So guys

What's the correct way to hold a turnip (or any item) as as Peach and still be able to perform aerials? I faintly remember how it's done in Brawl but I feel like I definitely need to learn this if I'm ever going to become a threat as melee Peach.

Float and then aerial

Input is like: X or Y (hold button) > flick down (continue to hold button) > aerial

If you're holding a sword (or similar combat item) then don't c-stick when you're not floating. The sword lets you do Fairs and whatever without floating while still holding the sword.

Thanks :)

New question guys: I was playing around with a CPU earlier just to work on tech skill stuff. One time when it was coming back to the stage I Dtilted just as it was reaching the ledge and it got spiked. Is this a function of the move or was it simply due to crazy CPU DI into a stage spike?

Also: what's the right way to tech chase with Dthrow? Just theorycrafting while I was playing around earlier I was thinking follow the person's DI to where they land and then start crouching. That way if they normal getup I can just regrab or Dsmash or whatever, and if they getup attack I'm crouch canceling it, and if I work on my reaction time then I might be able to follow rolls to the side.

D-tilt spikes at a weird place. I don't know where it is, but that's a function of the move.

:D I swear, every five pages, down throw discussion comes up. If you d-throw a floatie, if they DI behind you, I believe you can dash attack them. If they don't DI, then you can chaingrab them, or upsmash them (have NOT gotten this to work yet), or f-tilt them (if you want style points). If you downthrow a fastfaller, they will probably tech it. If they tech away from you, then I don't think you can chase them. If they tech in place or towards you, I guess you can have a free downsmash/grab. It's better to expect them to tech than it is to expect them to just hit the ground and lie there. That's never safe.

I think that's all good information...

I think it's a meteor, but I've gotten it a couple of times against humans. Kinda like Link's Dtilt, only harder to spike with.

::EDIT:: Yes, Shrouded, that sounds correct.

How long does Uthrow chainthrow for? I've seen it used on spacies, does it just work on that weight class or does it work on others as well? I know I've been asking a lot of throw questions lately so sorry if I already asked something similar to this

On Falco/Fox, the up throw chain grab lasts up until about 110-120%, I believe, though you might not want to go that high. On Falcon, it's about 80 or so. As far as I know, those are the only three it works on reliably.

rolling is too good. I don't dash dance, I roll dance.
THIS. Too pro.

Found this... have it at, Peaches. =) I use Peach the last 3 games (we were down 0-2)
I think looking at teams matches are more difficult, because there is a lot more going on, but I can say a couple things (literally a couple):

When she teams with Fox (as I understand it, anyways) Peach is kinda supposed to tank stocks for Fox. The roles seemed reversed here, and it didn't necessarily work against you in any of the matches, it's just something to keep in mind. A good team knows what works best for them, and if this works for you, that's perfectly fine.

You down smash a lot. I think you can get away with it significantly more in teams, but in the second match that you used Peach in, you got rested for it. Be more careful with her downsmash.

The new avatar is ****ing hilarious

Speaking of rolling: roll --> roll --> grab (the Jfox combo) is still the best tactic in this game.

Ever.

Spamming roll is seriously amazing sometimes. Around once per game in tourney I'll buffer roll back and forth to get rid of my opponent's respawn invincibility. I have yet to be punished for it.

When I played Brawl, I was taught that rolling was bad.

When I came over here, I was still told that rolling was bad. And now I read all of this.

*identity crisis ensues*

probably on a platform
idk, sometimes i just feel it, like the right/best/safest thing for me to do in the situation is to roll all the way across the stage.

it's partly being experienced, partly panicking and not wavedashing or nairing OoS, and partly desperation lol
