After playing Slap City, I find it even more ridiculous that people call NASB "derivative" of Smash - Slap City is a game I'm pretty comfortable calling a "Smash clone" (non-derogatory), if you're playing casually the only real mechanical difference is the single Air Smash each character has, the differences lie beneath the surface for hardcore players to discover - NASB, on the other hand, is almost as mechanically distant from Smash (modern or golden age) as you can get without doing some PSASBR "only supers kill" BS, only behind Rivals.

I honestly don't think a Gex trilogy remake is a good idea, mostly because the version of TV depicted in Gex is extremely outdated to the current media landscape, not a problem on it's own (maybe part of the charm even), but when combined with the fact that Gex is known for quoting and referencing media you're left at a crossroads - either have him make the old references to Gilligan's Island and Happy Days that nobody in the T-rating demographic will get anymore, or have him make new references to Rick & Morty and Stranger Things without the game world acknowledging streaming is a thing. The fact the first game is a 2D platformer and the series contains some kinda racist character designs also hurts the idea a little (the latter wasn't an issue for Crash though)
That being said, an all-new Gex game? Bring it on!
Hugh's release tagline in NASB is really lame - "Hugh ducks in?" what does that even mean? At least go for like, "Hugh ducks and covers!"

I don't know what to make of Bigmode. I think I'll have to wait until they release their first few games. The "strict quality control" could either be disasterous or brilliant. I certainly don't doubt the YouTube funnyman's ability to run this sort of thing, it's not good to pigeonhole, but I also don't want to immediately assume it'll go well because the YouTube funnyman is behind it or there's an anti-NFT rule on their submission forum.

You'd think NASB to Slap City would be a direct downgrade or upgrade, but I don't think it's either. In fact, I'd even be willing to say that, like I've often said about MVS and NASB, it's not fair to compare them. Like, yeah, they run on the same engine, but so do Syphon Filter and Bubsy 3D. (not saying either of these games is a Bubsy 3D parallel of course, just that NASB is not a sequel to Slap)

Modern Smash fans mocking NASB fans for the whole "Smash Killer" thing is kinda hypocritical when they pull the "Melee Killer" schtick at every new game's launch.
TBH I'd prefer Rabbids - as in regular Rabbids, not the Mario ones - in Smash over Rayman. I think a fighter who's entire moveset is randum XD 2009 kiddie jokes would be utterly iconic.

I think my biggest regret with SMSB was not having a Bowser's Castle stage included by default with details about it specifically being a later job. I'm not too pleased with how the stage turned out conceptually (no offense, Janx) and even if I did like it it'd be kinda unfair that it only really got in on virtue of being the first submission of an extremely obvious concept - though I will certainly say it's better than the layout I made for the NES Bowser's Castle stage, which I really should've thought out a little more before submitting, reminds me a lot of those cursed Melee beta stages with it's ridiculous hazard and dumb wall placement.

I love it when cartoon crossovers have to create a villain team between multiple shows with wildly different tones, and thus end up having a samurai warlord and wild west outlaw team up with a pubescant playground bully and bootleg action figure merchant or something like that.

This is an extremely controversial take, even by "criticism of Sonic Mania" standards, but I think the biggest flaw of Mania was the lack of any slow-paced Marble Zone-y stages. I absolutely love those sorts of zones because you can memorise them and eventually play them just as fast as the other zones.
My second biggest problem with Mania is actually a little less controversial but also a little contradictory to what I just said, I feel the bosses. despite their visual spectacle and deep cut throwbacks, are too slow, with no method to get through them faster. (other than iframes, which IMO don't count) Spark the Electric Jester handled fast paced platformer bosses better IMO.

Honestly, I do kinda understand why the Pokémon Company would have an issue with an official Nuzlocke run given how it's premise revolves around Pokémon death.
I had a dream where I modded a Wii and it had the option to Wonder Trade mod packs - I ended up with a Brawl mod that contained Staryu (as a Kirby model swap IIRC), Pink Gold Peach (who was actually just a transparent PNG of Pink Gold Peach copy-pasted over Peach's model), and an original character named "Powdered Shoe Man" (which was Powdered Toast Man's NASB model with his head replaced with a faceless shoe, and the textures of his clothes changed to look like dilapidated bug-infested carpets. He was a Captain Falcon model swap). For some reason the BGM of mod trading was the sad music from Mario Galaxy - fittingly so, because the mod was built off of vBrawl and not PM.
