Overall Game Features:

Single Player Campaign

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MW3

The game will immediately follow the events of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, where the Russian Federation continues its invasion of the United States of America, and has also expanded its offensive to Europe, including England, France and Germany. The game will see the return of Task Force 141 Captain John "Soap" MacTavish, former SAS Captain John Price and Russian informant Nikolai who are on the run after killing the rogue U.S. Army Lieutenant General Shepherd. Russian Ultranationalist Vladimir Makarov will also reprise as the game's primary antagonist.

Several new playable characters have been added, including Derek "Frost" Westbrook and Sandman, a pair of Delta Force operatives in New York City; Marcus Burns, a Sergeant in the Special Air Service fighting in London; and Yuri, a Russian federal security agent. Wallcroft from Call of Duty 4 will also return in the game.

New non-playable characters that have been confirmed so far include Truck and Grunt, who form part of the Delta Force fire team alongside Frost and Sandman. A Delta Force operative named Grinch was also announced (and will be voiced by Tobey Maguire)
Special Ops Mode

Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have revealed that Modern Warfare 3 will feature two modes: Mission mode (From MW2) and a new Survival mode.

Mission mode - Similar to the MW2 spec ops missions which features a variety of missions which contain different objectives. (i.e. Kill a certain number of enemies within a designated time limit, get from one point of the level to the other, defend an area from enemies for a set amount of time etc.)

Survival mode - A new mode featured in MW3 in which players must fend off waves of A.I. controlled on various MP maps. Each wave of enemies slowly become more difficult. Despite being much compared to the World at War Nazi Zombies mode, enemies do not spawn at fixed locations like the zombies do, but instead, at tactical positions based on the current location of the player. This mode will be available on all multiplayer maps in the game and players can earn "cash" for to unlock items such as weapons, upgrades and ammo.

Competitive Multiplayer:

MW3's multiplayer was revealed to the public during the Call of Duty XP event on September 2nd and 3rd, 2011. Attendees were able to get their hands on multiplayer gameplay two months before the game's release.

MW3 will contain previous game modes from the other CoD games (i.e. Team Deathmatch, FFA, Domination, Search and Destroy etc.) and new ones.

Some of the new game modes being introduced in MW3:

Kill confirmed - Requires players to collect floating dog tags from the corpse of a downed enemy before the kill can be registered. (However, the opposing team can pick up the dog tag as well to deny the other team of a kill.)

Team Defender - Both teams must try to cap a flag dropped by the first person who gets killed when the match starts, and hold it to accumulate points as long as possible.
Private matches also now include pre-made game modes including:

Infection - Where one random player is chosen as the "infected" and must kill enemies who are then "recruited" to their team.

Drop Zone - Where the player must hold a drop zone for points and care packages.

Team Juggernaut - Each team plays alongside an AI Juggernaut character.

Gun Game - Be the first player to get one kill with every gun in the game. Each kill cycles you to a different weapon and you work your way up.

One in the Chamber - Players are only allowed a pistol with only one bullet in the clip/magazine and three lives where they can only get more bullets by killing other players.

Along with this, players are allowed to create their own game modes with customized settings such as number of players and time limit and upload them for other players to download and play.
Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have also recently revealed that they have revamped the entire killstreak reward system. There are now 3 different "strike packages" for killstreaks called: Assault, Support, and Specialist.

The Assault strike package works the same as the default killstreak reward system in Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops offering offensive killstreaks like the predator drone and helicopters.

The Support strike package offers support-style rewards such as UAVs and SAM Turrets. Unlike previous games in the franchise, the support strike package will not make the player's killstreak reward reset upon death, but instead, accumulate over the course of a match. (i.e. Killing enemies, capturing flags etc.)

The Specialist strike package rewards players with perks instead of killstreaks. You get a new perk every two kills and after eight in a row, the player will receive every perk (All 14 perks except the overkill one.) in the game, but will reset back to none upon death.

Other MP info:

- Each prestige is now 80 levels and you can prestige 10 times.
- Weapon proficiencies have been added which allow for additional class and weapon customization. (i.e. Kick = reduced recoil, focus = reduced flinch when shot etc.)
- Each weapon now has it's own individual rank (weapon level) and in order to level up, the player needs to use its attachments, proficiencies and challenges.
- Camouflage can now be applied to secondary weapons.
- Players have the ability to scroll pointstreak rewards.
- Players' pointstreaks reset after their third pointstreak has been reached. (No need to die to start it over again.)
- Online split-screen is making a return from Black Ops in MW3.
- Theatre mode from Black Ops will be returning. (Improvements have been made.)

Perks:

Perks are once again in 3 Slots and will all be unlocked at different levels. (Pro Variants are listed in the brackets.)

Tier 1:

Recon - Explosive damage paints the target on the mini-map. When you injure enemies with grenades and other explosives, they will show up on your mini-map for the full duration of their injuries. (i.e. When their screen is flashing red.) (Pro version: On top of explosive damage, gunfire damage will also paint your enemies on the mini-map for the full duration of their injuries.)

Extreme Conditioning - Allows you to sprint for longer distances. (Not infinite like in MW2/Black Ops.) (Pro version: Climb obstacles faster.)

Blind Eye - Undetectable by air support and sentries. (Pro version: Launchers lock-on quicker and your bullets do more damage to air support and sentries.)

Sleight of Hand - Faster reloading. (Pro version: Switch between weapons faster.)

Scavenger - Allows you to resupply ammo from dead enemies and teammates. (Pro version: Allows you to resupply ammo and explosives from enemies.)

Tier 2:

Blast Shield - Increased explosive resistance. (Pro version: Increases your resistance to flash and stun grenades.)

Quickdraw - Faster transition from hip-fire to ADS. (Pro version: Recover from equipment and grenade usage quicker.)

Hardline - Killstreaks require one less kill. (Pro version: Every two assists counts as a kill towards your killstreak.)

Assassin - Remain undetected by UAVs, portable radar, thermal scopes and heartbeat sensors. (Pro version: Become immune to CUAVs and EMP killstreaks. When enemies aim at you, a red crosshair will not show up on their screen and auto-aim is disabled.)

Overkill - You are allowed to carry two primary weapons. (Pro version: One of the two primary weapons can have two attachments equipped.)

Tier 3:

Stalker - Faster movement while ADSing. (Pro version: Delayed enemy claymores explosion/detonation.)

Marksmen - Identify enemy targets at a longer range. (While sniping.) (Pro version: Hold breath longer while sniping.)

Sitrep - Detect enemy explosives and tactical insertions. (They flash a bright red on your screen. Also detects through walls/in buildings.) (Sitrep and dead silence cancel each other out.) (Pro version: Enemy footsteps are louder.)

Steady Aim - Increases your accuracy while firing from the hip. (Pro version: Weapon is ready/up faster after sprinting.)

Dead Silence - Move quietly. (Dead silence and sitrep cancel each other out.) (Pro: No fall damage.)

Death streaks :urg::

4 Deaths - Juiced (Faster sprinting for 7 seconds when you spawn.)

4 Deaths - Final Stand (Fall to the ground with your primary weapon. If you survival for this short period of time, you can get right back up and continue fighting. One bullet will kill you in final stand.)

4 Deaths - Martyrdom (Drop a live frag grenade when killed which can roll down surfaces. Has a tendency to roll towards enemies.)

5 Deaths - Revenge (Reveals the position of the enemy who last killed you on your mini-map.)

5 Deaths - Deadman's Hand (Fall into last stand when near death and have the option to blow yourself up with C4.)

5 Deaths - Hollow Points (Your bullets do more damage for a short amount of time. Basically, having the stopping power perks from previous CoD games.)

Killstreaks (Bold = new):

Assault Tier Killstreaks:

3 kills - UAV (Sweeps you and your team's mini-map every 3 seconds. Does not show assassin users.)
4 kills – Care Package (Gives you a random killstreak or ammo.)
5 kills – IMS (Intelligent Munitions System) (Gives you 4 placeable landmines that cannot be stunned or flashed.)

5 kills – Sentry Gun (Identical to the ones in MW2/Black Ops.)
6 kills – Precision Airstrike (Identical to the ones in MW2.)
7 kills – Attack Helicopter (Identical to the ones in CoD4/MW2. Flies around the map and fires upon enemies not using the blind eye perk.)
7 kills - Strafe Gun (New MW3 kill streak. Calls in 5 helicopters which will strafe from side to side at a specific point/location in the map and fire upon enemy players.)
9 kills – Little Bird Guard (New MW3 kill streak. A mini helicopter which the player can remote control and can spot/tag enemy players and attack them.)
10 kills - Assault Drone (A remote controlled turret that can move around the map and fire upon enemy players.)

Support Tier Killstreaks (Bold = new):

4 Kills – UAV
5 Kills – Counter UAV
5 Kills – Ballistic Vests (Drops a care package full of vests which teammates can pick up and equip. Gives the wearer(s) additional health (Like Juggernaut from CoD4) until you die.)
5 Kills – Airdrop Trap (Drops a hacked care package which blows up if an enemy tries to capture it.)
8 Kills – Sam Turret (Identical to the ones in Black Ops.)
10 Kills – Recon drone (Acts like a controllable UAV detects enemy positions.)

18 Kills – Juggernaught Recon (Airdrops enhanced Juggernaut armor equipped with a Riot Shield and the USP.45 handgun. Players wearing this armor will have enhanced damage resistance, and will also act as a mobile portable radar.)
18 Kills – Escort Airdrop (Identical to the osprey gunner assault pointstreak but here, you don't control it and it will stick around to guard the care packages it drops until they have been retrieved by you or teammates.)

Specialist Tier Killstreaks (You have the ability to choose which perks you get for every 2 kills):

2 Kills – You get 1 extra perk
4 Kills – Get another perk

F.A.Qs:

Q: How long is the single player campaign?
A: About 6-7 hours on normal difficulty.

Q: Was there a public multiplayer beta?
A: No. Infinity Ward did perform an internal beta like they previously did with MW2.

Q: Does this game have online split-screen multiplayer?
A: Yes. You can either sign into a guest or another Xbox LIVE gold member account. For PS3 players, you can only sign into a guest account for the second player. All stats/ranks/progression are lost when the guest is signed out for both systems.

Q: Are there Xbox LIVE party chat restrictions again?
A: Yes, but only for the core/hardcore SnD playlists.

Q: Are there searching options in online multiplayer? (i.e. globally and locally.)
A: Yes.

Q: Is there a co-op campaign in MW3?
A: No.

Please note that you do not need a paid CoD Elite subscription to play the game online or to purchase the DLC/map packs. Most of Elite's features will be free (i.e. stat tracking, videos, heat maps etc.) but a some will require you to pay to access them. It will cost $49.99 a year.

Note: All credit goes to their respected owner(s), I do not take any credit for any of the above information/images/videos etc. This thread is a work in progress and will be updated on a frequent basis.

MW3? My body is ready.

I actually follow the campaign in IW games, so this should be a good one. Let's hope they can get the MP right with this one and support it as well as Treyarch has black ops.

It's already been confirmed that they'll be using the same 'hot fix' patching system which Treyarch uses for Black Ops in MW3. :awesome:

Even MORE noobtubes?

Challange Accepted.

I'm glad they're gonna have a hotfix patching system with this though, I like that about black ops.

Hoping they continue the whole "throw sharp objects at people" thing they started with throwing knives in mw2 and then continued in black ops with tomahawks.

Because tryharding with bad weapons is fun :awesome:

Am I the only one who thinks the box art looks really ugly? Also, the finale being in Dubai seems a little weird. I thought we'd see an epic showdown vs. Makarov in Russia.

I feel like this game is gonna really make us fall in love with Modern Warfare again (much like the first one).

The developers know the mistakes they made with the multiplayer in MW2 and I'm positive they'll fix everyhing that went wrong with it and improve on it.

Let's not forget that most of the people who worked on MW2 are no longer with us....

At Infinity Ward.

Hmm, will wait a bit before I decide on this. Not too keen on any CoD game so I need to see what's new and different.

This is precisely why I didn't get Black Ops. Most of you are pretty CoD'ed out by now I assume... I haven't played CoD in foreverrrr...

At least we can all agree the campaign will be great! I can't wait!

I'm not big on getting into a game's prerelease hype, so I'll simply glance at this thread every so often. This way I don't get overhyped and spoil the game.

As for getting the game, I personally won't get it right away. However, my brother probably will, so I'll end up having it early on.

I hope this game's campaign is good. I did like, 2 levels of Black Ops. I've beaten MW1, W@W, and MW2 through on veteran, however. Didn't like the most recent one much.

Also hoping that they allow us to use certain secondary weapons as primaries. I would LOVE to have a pistol class with a Stinger/Strela type secondary.
Silenced M1911, anyone?

I'm expecting a launch trailer next month at E3 and an announcement of a public beta.

Next month's OPM (Official Playstation Magazine) is supposed to have MW3 as it's main story too so expect lots of new info next month! :)

Looking forward to the new and improved spec ops as well.

And here is the first teaser trailer of the game!!! (Titled "America Under Siege".)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_7_dYWMsL0&feature=player_embedded

And in the end Makarov says "One will destroy, the enemy's hope of victory".

**** YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
caps

Lemme elaborate before I get infracted upon...

Black Ops is boring and poopy.
MW2 died a while ago.
I steal a chandelier in Moscow.
I will go to this midnight release and speed home only to get arrested.
I break out of jail with a Tomahawk and a spork.
Then I go into hiding for three years while playing this game, still on the run from the police.
I meet a fine woman, we get married and it turns out her father is a police officer.
I'm arrested again and taken back to the same jail. Break out again using my Boo Hat and a My Little Pony horn.

I make my way to Italy, that's where I hid the chandelier.

Not really impressed so far.
Everything I'm seeing is just hype. No gameplay, etc.
Very interested in seeing multiplayer.
Except I only care about a couple things.
Rangers, for example.

Gotta have my knife. :)
Of course, I want a throwing something too.
Not a grenade. Throwing KNIFE or axe or something.

Man, I really hope Javelins return. Getting 500 kills with it was one of the hardest things I've ever done in a game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - France Teaser

And riot shields are likely to return in MW3...:urg: (Hopefully they stay in the single player campaign, I hate RS users in multiplayer...)

I will update the OP now. The game has basically been "unofficial confirmed" by Fourzerotwo and the "CALLOFDUTY" Youtube channel. Activision/Infinity Ward has not officially "announced/confirmed" the game yet tho...

Def. liking some of the new weapons. MP5 looks muchhhh better.

How are people not excited? Did you not see the G36C? >__________________>
Still...no screenies of Riot Shields. This is frightening. :c

Sheeeeeeeeeeey F8AL you beat me to the punch. How can you hate Riot Shielders? Mr. Bear, fatwad, ODIN, and you were my favorite Javelineers.

I dunno, in my opinion, it just slowed down the overall gameplay. CoD is a "run and gun" kind of game. And I told you guys, I never used the javelin in MW2! :scared:

Looking forward to all the new weapons in MW3! The MP5 looks sick! (They will probably show off a live demo of the game at E3 so I'm really excited.)

Last Stand needs to return. That is the freaking best perk in MW2.
