In a weird sense I feel like Tails is a case where like, Smash Fangames have scratched the itch for Tails in smash? Like maybe I'm crazy but I feel like if he wasn't in the two big smash fangames he'd be a bit more requested.
This is really just a oddball crackshot theory that contradicts the generally more true statement that being in a fangame INCREASES fan demand, but idk, it just feels right that for Tails specifically people go "oh he's in ssf2 that's cool I'm satisfied"

I think if Sonic got a second character Knuckles, Eggman and Shadow would all be fine picks but if they got a third character at that point it’s gotta be Tails. Can’t have too many traditionally cool characters.
