I feel like they should have a gender swapped version of it, have a conventionally attractive man everyone wants and he’s in a deeply devoted and loving relationship with a woman who’s an absolute gremlin. Feel like there’s some potential in that.

I think a half life movie should play up the almost B-movie like qualities of the original's aesthetic. It would also be cool to see Gordon in more of a leadership role (not in a position of power or anything, just have him take control in more situations) to justify his character shift in half life 2 since they don't have the "surrogate for the player" thing anymore

Horror and comedy genres are similar in a lot of ways like timing being a key part and relying on a something being unexpected but I also find it interesting that they both seem to have a lot of tropes that have aged very poorly. Horror movies often portray people who are seen as other as weird or scary (an example would be the disabled sister from pet sematary like yikes) and comedies kinda do the same but portray them as subjects to be mocked. (See: like every instance of a queer character in a comedy ever before 2000) It could just be a coincidence and plenty of other genres do have moments that have aged poorly but I just feel like something about the nature of those two genres exposes a lot of harmful biases of creatives. These are just some thoughts I had though.

Since I don't play as many as I would like I think I'd like to start playing at least one RPG (usually JRPG) every Christmas and Summer break and I might document it somewhere since I don't usually have like, that much motivation to play them normally. Honestly this is mostly because I have really fond memories of playing Dragon Quest V a ton when I was away from home one summer and Final Fantasy 7 on christmas day (I was at the snow part which fits but I really tried to rush through it since you know, I wanted to play the new games I got lol), and I associate those two games with those times a lot.
