I'd say the matchup is around 60:40 in MK's favour. Yes, you do have that chain grab release spike thing on him, but don't forget that you have to be able to grab him first, and grabbing a good MK player is NOT easy. Without the chain grab release the matchup is more like 75:25.

I don't know where you guys came up with the idea that Wario has crappy representation. So every scrub and their brother isn't playing him like MK or Snake, I can also name more high-level Wario players than I can of any other character but those two. (But maybe that's just me!) Hell, most of A-Tier doesn't even have more than one notable player, if any.

Slikvik in EC, Fiction in WC, Quik in MW, and myself and CY in SW (though FattyFatFatso and Bassem are placing well in OK now) are the ones who use pretty much only Wario in singles. DMG uses him sometimes, but he also cops out to Diddy a lot. Reflex mains PT now and will go Wario if he feels like it. Futile quit, LeoFTW quit (though I hear he's starting to resurface). Masky and Gmoney in FL do solidly, but we don't hear much about them. Omniswell just picked up Wario b/c I made him, but he still uses his alts sometimes.

That's about 2-3 players per region. You get hoardes more Diddy, MK, Snake, D3, and Marth players than that. GW and Falco are like the only charas that are GREAT that are repped less than him.

I've played good MKs and they get grabbed plenty. You must be thinking of charcters without an almost lagless tether pivot grab, then yeah for them MK is probably hard to grab. Grab release to spike is hard to land anyway since the sweetspot is so small, most just do it into Usmash/Dash,DTFsmash what have you.

Without grab release I'd say it's closer to 65:35, without grab release and eggs then yeah 75:25


As for wario being ilrepresented, I'm picking him up too so get ready...........................maybe a threat one day, more than likely won't be though. Gmoneys the man down here now for sure though (by down here I mean in Florida)

You're going to do terrible... Wario's pivot grab isn't very good

Wario will probably stay underplayed because he has to play to win so much more than other characters. Most SS-Tier chars have a move or two that is pretty overpowered and can be used without much thought. Wario though, requires constant thought and mindgames and is thus tougher to play.

Although I agree with the basic point of your post, it's not really something worth getting worked up over. There are far more annoying things that people post on the GameFAQs Brawl boards, trust me.

I think the bigger point is that the character SHOULD be doing better, but because few people play him/her/it/potato, at least at a reasonably high level of play, the character isn't doing as well in tournaments as they should.

This is definately a factor in analyzing tournament results.
