It’s funny how whenever someone points out the anti-fascist message of Starship Troopers internet poisoned weirdos counteract it by saying how the book is essentially pro-fascism. It’s funny how smash has a history of just kinda making up titles for songs (like why is together we ride just called “fire emblem”) but GOD FORBID they call the English version of the psycho soldier theme anything other than “overseas version” to avoid confusion
The PSP I got is still coming in the mail and I feel a weird thing where I’m interested to try the PSP versions of some sony games I’ve never actually had any interest in before. Like I’ve never been that interested in series like ratchet and clank or jak and daxter but kinda want to try their PSP entries even though I’ve heard they aren’t as conventionally good as the PS2 entries. Same with twisted metal head on which was one of two games I got for it.
From my understanding when a character has one line they say in English in an anime it’s usually supposed to draw attention to the line in a cringey way and that’s not really possible in an English localization where the characters speak the language the whole time. Therefore I propose English dubs preserve this feeling by having characters say stereotypically white phrases. In conclusion, make Joseph Joestar say “golly gee wilikers”
I’m compiling a playlist of my favourite videos this year as I see them and as they come out but the weird part is that I don’t want one channel to be over represented and there are some channels that have good videos that I don’t want to include because the channel will probably top them later. An example is the new Defunctland video. It’s good and deserves to be on the list but he’s almost certainly going to make a video that’s better so I don’t know if I should actually include it or not because it might not be his “best”

I mean the Fist of the North Star license was one of Yuji Naka’s first games, an ArcSys fighter, a Dynasty Warriors spin-off, a Yakuza game, and pretty much a gimmicky Nintendo game. That’s a good number of bases covered there.

As a Yakuza fan I respect the influence of SpikeOut but I played it and I kinda find it a meh game

I went to the arcade yesterday with two of my little cousins and I thought a song playing from one of the machines sounded familiar. Then I realized it was the Final Fantasy Chocobo theme. I didn’t see any Final Fantasy or Square Enix branding on it so I thought “huh, weird” and decided to look it up later. Turns out the machine just plagiarizes the song and I find that hilarious

Of the games in the partner showcase I think Another Crab’s Treasure is slept on. The idea of making a soulslike that’s cartoony and aimed at a younger demographic is super interesting to me.
