Why do YOU play with Ike??

What is your personal reason? For me, he was the first person I played with when the game came out....and Ike's Theme (which is actually called Eternal Bond) Is a cool song!

I do kind of need to come back to this place though...

For me it was also the first character I played, seeing him on the DOJO!! really hyped me to play him, and I've stuck with him since then, next to other mains.
The main reason is because I like the badass, big-sword typ characters, I'm a huge fan of Devil May Cry, Onimusha, God of War...so yeah...and I should buy both his Fire Emblems, I think those are exactly my kind of games.

I pretty much always liked the swordman characters (SSB - Link, SSBM - Roy, SSBB - Ike)
usually fun to get someone at a range, and he's powerful, can finish a match quickly without too much hassle (e.g. Sonic, takes too long to kill with him/against, bit weak).

I never -actually- played Melee. But when I "played," I would be Roy because he had a sword and teh firez. Ike came in. I tried him out. I loved him. He's such a man. I like strong men. And he has a bigger sword and better teh firez.
And this semester, when I've had the time, I've been playing PoR and I have fallen in love with that Ike.

My main is actually TL but I usually have a big problem fighting speedy chars with TL so i was looking for someone with good range and huge launch to keep those speed heads at bay and picked up Ike for a try and PWNED. So I made him my 2nd main :3

If you're fighting against a competent player with fast character, Ike is usually not a god choice. Watch Sliven's fight against Blue Terrorist's Sonic. I'd say TL in better against them since his projectiles can mess up their flow a bit. Just my 2 cents.

I have to agree with this as well. I chose Ike simply because I enjoyed PoR/RD, and it worked out pretty well.

I play Ike, because he gives me a sense of pride. I've been a dedicated die hard ike fan since day one, I ordered every japanese fire emblem games, ike has always been my favourite. That is why I play ike.
