You know, it just came into my mind...how do we really know we will be the ones visiting their graves and not the other way round? Sad, but possible.
Yes but more often than not children outlive their parents. It only makes sense to ask this question and not the other.

Yeah, it's kinda' random.

Honestly, I'm suprised at the responses so far. I expected lots of sarcams and crude jokes. I guess when it comes to their mommies even people on the internet are ready to show their respect.
It is random. It randomly popped into my head the day I made this topic, and I couldn't figure out why I had the thought.

Why would I want to make myself sad? I don't see any other consequence of visiting my parents' graves.

No matter how my parents arent as great as other parents, I'd still visit them because I still at least had parents.
Im glad I still go to my brother's grave, He didnt deserve to be down there

Personally it pains me greatly to discuss such a subject...
But yes, and I would make sure that their ashes get spread where my parents want to be.
My grandparents are already in the mid 80s, and I don't think I'd be able to fully take the emotional agony that ensues upon their deaths.
I might even drive myself half insane over the deaths of ANY of my family members.

well of course i will. but since i dont live with my mom instead it has to be my grandmother....... she says that when she dies she wants me to keep her in the closet........ that was a joke she always says that. but on a serious note i thought the reason to go there was to pay respect for the dead. and since we've been raised by two people all our childhood, teenhood, and part of our adulthood then there is alot to be gratified about.

I'm not really sure, I don't usually do expected formalities like that, not out of disrespect, but because I usually have my own way of honoring someone after their death that means more to me than standing over a grave.

For instance, I would honor my mother by being the best mother of my abilities and showing my children all the care and love I was shown and carrying out everything she taught me by caring for me and my siblings. Alive or not, she will be in my thoughts as I raise my own family.

Depends on where they're buried, though I'm pretty sure both of my parents plan on being cremated.

meh, just talking about their death is cruel to me
how can you all say "yeah imah visit my moms/dads grave when s/hes
finally
dead...

parents deserve to be thanked, all your life long.
i think not visiting the graves of ones parents would mean forgetting them.

I most likely will visit my Parents’ Graves. Unless I've been in a horrible conflict with them soon after they passed away but I don't think that's going to happen.

Yes because it's just a time to get away from everything else in your day and remember all the memories you had together.

Like someone else has said earlier in this thread, one shouldn't have to visit a gravestone to pay respect because that's what's "normal." Everyone has their own way of remembering their loved ones. One could argue that doing an activity that you and your father/mother/parents used to enjoy doing together is more meaningful than visiting their grave.

Ofcourse i would!
I love my mom and my dad so much..
It almost makes me cry when i think about the future, when i visit their grave.. probably its gonna takes ALOT more years though..
I would visit both my moms and my dads..(divorced)..
Why wouldn't you?
You should respect your parents, you have been brought to life by your mom and dad and they raised you. without them you would be nothing..

my mothers deffinatly.

but i will never give any respect to my old man. not untill he pay the $93000+ in child support he owes me, AND quits drinking

idgaf what anyone says, my old man is a sorry excuse for a human being. he dug his own grave and cut his own ties.

if id want my children to visit me, id give them a reason to.
