I think humour and especially memes aren't a very good way to transfer currently ongoing news, because you have to cling on the funniest part, which is usually also the pettiest, and thus you end up with people thinking China's big crime was banning a few movies and not uh... y'know... the concentration camps.

I never really get the vibe that the NASB fandom is as passionate about Rocko as you'd think from a glance. I only really see him mentioned as part of a checklist than as a character people actually want; nobody ever ponders the thought of Heffer or Filburt like they do Jorgen von Strangle and Vexus; and most propositions for new Rocko content are based entirely on what you'd know about the show from just the intro and a skim through the Wikipedia summary, which is a right shame. I get that most of the casual NASB fandom is about my age and therefore Rocko was before their time, but it's a great show and it really sucks to see it get slowly forgotten.

While I'd be the first to admit he wouldn't really be a justifiable pick within the average 20-or-so character fighter roster, or even a slightly bigger 30-to-40 character fighter roster, it would be great if Itchy was in a 50-or-so+ character Disney platform fighter if only to see him fight Mickey. I don't think he'd be that hard to censor either, remove the gore and even then Itchy is very distinguishable from a Jerry or Wile E. in personality and tools of the trade.

However, if the Disney fighter only used more mature acquired IPs or was focused on all the Fox sitcoms, I feel Itchy would be a must and a higher priority for Simpsons rep than even Lisa and Marge. Should go without saying in the case of a solely-Simpsons fighter, in that case he'd be as obvious to include as Link or Samus in Smash.

Jigglypuff, Ivysaur, and Squirtle were the best Pokémon picks in Smash history IMO. Incineroar was a good one too, but only really because the alternate was Decidueye.

I like the idea that if Sonic was to get more characters in Smash, they'd mix and match the designs - so maybe Classic Sonic and Tails but Modern Knuckles and Eggman for example.

NASB voice mods are weird because they tend to only have voices for specials and strong attacks, so the characters are basically pitch silent until neutral ends, at which point they start screeching like banshees rapidly.

I do wonder what the reception to SMSB would be if it were a real game.

I have no clue if people would like the reskinned stages and especially fighters - I guess it'd depend on whether you're talking to the "character" crowd or the "function" crowd.
I can't really imagine the open acknowledgement of Hotel Mario; the Super Show; the DKC cartoon; and such being recieved negatively. In fact, I can see it being this game's "Sans" moment if anything.
Character trailers not being used would probably be disliked but understood, given that it's just one world this is based in.
The guest fighters, when we get to them, could very well become the most divisive thing in Smash since wavedashing. There is a strong posibility we could get Shrek; Ronald McDonald; SpongeBob; or Gru (or even all 4) in the DLC but only one chance for Link or Kirby, and I can see why that'd upset people - but I can also get why people would love that
Sonic being a stage cameo will not go down well. At all.
Mii Heads are gonna be perfect meme fuel.
Timber will absolutely spawn conspiracy theories about Banjo and Conker being in (They won't, at least not in base game in the case of Banjo. Conker's a no-hoper though.)
Unless we get Pauline in the Ally Contact list later, King Boo will probably be the Waluigi/Isaac-tier disconfirm
A lot of people are gonna stick to Ultimate, but it'll probably be the reverse case from Melee & Brawl with casual fans sticking to the earlier game while Nintendo devotees and competitive players try the new one (assuming the gameplay tweaks I have in mind are achieved)

Next Friday's SMSB fighter job is gonna be a good one - one I think may be on the back of the minds of many of the participants. All I will say from here (unless someone tries to rattle it out of me) is that we did disconfirm what is probably the second (if not) biggest contender for this job quite early into the thread.

If Smash was to introduce seperate strong and light buttons, I feel charging like Smash attacks should be a variable thing per strong move like how rapid and triple jabs are. So, for example, Mario's strong forward air would be chargable but not his down ground strong.

Mother 3 is the only example I can think of where a game turning the edge to 11 between instalments worked - and that's only really because, for the most part, it was fully sincere about its dark themes and the impact they have on the characters in the universe, not just trying to be cool or shock people. Having a rotating cast and only really being connected by the prior games' villains also helps, I don't think I'd take a story as dark as Mother 3's seriously with Ness or Ninten and their respective friends.
