Upstate New York Tournament Thread

I swear this region just has some seriously dedicated smashers. After coming back to NJ and playing against the people here (vanz, teczer0, eggm, HBK, magus, etc) i've realized the environment is a lot different. NJ has a very laid back attitude. teczer0, one of the best players I've ever met, is a really chill guy. Even when he loses, he's just like "meh whatever." In rochester, if you lose to someone, it's a huge deal. if you lose, everyone knows about it. we pretty much know who beats who, and the power rankings don't really change much unless someone makes a huge leap in skill. this makes losing a really big deal to us.

back to foy's post though; i think most of the people in our region have a lot of dedication to smash, and really try to show it. however, i would have to change alt's rule to "Rule #1 of posting in any upstate NY thread: Never take anything anyone says seriously. Ever. ;D!"

so it's really not just you. plus you did troll for a really long time. when that happens it kinda gets stuck in our heads that "foy=troll."

foy I love ya man, and I just want everyone to know I'm not bailing on you guys I am just real busy with school work and some lifestyle adjustments. me and jeff still play and I can't wait to get at you guys again. Foy you mother ****er you're so **** good you've improved soooo much man and I love it we've had some great times and more to come

with that said my next big event will probably be RoM3 but if anyone wants to do something before then get a hold and let me know when stuff is happening. oswego is always open to anyone who wants to comes as well

foy's ma boi. i remember BFWNY5. **** was so cash. i ***** jesse at that tourny BTW and almost beat neil to play raynex in grand finals jus in case anyone wanted a history lesson

It all started with a super close tourney set at Battle 5. You've always been a great rival, training partner, and friend. It seemed like in the Greece Coast era I was whomping on you, but after Cali and the smashpartment, fighting you became very challenging. Progress from trudging through all of the hard work and bull**** that came a long with it definitely shows in both smash and RL.


Everyone,

The music I was listening to earlier reminded me of way back before I got into smash; I never would have expected to be where I am now. Sometimes people tell me the same story twice or forget about some of the drama/craziness that goes on and I can't help but realize how unforgettable smash and smashers have been. I would love to see a big hurrah for APEX or another big upcoming tourney even if tourneys are just the icing on the cake. lolhaters! icu!

OBVIOUSLY Apex is going to be the start of the apocalypse or something, because as soon as I think I have an alternative way to get there, I get shut down.

Now, apparently, even though I DEFINITELY payed, I had received an E-mail from VGBootcamp that I had never payed.

So I guess it'd be best for me to stop trying. Lol.

Hopefully I even got one.
It's under my mom's E-mail account, but I might not have got one, which is why It says I didn't pay. But I do know it subtracted 60 dollars from my moms account :p

Still believe Sharky is pretty much guarunteed 9th on the PR. Really there's only one spot up for debate, and that's 10th.

BOOOO I had a post typed up but hit the back button on my mouse on accident, losing the whole thing =(

I think that my spot at 8th/9th (Dr Grandpa depending) is safe after my win against 1337-0, no offense to Vibe of course but I don't think he has a win to match that.

Snakeee has done pretty well lately down in NYC, I think he can be safely placed above James G and Goggles.

Dr Grandpa has been struggling of late, mostly due to lack of proximity to a Wii, he'll have to do pretty well at Apex (if he can still go =[ ) or he will at least drop down some.

I also think that Neil can be placed above Cura, given the SS3 results.

IMO the last one or two spots will go to Vibe and/or Eevee. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Vibe has beaten Eevee in tourney at least once this summer, so I think he has a slight edge over her this season. They do seem to be close, however. If Dr. Grandpa is deemed to have the results to stay on, he gets placed over them, however (at whatever spot cura decides to put him)

edit: What are the melee peeps doing for Apex at this point for transport/housing?

I've never played Eevee.

I don't even think i'm getting on, but James G said Vibe/Sharky for 10/9th, on AIM, so I put that.
I didn't even think of Eevee, either. It's definitely possible that she'll get 10th.

I'd rather have a challenge anyways.

Things that happened yesterday at work:

an old man used "salty" in a sentence when talking to me.

an 8 year old korean girl randomly called me mamapinche (mexican slang for mother****er) and then proceeded to tell me to "callate your ****ing boca". I wasn't sure how to react, but it's pretty **** hilarious now XD

What are the prospects of me getting 23rd in the Power Rankings for NY State (minus the city of course)? I think I've got a pretty good chance, and it means so very much to me.

That's completely okay as long as I am on the power rankings.
