I have a really fun idea for All-Star Strife's final job. I can't think of a creation thread that's done something like this before (sans Super Mario Smash kinda), even though it's one of the most defining aspects of any fighting game.
I don’t know why I’ve been in such a Club Penguin mood lately (probably because of all-star strife), but this goes way too hard. Operation Blackout as a whole went hard, but that’s a status for another day.

Seeing a lot of Super Mario Bros. X videos on the recommended YT page today. I really wanna play some of these really creative fangames, but SMBX has so many builds and forks nowadays that I can't really tell where to start.
I’m really happy with my decision to make All-Star Strife’s final character job a “submit whoever” thing over encouraging huge “grand finales” for the DLC. I’ve been loving all the submissions so far!

edit: So this seems like an origin story for Mario, just as previous leaks suggested. Overall, stellar animation, great voice acting, the baby penguin kingdom was an actually funny twist... I'm really excited!

GOD, Rayman Legends is fun. Might be a pretty strong contender for my favorite game that I first played this year.

me watching my professor make a large, important project due on the same day as our midterm exam
(kinda serious stuff behind the spoilers)
(in case you've been wondering where i've been all afternoon i've been busy with classes, meeting with tutors, and having a mental breakdown over this very class)
I don't have the time to watch a nine-hour stream, but tuning into the closing remarks of FeliciaFan's stream... Yeah. I'm convinced. This REALLY should have been a scripted video. Would have been better for both FF's critiques and their sanity.

honestly this has been ages more enlightening towards my views on feliciafan than it has brawlfan (i still respect both as people, and like i thought i agreed with ff's takes that i actually managed to watch, but this stream was just... sad.)
(probably gonna be the last time i talk about this, at least on smashboards. honestly don't want this hanging over my head rn)
decided to start watching that stream from earlier since one of my friends was watching and i have come to an epiphany
my earlier status post (plus some irl school-related shenanigans) kinda put me in a crappy mood so have this haha funni i made at like 11 pm last night
I generally like FelicaFan's stuff, and I have no problem with him critiquing BrawlFan1's movesets (especially the latter's Isaac kit) - I'm sure he'll make very valid points and I'll agree with a lot of his issues. (I also approve of him clarifying he's critiquing BF1's movesets and not him as a person, as well as discouraging anyone going out to harass him.)
That said, I genuinely cannot sit through his current stream doing so. I won't get into depth about it here, but even if FF's anxiety regarding the stream is entirely justified, the part of the stream prior to actually critiquing the movesets really has me thinking the whole thing would have been better as a scripted video as opposed to a stream.
Again, I'm interested in hearing FF out, and I'll probably watch the full version of the stream once it wraps up. It's just that the introduction to it all left a really bad taste in my mouth.
(i appreciate all the duke of dorks enjoyers in the stream chat, though; he's probably one of my favorite moveset creators rn)

(i wanna do a proper retrospective of the thread but that’ll probably be later in the day)
So I got a Pandora's Box for my birthday, which is this little arcade stick which plugs into your TV and gives you access to all sorts of retro games. Here's my thoughts on the product so far:
- Overall, it's fine. If you're a diehard retro fanatic, you're probably gonna run into something that's a dealbreaker, but for the casual gamer, it's a good enough deal.
- I got a Pandora's Box which was advertised to have 9000+ games on it, but between repeat games and modded versions of others (such as having both the regular SMB1 and a version where you're permanently invincible), the number is probably more around the 5000-6000 range. Still a lot of games, but not quite what's being advertised.
- This console has some weird things on it. Sure, you have your standard "technically illegal collection of retro games" fare, such as a ton of fighting games and big names like Super Mario All-Stars, but there's also your standard bootleg stuff. Even stranger, though, are some of the official games included; For example, the Pandora's Box I got has Mario is Missing, Mario's Time Machine, and even Mario & Wario (especially excited to try this one!)
- I'm pretty sure you can also add games yourself if you have the technical know-how, but I probably won't be attempting that any time soon.
- I think the sound comes through the hardware itself and not your TV. Weird, but okay.
