When I saw this, I had a nightmare about valid copyright notices the same night.
How a platfighter rep in Smash should go:

who are all the videos where people animate voice actors cursing to their other family-friendly characters censored, like doesn't that defeat the point.
Cartoon reviewers are always waxing about morality, about how no crime should go unpunished and no good deed should go unrewarded (completely missing either the concept of relatable comedy or the concept of allegory in the process), but as soon as this literal 4 year old with no emotional regulation comes up, they create some very uncomfortably violent fantasies.

If copyright still had to be manually renewed after 28 years, I'm not 100% confident that Nintendo would let its wacky So Obscure IPs like Stunt Race FX or Mole Mania or whatever become public domain - HOWEVER, there is no way this guy would still be copyrighted (at least in the US) post-2021.
This is NOT the detail I should be focusing on at all, but one of the Nintendo whistleblower reports mentioned that Nintendo (of America at least) does not have a lore database and instead just asks devs to use fan wikis.

I know "public domain horror movies are an astroturfing campaign to make people oppose the public domain" is an obvious joke theory, and I've always defended the right for what I call "Poohsploitation" films to exist, but... god damn. i was about to post about how proud i am of having nominated the expired cow, the rtc character between all threads with the lowest chance and want, getting 0s in both chance and want from all participants, but i found out that mvs rtc has multiple characters who nobody bothered to rate so technically they beat the expired cow - with the first to claim such a prestiege being larry david.
You wanna know the Mario sub-series that actually WOULD benefit from the Nintendo crossover treatment? Game & Watch Gallery. Maybe I'm just biased as a Reskin Enjoyer, but Octopus with Link sneaking past a Guardian or Manhole with Animal Crossing characters would be awesome
