Hot take: Even though I think Garten of Banban is 99% likely to be satire, I think the Banban gang are more well designed as characters than the Poppy Playtime toys. They look cuter and more kindergarten-suitable in 2D than than the Playtime toys' "cute" forms (Huggy Wuggy's non-violent form always looked more to me like a 90s Nicktoons character than the Mr. Potato Head/Teddy Ruxpin context the game implies), but also don't need much tweaking besides textures and lighting to be scary in 3D, it's kinda clever really.

To be fair, you don't need a very high IQ to understand that wife-beating is bad. The immorality is extremely obvious, and only without a solid moral conscience could the depravity of such an act go straight over your head. Good romantic partners understand this stuff: they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of a healthy relationship, to realise they're not just romantic - they're mandatory to all aspects of LIFE. As a consequence people who like wife-beating truly ARE idiots - of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the reassurance in the existential catchphrase "I love you", which itself is a blatant reference to the appreciation you have for your significant other. I'm smirking right now imagining one of those addleplated simpletons scratching their head in confusion as a court notice unfolds from their letter box. What fools, how I pity them.

I watched MatPat's latest Blue's Clues video, and I think I've figured out why MatPat's theories are so dumb - not because they have little evidence, but because they're trying to shock you and not actually add on to the source material. Like, "Blue is an alien disguised as a dog trying to learn about humans" is kind of a compelling, if utterly ridiculous, idea that's fun to ponder, but his ultimate conclusion is "because the alien dogs are trying to dominate the multiverse", which makes it completely laughable.
