Playing through Cookie Clicker, and it's really weird how this of all things does get a lot better once you start considering strategy and not just saving for the strongest items over and over again (though I don't get the point of selling items)

Been thinking about Link and Zelda's Smash redesigns lately... don't crucify me for this but uhh...
I don't think Young Cranky should just be an echo anymore
If an Angry Birds or Crash character ever got in Smash, they should be able to destroy the blast boxes with any kind of single hit. It's a source accurate easter egg that's both non-intrusive in competitive play, but also really adds a tiny bit of extra strategy to casual play instead of being completely inconsequential/marginal.
I think the whole "Marge goes back in time to assassinate Hitler while he watches Dumbo" thing in the modern Simpsons analysis is the first time a predictable "yep, of course that's a real episode!" video essayist joke has actually shocked me
Of all the completionist picks (Toad, Meowth, Ninten, e.t.c.), I think the most interesting ones are the two nobody really discusses: Peppy and Slippy.
A weird amount of people seem to be convinced that self-deprecating marketing only popped up in the 2010s with the advent of social media, and not that a good 40-to-50% of reboots and franchise continuations in the 90s and 2000s didn't market themselves with characters from the original being turned off on TV or violently attacked by the new incarnations.
