This is probably the most garbage take I've ever made.

But if the Final Boss Phase 2 theme of Dragalia Lost gets included in the soundtrack of a future Smash Game, I kind of hope it gets a remix.

The regular version is indeed quite good. But personally, I always felt it was a little slow. Whenever I listen to it on Youtube, I always set it to play at 1.25x speed because it sounds more "high octane action" that way.

An absolute me problem, so I will most certainly not complain if this doesn't happen, but I do think it would be nice.

A new game in the Mario & Luigi series isn’t exactly the pinnacle of being likely to happen.

Which is sad to admit, but also very understandable in terms of the reasoning.

The last entry in the series didn’t do that great in sales and Alphadream went bankrupt shortly after.

Given those circumstances, it makes sense that Nintendo would want to wait a while before trying to delve into the series again.

If the next Paper Mario game is in fact another RPG in the style of the first two, then it will be very, VERY funny if the reveal trailer shows a Chain Chomp tearing up a sticker album.

One of the most illogical complaints someone can make about the story of an RPG is having a problem with a character doing things that make them a hypocrite.

I mean come on, it’s an RPG. You shouldn’t be surprised to see a Hippo deal a Crit.

So I tried looking up the name of the tower itself in Pizza Tower and as far as I can tell, said tower is in fact just called "Pizza Tower". Is that right?

There was a conversation going on once in a discord server I’m in in that was about Richter.

Someone accidentally misspelled Richters name and one of the people in the conversation said “His ass cannot spell” in response.

I responded to that by saying “I mean, Ricther was never a mage in the first place. So it's not too surprising that his butt can't perform magic.”

I don’t know who else has thought of this idea. But I know that the idea has crossed my mind of a Paper Mario 1 & 2 remaster bundle that includes Luigi’s adventure in the waffle kingdom as a small side campaign ala Bowser’s Fury.

If they were to do this, that campaign would pull a Link’s Awakening in two different ways.

The first is that it would all be a dream. Which makes since Luigi made up all those stories in TTYD.

And the 2nd is that Princess Eclair’s appearance would look a lot like Daisy. Just like how Marin was intended to look a lot like Zelda.

What was name of that one guy at Nintendo who people seem to think was responsible for Paper Mario placing less importance on things like Story and Unique Characters?

I know it's not Miyamoto, but I honestly can't remember who the guy people say was behind this stuff is.

With how often the EAC Thread gets updated, I still have a notable amount of stuff to write down to be properly prepared for when certain characters have their turn.

But I'm all set and ready to go for the next batch of Peach, Daisy, and Bowser. And if I'm understanding things right that batch should be getting started pretty soon.

Can I ask you guys something? How do you typically keep up with new game announcements?

Most of the lesser known examples I ended up hearing about over the years I did so via things like Twitter and Content Creators.

But in the modern day, I avoid twitter like the plague and my opinion has soured of too many of the content creators I followed a few years back.

As a result I did keep myself out of the loop with the Video Game scene for about a year, so maybe I just need time to re-adjust. But right now I kind of feel like the main announcements I can get about gaming are from Nintendo Directs and my subscriptions to the youtube channels for Yacht Club and Inti Creates.

And those can't cover everything. Take this game called Infernax for example. That's a game I've been wanting to try ever since I first heard about it. But the way I did hear about it was from a streamer who I'm hesitant to go back to following.

I’ll be honest with you guys. I don’t hate the Mario Finale. I know a lot of people want Mario’s Final Smash to be changed to something else, but the overall concept of Mario Finale is basically a Super powered version of one of his power-ups. His most iconic one at that.

And there are examples where a “super version” of a move really works for a Final Smash. I saw a moveset concept for Cleo from Dragalia Lost once that did just that and it was a really good idea.

And while the examples I’m about to mention don’t have the basic versions in their moveset. Incineroar and Byleth do have super versions of notable attacks from their games as final smashes as well.

I do think that in execution, the Mario Finale could be buffed into being a more reliable kill move, and I won’t deny that I’ve come up with a version of the “super fire flower” concept that feels truer to source material from the Mario games (though the RPG’s specifically which might provide its own brand of issue) but I don’t dislike the Mario Finale we have now.

The chef from burger time would make a pretty good Mii costume.

Heck, if you wanted to you could make it one for all 3 types.

Brawler is easy enough to envision.

Give him a Spatula for the Swordfighter.

And for the gunner, make his arm cannon a giant salt shaker.

Back when Smash 3DS was released, but Smash Wii U wasn't, I managed to get every custom move in the 3DS version before the Wii U version even came out.

My most effective method for it was Smash Run because after a while I started noticing that certain moves seemed to have a better chance of acquisition if I finished in either 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, rather than 1st, with the character whose moves I was aiming for.

I have no idea if such a thing actually has an impact on that, but it certainly felt like it.

You know Yoko Taro? The creator of the Nier series? Which consists of games like Nier Automata?

Guess what? She and and Sega are working together to create a new mobile game.

What's the game about? It's about a bunch of waifu's themed after Sega IPs taking on an evil version of Sega that control's the world.

If you think I'm kidding when I say this, to be honest I wouldn't blame you.

Which makes it all the more crazy that I'm not.

With how many people there are lately that explore the idea of Alternate Universes for their fandoms, and how said Alternate Universes are abbreviated as AU, the dish of Potatoes Au Gratin now sounds very weird to me.

So. Raiden, the god of thunder. Specifically, the one from the Mortal Kombat games.

You may or may not already know, but Mortal Kombat had a cartoon back in the 90's. A fact that I've been aware of for a couple of years now.

What I wasn't aware of until I found out just now, is that Raiden in that cartoon was voiced by Clancy Brown. AKA the same guy who voices Mr. Krabs in Spongebob.

So, the post I made earlier today about a fake unlocking method for Waluigi in Super Mario 64 DS?

Well I saw that fake leak or whatever you call it a long time ago and for the unlock method it said "Find all the Power Stars and be the Fastest Runner in all the land".

Ever since I saw that image, the "fastest runner in all the land" part made me think of Sonic. From that day onward I had the idea of another Mario 64 Remake with 4 playable characters, but this time those characters would be the mascots for each of the 4 major console makers in history.

Mario for Nintendo
Sonic for Sega
Crash for Playstation
Master Chief for Xbox

Obviously this will never actually happen. Collaboration issues aside, having Crash as the Playstation Mascot is a little iffy in terms of it works nowadays, Sega eventually ended up dropping out of the console market, and let's be real here, Sonic's speed would make him nigh unplayable in over half of the levels of Mario 64.

But it was a fun idea to think of at the time. And to be honest, the image of Master Chief running around Mario 64 courses jumping on Goomba's is pretty darn funny.

I've seen the argument a couple of times in the past that Diddy Kong's Down B should use the Orange Grenade's instead of the Banana Peel since the Orange Grenades actually come from a Donkey Kong Game (Donkey Kong 64) while the Banana Peels are a Mario Kart Item.

Personally I'm ok with either option, but what about you guys? Have a preference for one or the other or are you also good with either?

If I recall correctly there are a lot of fake leaks (or whatever the proper term is) out there for how to unlock Waluigi in Super Mario 64 DS.

The first one I ever saw talked about the method for unlocking Waluigi, how his Jump would be different from all the other characters, and my favorite part, what his Power-Up from the Power Flower would be.

It said that it would make him move super fast and referred to this powered up state as "Warpspeed Waluigi"

That is an amazing name.

So an idea has entered my brain for a new final smash for Mario. But it’s more of a preliminary thought than a fully thought out concept.

The name of this Final Smash is “Super Star”. Does it actually involve the Super Star Power-Up?

Well………yes, no, and maybe.

The idea is to trap opponents ala Jungle Rush and assault them with a barrage of attacks that involve Mario activating a bunch of power-ups in quick succession.

But like I said, this just a preliminary thought. I haven’t determined what I think in terms of which power-ups would be used, what the animation would look like, or even how fast the animation would go.

Have there been any new stage creation contests started up on here lately? I hosted one for the year leading up to Ultimate, but this time I’d rather compete than host.

I'm not usually one for topics that revolve around gaming controversy, but I gotta be honest, I'm curious about this one.

Has anything happened with David Jaffe that further damaged the dudes reputation? I know a lot of people cringed at his bad takes about Metroid Dread. But that's all I know of.

I've been playing Pokemon Legends Arceus lately and it's been giving me a serious craving for Potato Mochi.

So do any of you have examples of a game that you wouldn't want to get the major examples of representation in Smash such as a stage and especially a playable character, be it because you find the game bad or the idea just doesn't appeal to you or whatever other reason, but that game has a music track that would not mind being available in Smash?

In my case, I am not in support of the idea of a character or stage from Mighty No. 9, but man that boss battle theme slaps.

As easy as it is for me to be convinced that a character would be an awesome playable character in Super Smash Bros, there do exist characters out there that I feel are better suited to other roles that aren't being a playable character.

I have 3 examples to share today.

The first is the, well, hero from Little Town Hero. Now I have not played that game nor have I found a review that gets me to understand why people didn't like it. So the negative reception the game has received may very well be unjust. But either way it's still there. So I kind of feel like the main character from this game should be an assist trophy and/or mii costume at best.

My second example is Fossil Fighters. If there exists a fan-made concept out there that renders the point I'm about to make null and void then by all means, share it and prove me wrong. But right now Fossil Fighters is the kind of game where I feel like the appeal comes from the Dinosaurs and not the humans. And I kind of feel like the dinosaur's from that game are better for the assist trophy role. Or perhaps even a boss.

And the third example I have is Kracko from the Kirby games. At initial glance you'd think he wouldn't work as a fighter just by design. But I'm in a discord server where a group of people came together one time and actually pulled off a concept that makes him work as a fighter.

Even so, I feel he's better suited as a boss.

As much as I like the Azure Striker Gunvolt games, I do find it odd just how many name changes are present in the English version of the series.

A few examples include how “Copen” in America is “Acura” in Japan.

“The Muse” in America is “The Cyber Diva” in Japan

Even the franchises name of “Azure Striker Gunvolt” in America is “Armed Blue Gunvolt” in Japan.

I’ve gotten used to it to the point of where it doesn’t bother me. But I do still find it a bit odd that this happened.

When I beat Blaster Master Zero for the first time, it was at 100%. So I got the true ending. AKA the good ending.

As a result, I went a noticeably long time after beating the game without ever seeing the bad ending.

Then one day curiosity struck and I decided to look up the bad ending on YouTube.

Ever since that day I’ve been super glad it’s not the ending I got on my first playthrough because damn is it heartbreaking.

For as much flak as EA gets they are still kicking and have been around for a long time.

I don't know about you guys, but I think I would need some time to fully process it if EA ever does actually kick the bucket.

Yooka-Laylee made itself known by being the Spiritual Successor to Banjo-Kazooie. But I like how Impossible Lair instead went with the style of Donkey Kong Country.

Playtonic is made of former Rare employees so Impossible Lair having that style helps give it the aura of the good ol Rareware classics.

In a similar vein, I would love to see a Yooka-Laylee Racing that takes a few pages from Diddy Kong Racing.

The roster of such a kart racer COULD just be made up of Yooka-Laylee characters. But I would much rather the only YL characters being Yooka & Laylee themselves (as 1 racer) while all the other characters are brand new ones with the intent of giving them their own games in the future.

Which is exactly what the roster of Diddy Kong Racing did.

Is anyone else having this problem where you try to leave a profile post but sometimes instead of posting what you typed up the site gives you some weird cookie or security error that ends up getting rid of what you typed without actually posting it?

That’s been happening to me and I’m thinking about bringing it up to the staff, but I want to make sure it’s not just me first.

We all know how the Bloodstained Series is the Spiritual Successor to Castlevania.

And the first Bloodstained game to ever be revealed was Ritual of the Night. A metroidvania that stars Miriam.

But the first Bloodstained game to actually be released was Curse of the Moon. A vintagevania that instead stars Zangetsu. And curse of the moon got a sequel that is again a vintagevania and again stars Zangetsu.

So it kind of feels like Bloodstained is the spiritual successor to Castlevania in two different ways.

Miriam is the Spiritual Successor to Alucard
And Zangetsu the successor to Simon Belmont.

I remember before Pokémon Sun & Moon came out a YouTuber by the name of Fawful’s Minion made a Top 100 of his favorite Pokémon. Darkrai got the number 1 spot.

Then after Sun & Moon came out, he made a Top 10 of his favorite Alola Pokémon and when he got to number 1, he revealed that Tapu Koko usurped Darkrai’s throne as his overall favorite.

A little after he posted that video he left a tweet on Twitter calling out some guy who was giving him crap for changing his favorite Pokémon.

That guy said in his tweet “You Fukken Sellout”. And yes, he did actually spell it as “Fukken”.

I replied to FM’s tweet saying “Fukken? Sounds like some weird new attack for Ryu and Ken.”

And that reply I left got two really good replies to it.

One of them was saying how Fukken also sounds like a NSFW spin-off of Tekken.

And the other just said “Shin! Fu! Ken!”

With how many of their games involve digging, like Shovel Knight and their upcoming game Mina the Hollower, Yacht Club Games is pretty much the Earth Element video game company.

So which companies would be the ones for Fire, Wind, and Water at that point?

I support the idea of the RPG characters being added into Mario Kart but there is one aspect of the Mario Kart games that might be a mixed bag for fans of those RPG characters.

That aspect is the character variations that Mario Kart tends to do.

I say this might be a mixed bag for people because on the one hand this does technically mean more attention and content to the RPG characters. Like if they pull it off right a Prince Peasley variant of him grown up to be King Peasley could very well be glorious.

But on the other hand the typical variants Mario Kart usually does give us like Baby Daisy, Baby Rosalina, and Pink Gold Peach aren't exactly viewed upon with praise.

Skateboarding, Bodyboarding, Surfboarding (yes I know it’s called surfing).

What would it be like if a sport was made out of Smashboarding?

How would you feel about certain characters needing to pull moves from their games that are scorned by fans?

Take Spyro the Dragon and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger for example.

Both of those characters are easy to figure out specials for. But for standard moves, well in Spyro’s case you have those Dragon Kata martial arts from Shadow Legacy and the Legend of Spyro trilogy. Neither of which are very favored games in the franchise.

As for Ty, well to be honest the reception for that overall franchise is debatable but either way Ty 3 is often considered the weakest of the trilogy. Yet it introduced melee combat that would work quite well for standard attacks in Smash.

So I’m curious as to how people feel about the need to pull from those disliked games for the characters to have standard attacks.

Assuming that is actually a need.

I don't need to explain how there are people out there who want more Wario Land in Wario's moveset. We all know this is the case already.

That being said, I've had a fear for a notable amount of time that trying to mix both Warioware and Wario Land into one Smash moveset might feel too much like a cluttered mess.

I'm not an expert on character design for Smash, so maybe it can be pulled off just fine. But in the event that this is actually the case, I've had an idea for a while about an alternative option.

Smash already has two Mario's with Mario and Dr. Mario
As well as two Samus's with Samus and Zero Suit Samus

So the idea I thought of is to keep Wario as is, but add a 2nd Wario that's entirely Wario Land based. I honestly think it's a solid idea. The part I haven't completely settled on is a name.

I'm thinking "Treasure Hunter Wario" but maybe there's something better out there.

And to quickly address the possible problem of not being able to visually tell the difference between him and regular Wario wearing the traditional overalls outfit, I have a solution for that as well.

If Kamek and Shy Guy ever became playable in Smash Bros. would they have the series symbol and victory themes of the Mario series or the Yoshi series?

And if Mario in Kamek's case, would he actually be called Kamek or would he would be called Magikoopa?
