Minecraft Earth has a track in Smash, which I guess makes it, Looksley’s Line Up, and Saru Band tied for first game represented in Smash to become legally inaccessible.
Is it just me or are CPUs way better on custom stages?
I’ve not actually made a game yet so maybe this philosophy will blow up in my face, but my approach to game design is “don’t be afraid to be seen as backwards”. I want to make retro games today, not today’s retro games.
Most of the jokes in OneyPlays are just them acknowledging some piece of obscure, cheesy media, then quoting it in a funny voice.
Either way it works so I can’t criticise.

I Googled “where does sonic live” and the first result was Iizuka saying Sonic is literally homeless.
Say what you will about Activision, but the way they and their teams treat Crash should be used as a guideline for all long running platformer franchises. Pretty much every criticism people have about recent Mario, Sonic, e.t.c. titles in terms of world-building is addressed by Crash.
Bubsy was a well intentioned attempt to pay tribute to Sonic, but was screwed over by a money hungry publisher and a lack of game design knowledge. Most of Bubsy 1’s infamous flaws can be explained with the knowledge Michael Berlyn began his career making text adventures, which are more trial-and-error and wits based than on reflexes or skill. Bubsy also understood the Sonic momentum physics a lot better than most Sonic clones and even a lot of later official Sonic games.
Hammer Bros in 2D Mario vs. Hammer Bro in 3D Mario is a perfect example of “buff Doge vs. crying Cheems”
If you call people who eat meat murderers you’re more trivialising murder than demonising meat.
I don’t know how Vailskibum manages to fit so much filler into 2 minute videos. Most of his videos could literally be compressed into Vines, which is a shame since he often reports on cartoon news that can be quite hard to access due to being so niche.
Pretty much every Star Wars line that isn’t a meme was a “nerd in-joke” beforehand. It’s just the same thing with a few extra layers of self-awareness, which applies to most modern memes compared to older memes or forms of humour.
“Wait, Rampage was based on a game?” - literally everyone in 2018.
Guru Larry’s Miyamoto video is filled with inaccuracies, but it’d make for a great redo/re-evaluation, since some of the info there is legit and new info has come to light since. I think Nintendo just isn’t a spot Bundy is familiar with.
Meanwhile, in an alternate universe where all those revamps of Project Dream ate into the budget so much, Rareware needed another big movie tie in to recoop the losses.
I love the idea of a villain redemption arc where instead of being all philosophical it’s just a wacky Saturday morning cartoon villain trying to do good things but resorting to over exaggerated or slightly malicious solutions since they’ve only known a life of villainy. I love concepts like that that are hilarious but also a little heartwarming. Kinda wish they did something like that with Dingodile in Crash 4 (though I still really like how he turned out in that game)
TBH 2020 has been a really good year for me.

Sausage Party is such a strange film to me - the whole concept is “what if there were Pixar movies for adults?” but like, there’s already a whole studio that makes Pixar movies for adults. They’re called Pixar.
Olive Garden was a good choice for the Sonic movie’s product placement given that if I wasn’t familiar with American restaurants before hand I’d totally assume it to be a zone name from a Sonic game I never played.
Lloyd from Mother and Jeff from EarthBound would both make really cool fighters. They’d do the same things, but I like Lloyd better so I’d go with him. Ninten doesn’t strike me as having an interesting moveset so I’d prefer Lloyd as a Beginnings rep.
It’s kinda disturbing how on the comments of the fake anti-piracy screens there are people defending the fictional, obviously evil Nintendo. Really goes to show how insane brand loyalty can be.

I think WAY too much about how sexual dimorphism works in the Mario universe, like these characters are the same species from the same series:
Why would Mario characters even need a sex? They deliver babies by stork, therefore sexuality isn’t a thing - makes sense, E rated fantasy world - which you would assume means the Mario universe doesn’t need sexes, just genders - but there are Mario characters who are explicitly stated to be transgender, meaning they had to be assigned something at birth - HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Maybe I just don’t understand the term, but I can’t really see where the idea of Soul being a “white saviour” movie comes from. To me it came off more as a film where both main characters saved each other. -
