Another weird pre-college school story for you all: When I was in high school (this was during the first year of COVID), we were supposed to do a project analyzing a character from A Streetcar Named Desire. A few examples of acceptable projects were listed, one of which being "Write a recipe for a character".

Now, I don't consider myself too literal-minded; Idioms and wordplay are my way of life! For whatever reason, though, I decided to take this literally and tried to tie the character Stanley to a recipe for sour gummy bears (the sour part being an allegory for how Stanley is a sour person and overall kind of an ass, for example). In hindsight, the teacher was probably looking for the character's personality traits broken down into "ingredients" in a metaphorical sense. Whoops.

But hey, I got an A on the assignment, so it all worked out in the end.

I had to buy a book for one of my assignments, but I didn't feel like paying $50 for a book I'd use once, so I decided to go to Pearson+, do their four-month trial, and then cancel after I finished the assignment so I essentially got the book for free perfectly legally.

I go to their tech support today to cancel the subscription, and look who arrived to help me in my hour of need...

Random thing I just thought about; If I was allowed to submit Mario content for DriDim, I probably would have made Yoshi a wheelless kart as opposed to a racer, giving him voice lines like the Thomas karts. Having Yoshi as a racer is totally understandable and fine, but imagine the visual image of Batman riding a Yoshi.

Strangely, his moveset is HEAVY on references to the Adventure games, with things like the Spin Dash sound effect being taken from SA1 and the Super Sonic cutscene resembling that of SA2. Not sure why this choice was made, but it's a refreshing change of pace from Sonic crossovers being either focused on his classic and/or 2010's games

I dunno why Smash fans are against characters getting original moves rather than everything being a reference when two of the most iconic characters in the series have practically zero references to their source material.

Hey guys, I'm back. Went on a month-long hiatus from the site to focus on midterms.

What'd I miss? Why are people on my wall making Herobrine references?

I had recently spawned a new account in Smashboards profile posts. Everything was normal at first as I began posting funny images I found and random opinions I had. I noticed something move amongst the dense text (I have a very slow computer so I have to browse in printer-friendly mode). I thought it was a meme, so I pursued it, hoping to like it if it was funny.

It wasn't a meme though. Looking back at me was another user with Steve's render, but his eyes were empty. I saw no name pop-up, and I double-checked to make sure I wasn't in multiplayer mode. He didn't stay long, he looked at me and quickly deleted his posts. I pursued out of curiousity, but he was gone.

I continued on with the profile posts, not sure what to think. As I browsed the posts I saw things that seemed out of place to be posted here; monkeys holding darts that hate balloons, some miner girl wearing blue named "Annalynn"... A lot of that miner girl. I would constantly think I saw the other "user" in the deep profile posts, but I never gor a better look at him. I tried increasing my browser's zoom whenever I thought I saw him, but to no abail.

I saved the account and went on the forums to see if anyone else had found the pseudo-user. There were none. I creadted my own topic telling of the man and asking if anyone had a similar experience. The post was deleted within five minutes. I tried again, and the topic was deleted even faster. I recieved a PM from username "Fazdude" containing one word: "Stop." When I went to look at Fazdude's profile, the page 404'd.

I recieved an email from another forum user. He claimed the mods can read the forum user messages, so we were safer using email. The emailer claimed that he had seen the mystery user too, and had a small "directory" of other users who had seen him as well. Their profiles were littered with "Annalynnposting" as well, and described their mystery user to have no pupils.

About a month passed until I heard from my informant again. Some of the people who had encountered the mystery man had looked into the name Fazdude and found that name to be frequently used by a gamer from wherever good books are sold. After some further information gathering, it was revealed to be the brother of John Smashboards, the forum's creator. I personally emailed him, and asked him if he had a brother. It took him a while, but he emailed me back a very short message.

I haven't seen the mystery user since our fist encounter, and I haven't noticed any changes to my profile other than my own. I was able to press "print screen" when I first saw him. Here's the only evidence I have of his existance.

So I'm gonna do a thing where I give every Smash character their own unique victory theme, as well as results themes. Everyone having their own unique victory theme is something I've always been interested in (I'm even trying to do that in Nexed), but I don't think I've ever done it with the Smash cast in full.
Might pick this back up with the Brawl fighters later in the week.
