Me and a friend on another site have been brainstorming a fake game - a very uh... peculiar fake game to say the least.
For my version of the roster, I had a bit of a dialema - I've always disliked how art in the stuff I'm into is so female-centric, but my roster is also mostly female!
How do I fix this? Simple: turn most of the conventionally attractive tall adult women into men. You may call it "isolating the main target audience if this game was to somehow exist" - but I also call it "isolating the main target audience if this game was to somehow exist"! That leaves me with a perfect 18-to-18 gender split.

One of my biggest fears for my future game project is people will think the "co-oops" multiplayer mode was inspired by Super Mario Galaxy 2 when it was actually inspired by Bubsy 3D

In the long run, good marketing usually leaves a worse effect on a game's reputation than bad marketing. We can just laugh off Yoshi's Island being advertised with a guy dying through over-eating or Kirby shooting a ballistic missile at a cat, but people assuming Sonic is supposed to run at hyperspeed as soon as you flick a button or the goal of Pokemon is to get every single creature will linger for the rest of these series' existences.

IMO the best thing about Waluigi is that he's simulataniously a blank slate and a very specific character. You've got the basic ground rules of "cheats at sports, plans elaborate schemes, makes loud noises, and holds grudges - including towards himself" but then you can headcanon everything else. Some people might want to view Waluigi as the embodiment of pure hatred, others may see him as a geniunely nice guy who's a little muddled, and some will view him as a mildly anti-social annoyance nobody likes, and that's the beauty of Waluigi's character. He's a blank slate with limitations.

What does a 2.5D platformer even mean? A linear 3D platformer? A 2D platformer with 3D graphics? A 2D platformer where you can interact with the background?
