Re4 remake isn’t and will never be a good idea but a game with its setting in the style of re 7 that isn’t supposed to directly replace the old game would actually have been really good and I think that’s the direction they’re probably trying to take it in

Sorry for an overly long serious post but I think we should separate art from artist… sorta. To completely 100% forget what a problematic artist did and how there could potentially be a bias in the work would be disingenuous at best and directly harmful at worse. But at the same time you can still engage with it knowing this and seeing it’s potential flaws that could come from the biases of the author, in the same way you can think a work has poor writing, for example, in some places but still enjoy it overall.

Also this is only vaguely related but if you’re adamant about “separating art from artist” completely 100% this means it shouldn’t just be problematic creators which isn’t good because some stories can be enhanced knowing the experiences and inspirations of the creator.

Starting my marathon of the pokemon games but I wanna ask, how many of the "deluxe versions" (platinum, emerald, yellow ig, etc.) do y'all think are worth playing? I wanna play the original games in each generation even if they might be the "inferior" versions so I don't want to play the deluxe ones if it's just going to be the same thing with a bit of extra content.

One of my least favorite smash moveset tropes (I have a lot of them I hate so that’s saying something) is when moves descriptions are really general. Like a move will say something like “he hits his hand forward” and nothing more than that. If it’s a simple move then sure you can be simple when describing it but make it a bit more specific than that

I hate the trope of one person knowing a really big secret or piece of information about someone else that the other person doesn’t know and they just… never tell them even when they’re an adult for no reason. Especially when this person faces no consequences for doing so and the story frames the person who this information is about as bad for wanting to know it before other person is ready to tell them
