Why is it that Crazy Taxi is literally the only Sega franchise they care about staunchly "protecting the copyright" of? Why are Sonic inspired games and even fan games fine if not encouraged, whereas taking cues from Crazy Taxi gets you a lawsuit on a plate?

Cramming a tiny screen and Raspberry Pi into a Game Boy Colour isn't impressive at all when stuff like this exists.
For some reason a lot of people seem to think early gaming history is just "Computer Space. Pong. Space Invaders. Magnavox Odyssey. Pac-Man. Mario. Zelda. Sonic" when it's MUCH more complex and long than that. I feel this narrative is often pushed to exaggerate the historical importance of series like Metroid, Mega Man, and Crash Bandicoot that didn't really do much for gaming outside their own genres.
Given how many memes went around about the British-ness of Galar, I can only imagine the reaction to an Australia region.
I just read the plot synopsis for Bugsnax and I don't know why people think it's so dark. Maybe the imagery is more unsettling than the actual themes? Either way, it seems to me like a relatively standard kids' spooky story with a somewhat shocking twist.
