On the one hand, I don't see two characters from the same company being in the same pass.
On the other, not bringing him back when it's the absolute perfect opportunity to is really strange.
On the other other hand, skipping the opportunity to announce a niche, fan favorite Mario character is in Smash in some way during Mario's 35th celebrations would be an even stranger move.
Basically: If he isn't there tomorrow, he will exist in limbo until he's either in, or DLC ends and he's not.
