why did they do this? nintendo accessability options are kinda crap in general - and despite what some will tell you, smash isn't exempt from that - but like.... what?? why?????

Something I hate about Smash Remix: you can't use hitbox visualisers as character skins like you can skeletons. I would use those so much.

Just realised that Bubsy is probably the only "mascot" platformer series with a higher female-to-male main villain ratio. There have only been two main male Bubsy villains (Oinker, Hansel) and one of them is in a team with a female character vs. either 3 or 4 female villains (Ally Cassanda, Gretel, Poly and Ester). Even if you were to go for lowballs rigged in favor of male, (Hansel and Gretel are a single unit and classed as male, Poly and Ester are a single unit) you still have an even split.
i was gonna make a joke about switch 2 bricking essentially being fake consequences, but that's what most "justice" is really - if you do The Bad Thing, you will face the Consequences that aren't actually caused by or connected to The Bad Thing. we made them up. We Are Going To Beat You To Death. personally. you have nobody to blame but Us. We're Evil. it's not nuanced.

I think it's funny that whenever a new techbro trend pops up, Nintendo's response is essentially just "Uhh... we're not into that. Good for you if you do though. Never say never I guess." and people respond "HELL YEAH BROTHER NINTENDO SHOWED THOSE GUYS WHAT FOR!!!!"

I don't think there's such a thing as a "joke character", but if we're to entertain the idea, I'd honestly say that the joke wearing off is a healthy part of that character's existence and not some kind of counterpoint to the concept - Going from "really? the Wii Fit Trainer?" to just acknowledging her as another member of the cast without any particular comedic response feels almost like an unintentional meta-narrative underdog story, not a failing of the character's inclusion (even if it may be a failing of the intent behind the inclusion looking at how Sakurai specifically has said he does things).

It's kinda funny that Minions are considered the gold standard for all that is mainstream and safe when those films are filled to the brim with (and to an extent built on a foundation of) dark comedy, especially the first spin-off movie. I'm not saying that's a wrong assessment, far from it, but it's interesting to think that we've come so far from the culture where showing toilets or shared beds on TV was considered scandalous to one where a film that shows creatures using a noose and electric chair like playground equipment in a torture chamber could be considered strictly "kid stuff"

I don't know if it's true whether VVVVVV was inspired by Wendy: Every Witch Way or not, but I think the idea I saw in some random YouTube comment that "VVVVVV" is a subtle acronym standing for "VVendy VVitch VVay" is too funny not to headcanon.

I think the reason I dislike Smash Wii U being classified as "Smash 4" and not "Smash 5" is because it reinforces the idea that characters are the centralisingly important part of Smash rather than one of many parts making a whole.
I had a dream where I was preserving a Will & Dewitt (old cartoon made to sell TP) flash game and went insane trying to find the credits, and when I found them they were just placeholder ipsum text copied from Smash 64's credits.

I was thinking about the concept of Bowser's Lair Hockey in Smash, and now I think about it... that's a legitimately interesting game to take from for a Smash story mode if it was to really address the tonal disparity between its source materials, it would make a kinda fun visual metaphor if say, Samus, has to have an arc of realising that Bowser isn't Ridley and Mario isn't naive for accepting his help, and raids his lair only to discover a pleasant upper-middle-class house.

Since I went on that big tangent about Duck Hunt designs recently, I'm tempted to go into a tangent about Stanley designs, but like... what is there to say? There's The Good One and The Bad One and for some reason every time he pops up, both in fanon and canon, they use The Bad One.

I had a dream where I discovered a lost Game & Watch game called "Football" - it was a clone of Oil Panic, but instead of oil it was footballs falling through cracks in the ceiling, they would convert into oil when picked up, and then when dumped into the barrel they were just too hot for the guy holding the barrel to handle and scorched him even it landed, so it was an instant lose.
