why did they choose the 3d animation its literally based on a tv cartoon they could get away with a 2d tv budget it doesnt have to be lion king quality

I do use a lot of competitive slang when discussing games, but I'm not really a competitive player as much as a hyper-attentive player. I generally prefer the funny wacky stages and using items, but I also like to understand and learn the mechanics I'm using to play those battles.
I finally finished watching Rocko - glad I chose it of all shows. It has some REALLY high highs, and even the lows aren't "frustrating/mean/painful episodes" as much just "less funny than usual episodes"
I watched Static Cling long before I decided to binge the series and honestly now I've rewatched it's a lot funnier than I remember, (in part because I now know these characters better - so I can understand the irony of once-progressive Rocko becoming a little bitter like Ed after being isolated in space for example)
I kinda understand why people prefer Ultimate over NASB, but I don't really get why people act like it's "night and day" or extremely obvious/objective that Ultimate is better.
Friday's SMSB fighter job is one I'm looking forward to - I think everyone's going to have someone they can bring to the table for it, and it covers probably the biggest untapped mine of the series in the roster.
I think if I was to redo Smash's take on custom moves, I'd design them exclusively and explicitly for casual play - those base 4 special moves make up a solid fighting character with strengths and weaknesses, but the alternate versions are crazy source material fanservice that isn't really balanced or based on a playstyle - made for button mashers and lovers of busy screens above all - for example, Captain Falcon jumping into a Blue Falcon to ram it into foes and explode, doesn't fit his playstyle, and there aren't many downsides to just lingering in the seat, but it's cool and nostalgic so here it is in the customs. That way the "he did the thing" crowd is statisfied, but competitive or just attentive players used/attached to the old movesets are satisfied too. A lot of Ultimate and to a lesser extent 3DS/Wii U's newcomers would probably have their default specials changed to alternates.

IMO Waluigi would be a great protagonist for a new Puzzle League - a conniving backstabber is the perfect mascot for a heated Vs. puzzle game.
I love everything about Satan in Antonblast - his design, his description as "flamboyant", his motivation being just that he's jealous of Anton being more red than him, how they coloured him exactly perfectly for said motivation, the fact he's just called Satan and not a euphemism or pun, being voiced by the "I know what sex is" guy

I think something that would go a long way in making people take the overall platform fighter genre seriously is another game that's based on an established IP but not a crossover.
I find it kinda funny how the push for retro-styled graphics mostly comes from younger developers, while people who developed or played games in the 8-/16-bit era are just kinda watching and scratching their heads.
I don't really understand why Smash fans are so obsessed with veteran revamps.
I don't know if anyone here, specifically of the Br*tish variety, remembers a show called "Chute!" - but basically, they aired memes on public television. That was the entire show. They even had Neil Cicierega's Potter Puppet Pals on it.
I think it is highly likely the next Smash game will try to focus more on competitive play (it's the only - or at the very least, least specific - audience that Ultimate can really be topped for; competitive players prefer having less matchups so it makes sense from a development/budget perspective; every other platform fighter is trying to appeal to this audience above all; and the content of the last few challenger packs like the hard CPUs and simple stages seems to be hinting at it like how a lot of Ultimate's content was hinted at in the last few DLC packs of 3DS & Wii U), but I don't really have confidence in Sakurai and his team pulling it off well.

They're probably in the right, but either way Johnny Depp supporters are really annoying.
I kinda like the idea of making some of the black box NES characters like Bubbles; ROB; and the Wild Gunmen (just without the guns) part of the Mario universe - not as special crossovers, but just new regular cast members.
Honestly I think the Iron Giant in MVS makes perfect sense - at least compared to his Ready Player One technically-cameo - since, unlike the vague "make your own story up" nature and exaggeratedly aggressive mascots of Smash, MVS is pretty explicitly a fun, silly sport in-universe with wisecracking characters trying to get a rise out of one another with no ill will.

It's kinda wild how corporations do so much shady stuff that you can make up ridiculous allegations like "KFC puts rats in deep friers" or "Disney blatantly ripped off an anime" and not only have people near-universally believe you, but also move on with their day as if it's just a change in weather.
If we ever remove Wario Waft from SMSB, I'll probably do a job for a new, non-special, gross-out move for Wario.
They've given him a helicopter and motorcycle, they've pitted him against killer robots, so I think the natural next step for the Postman Pat franchise is the apocalyptic wasteland story: Post-Man Pat.
If Ashley got in Smash I'd want Red to play a heavy role in her moveset.

Two things that annoy me when it comes to music in creation threads are:
1. songs being added without considering if there's a fitting stage (particularly for things like Mario boss music)
2. Song additions being listed as remixes but not actually linking to remixes.
This won't make sense if you weren't around for the original credit card memes
Got around to watching the MVS teailer and... wow, still not confident about the gameplay but I wish Smash was this unabashedly silly and willing to show interactions.
The Models Resource will be getting tons of traffic once colour 3D printers become affordable, I can say that much.
Smash hype absolutely broke me so I appreciate the "hey, this guy's here too!" approach NASB and MVS are going for. Makes the reveals less special in the spectacle way, but a lot more special in almost every other way - when you're not being told a character is the most important moment in history since V-Day you can respect the picks you wouldn't have gone with much more.
I kinda feel that Corneria should have an equivalent in SMSB alongside Temple given it's kinda got the same "perfect casual stage" reputation, but its layout is so non-abstract and specifically based on Star Fox that it'd be nearly impossible to find an equivalent in the Mario universe. Like, you could probably reshape something like Penny's helicopter or a Sunshine Airport plane to fit, but it'd still be awkward and there aren't enough options to justify doing a whole stage job specifcally for Cornera. -
