourage more players to go for the objective(s) and reward people who already play like that. Reminds me of the kill streak point-based system they have in Medal of Honor.

Welp, you got me there! But I do go for flags in Domination!

So yeah, I'm kinda worried about the idea of 'afterlife' perks. (Even tho fourzerotwo already said there won't be martydrom, last second or death streaks in MW3.)

I could still see it work with teammate-related kill bonuses such as "Rescuer" etc. being used for the point streaks. Either that or they'll also include killstreaks with point streaks, or point streaks will be killstreaks in TDM-based gametypes.

I'm liking Survival thus far. Really epic, and it seems a good alternative to Horde.

And if there's going to be a point-based streak system, I'm all for it. Killstreaks are really old, and it'd be nice to see some MOH-esque systems in the game. Anyone else for Offensive/Defensive choices?

My guess is that the trailer is showing us one of two things (or both)

A) Overkill is back (Two primaries in your loadout). I would love this, and the Pro version of two secondaries. Could be a waste, but I would love running with nothing but pistols.
B) Some guns classified as SMGs (Like the PP2000) will be selectable as a Machine Pistol Secondary instead.

Plus, that thing just looks cool.

I hope they put tactical knife back in, because that is honestly all I care about. TacKnifing is the only thing that I can ever fall back on and have fun with in CoD.

I honestly hope that they don't bring back the class selection options of mw2. Imo being able to have a primary and a shotgun/machine pistol is a bit too much. I like how Black Ops made it so you could only have a pistol as a secondary and limited options to other secondaries (launchers, special weapons, etc.).

Yeah, shotguns as secondaries is stupid, it was really annoying because it didn't matter if you got close to a sniper because they can just pull out a shotgun.

If cold-blooded was removed then air support would be overpowered. Well actually it would be mainly chopper gunners and ac-130's, cobras and harriers are easy to take out without cold-blooded. Even if they removed cold-blooded, people can still shoot down UAV's anyway.

Solution, remove Cold Blooded and nerf air support. Take out the ***** perk, people have no reason to camp because kill streaks won't be worth as much.

If they want gun on gun gameplay, this is why they should take it out. All it does is promote camping and that's exactly what ruins black ops. I almost have to laugh when I play that game with the amount of ghost douchebags sitting around completely stationary. It's not a CoD game so much anymore, more hide and go seek.

Either way, they need to nerf killstreaks. A lot. I'm sick of people doing nothing to help me win just so they can get a chopper gunner for it to be shot down in 5 seconds.

This would be a good solution, but I doubt that they will ever nerf air support. Would be nice if they did though, hiding in a room for a minute or 2 while a chopper gunner is out isn't really fun.

They have already said, on the record, in multiple interviews, with a lot of emphasis, that they are nerfing the killstreaks and they are focusing on gun-on-gun play.
That would be good if they actually do that. But we'll see if it actually happens.

All I want for Infinity Ward to do with MW3 is support the game with patches and DLC.

Only time will tell.

we should have no stopping power or rapid fire, everyone is forced to use juggernaut/painkillers, and knives are 2 hit kills :troll:

Just finished playing some MW2, and it makes me want this game even more after they've promised to fix all of the nonsense that went on. If MW3 is as polished and balanced as they say it'll be, including more gun on gun action and underpowered killstreaks, then I can't wait to stomp some bad kids.

If this game has no dedicated servers on the console versions then I'll seriously consider cancelling my pre-order. I'm not dealing with "connection interrupted" and "lost connection to host".
I second this I'm tired of being the only one on the team with 2-3 bars all the time while everyone else gets away with 4

so the spec ops video with that little clip at the end, I just watched a review of it and I was enlightened to some things I never noticed before. Not sure if you guys did but it hasnt been discussed here so Ill post it

The things I never noticed that he brought up was


-Pointstreaks, once youve gotten your highest one lets you reset and work up from the beginning, so you dont have to die and respawn to get streaks again.

-I had assumed the bouncing betty thing was an equipment but at closer look it might be a point streak, and when he got the kill with it he got juggernaut pointstreak, which means you can stack streaks from other streaks.....


wait wtf so those two combined, I can stack kills for pointstreaks AND get fresh pointstreaks after getting my highest one, its like a never ending pointstreak assuming my last one ***** lololol (unless kills from a past set of point streaks dont count towards new ones). But still, even if thats the case, time to camp :awesome:

I hope that kill streaks stack, I miss getting the high kill streaks from a low one.

It's not like making kill streaks stack or not even matters. People camped in MW2 to get their AC130/CG/Nuke while in Blops, people camped to get their blackbirds etc.

MW3 is looking good and we'll see the actual MP and details next month with CoD XP.

Hmmmm killstreak stacking? I always kind of wish that would happen just because I want more when I'm still alive and don't want to kill myself to get more, but I'm not sure if this would work well since they said they wanted more gun on gun gameplay

@hotarms: Don't forget, that was just speculation on what they think about the kill/point streak system in mw3. I really hope they aren't stackable, as well as being able to go through your kill/point streak setup multiple times in one life. That will definitely ruin mw3 imo.

Perk slot 1
Extreme conditioning: Spring longer distances (climb obstacles faster)
Sleight of Hand: faster reload (faster weapon swapping)
Scavenger: reload ammo from bags (more ammo to start)
Blind Eye undetectable to air support (launchers lock on faster, extra damage to support)
Recon: Explosive damage paints targets on minimap (Bullet damage paints targets on minimap)


Perk slot 2
Hardline: 1 less kill for killstreak (2 assists count as 1 kill for killstreak)
Assassin: immune to UAV portable radar, thermal Hbeat (Immune to CUAV and EMP)
Overkill: 2 primaries (2nd primary can be equipped with 2 attachments)
Quickdraw: Faster ADS (Fast recovery from equipment and nade use)
Blast shield: Flak Jacket (Immune to stuns and flashes)


Perk slot 3:
Sitrep: Hacker (Hear footsteps better)
Dead silence: Ninja (no fall damage)
Stalker: Faster movement while ADS (delay claymores)
Marksman: ID target from long range (longer hold breath time)
