Since I don't play as many as I would like I think I'd like to start playing at least one RPG (usually JRPG) every Christmas and Summer break and I might document it somewhere since I don't usually have like, that much motivation to play them normally. Honestly this is mostly because I have really fond memories of playing Dragon Quest V a ton when I was away from home one summer and Final Fantasy 7 on christmas day (I was at the snow part which fits but I really tried to rush through it since you know, I wanted to play the new games I got lol), and I associate those two games with those times a lot.

Does anybody actually like “pick the right dialogue options so someone will like you” mechanics? Like maybe you like the way the dialogue itself is written but does anyone really like the act of trying to make a character like you by picking the right dialogue options?

I think a negative way of thinking that arises a lot is that people think big events always have to be representative of issues that can be applied to their life. For example people wanted to think the depp vs heard trial was this big battle to see if the me too movement could still survive or if it applies to men when it was really just two celebrities' drama. Another example would be the israel-palestine conflict which there are a lot of people treating like the two countries are a representation of jews and muslims in america, as if those countries completely represent those races. This obviously sparks a lot of prejudice. (to be entirely fair israel does have a lot of rhetoric where they say they're representative of the jewish people and i'm not terminally online but im sure the topic of the me too movement has come up in the depp v heard trial but still that doesn't excuse this way of thinking.)

After watching Schafrillas’s video ranking all the Spielberg movies I kind of want to make a comically long video ranking all the video games based on Spielberg directed movies with stuff like Medal of Honour and Boom Blox thrown in as bonuses. Snake’s C4 move actually comes from DreamMix TV World Fighters and I’m really glad it was ported over to Smash. In DreamMix it’s really not that satisfying because it’s not a knock back based fighting game and also you don’t have any down, up or side specials so this really situational move is like half your moveset
