Robotnik sounds cool and all, but I don't understand the people who get mad at his name being Eggman in the modern-day run of games.
I mean, his inventions are constantly being named after eggs.
He looks like an egg.
His most iconic inventions are named the "Death Egg" and "Death Egg Robo".
Every game since Sonic Adventure (that I can remember) has had some kind of egg-related pun.
His name was always Eggman in Japanese.

Fun fact: the reason that the Sonic R characters don't control that great is because, before they even were approached by Sega, Traveler's Tales were working on a Formula 1 racing game. When Sega asked them to make a 3D Sonic game on the Saturn with a pretty demanding deadline, they found a workaround and decided to make a racing game, since that wouldn't be as difficult or time consuming as something more akin to Sonic Adventure and they already had an engine for a racing game. So, the reason Sonic and his palls don't control too great is because they're basically F1 cars.

When it comes to fan content in official games, I think it needs to be strictly regulated.
That being said, a particular conversation in the Wah thread got me thinking: what if Eggette-the fan character interpreted from the game's Flying Battery Act 2 boss-got in a potential sequel, either as a boss or playable character, or just a small reference?

I see no reason why not. Sonic Mania is basically an official fangame. Though I'm of the opinion that Amy and the remaining Chaotix members should get in first, Eggette would be an addition I would welcome with open arms. And if Sonic Forces can reference Sanic, we can get a nod to a fan creation in Mania 2, if it's a thing.

Classic Sonic in Forces reminds me of the spindash in Sonic CD: Shoehorned in at the last minute, without any care or attention to detail, because another Sonic developer did it and it got praise.
However, Classic did add one decent thing to Forces: his adorable voice line in the Japanese dub.

In Japan, Sega Just Asked 650 Employees To Retire Voluntarily

As Sega Sammy announced it’s selling off its arcade business, the Tokyo-based game company also announced that it is asking 650 employees to retire voluntarily. With covid-19 impacting business, Sega is expecting what it calls “an extraordinary loss” during the current financial year.

I'm getting the urge to start making YouTube videos. The specific video I had in mind was to talk about bosses across the Sonic series-they really can vary greatly, from unfair trash with Sonic 2's Death Egg Robo, to boring wait-and-hit like in Spring Yard Zone, to Egg Dragoon in Generations, which is, in my opinion, one of the best bosses in the series. It's simple on the surface, yet when you take into account the different mechanics of the game and use them to your advantage, as well as just having skill, you can take down the boss in half the time of your first try.

I hope they make an update to Ultimate where you can attack Pokemon like you would an Assist Trophy. Personally I find a few of them to be a bit overpowered, and this simple change might balance it more.

The best Crush 40 song to date. I wonder if they'll ever be able to top this.
Man, this soundtrack is amazing. Misty Lake, Knight of the Wind, Fight the Knight, Titanic Fortress, Camelot Castle, Through The Fire, Deep Woods, Shrouded Forest, With Me, Live Life-every single one in this game is a banger. This is my favorite soundtrack in the series.
Oh yeah, I guess I'll also do Schoolhouse and SLW sometime this month.

Just finished my first creepypasta of many today: Maria's Revenge. Honestly surprised at how good this one was. It's not too spooky, and not a creepypasta in the traditional sense-no hyper realistic blood, no haunted cartridge/disc, none of that. It's unsettling, it's well written, and it does a good job of filling some of Sonic Adventure 2's plotholes. Would recommend to anyone who's a fan of the game.

Another take that isn't exactly hot within the Sonic fanbase, but one that needs more attention in the general gaming spectrum:
Shadow isn't edgy. He's a down to earth guy that's got a tough shell but is a softie on the inside. The only times he's written as edgy are in Shadow The Hedgehog and the meta era of the series (in which Sega is really only doing it for marketing purposes, not to stay true to his character).

The meme may have died long ago, sure, but I still really like the design of Ugandan Knuckles. He's small and round, his eyes are like a goldfish, he's an appealing shade of red, and he exaggerates parts of Knuckles' design, like the mouth, to the absolute extreme. He's cute and weird, and I just enjoy his design.
