COOL PACMAN FACTS
- Upon its initial release in Japan, Pac-Man was called Puck-Man. They changed this to Pac-Man in fears the arcade machines would be vandalised to say "UK-Man", which would make small children scared of losing their teeth
- Pac-In-Time is a reskin of an Amiga game named after the reaction to Lola Bunny's redesign in Space Jam: A New Legacy
- Years after the 1981 top 10 hit album Pac-Man Fever, one hit wonders Buckner & Garcia tried their hands at more video game-related songs. Legal issues prevented Bomb Jack 2 Bop, EarthBound Boogie, and Sonic 3K Out among others from ever seeing the light of day.
- When Google celebrated the 30th anniversary of Pac-Man in 2010 with a special interactive Google Doodle, it cost the United States of America's economy $120M in productivity. Good.
- Ms. Pac-Man was originally concieved as a bootleg expansion for Pac-Man titled Crazy Otto, before becoming offically sanctioned by Midway as a sequel to Pac-Man starring a gender-swapped version of the main protagonist. Out of a job and missing out on any royalties from the arcade megahit, Otto would unsuccessfully attempt suicide and leave the gaming industry. He now works as a school bus driver in the town of Springfield, struggling with drug addiction but still trying his hardest to make ends meet
- There was a cancelled Pac-Man game planned for 1983 called Count Pacula in which the player, a vampire Pac-Man, would try to transform the Pac-Man characters into vampires and turn them against their family. This was cancelled after the developer who pitched the idea was found hoarding human body parts in his freezer.
