Took my lazy *** to the gym for the first time in forever today.

Not to do workouts, but to do a health check/body composition check and get a workout plan.

So here are my stats lol

Body fat: 10%
Visceral fat: 2%
Skeletal muscle: 46.3%

Feels so good man, I are superior specimen.

Edit: LOL that black guy has breasts, what a dope.

So typical, front of their upper body bulked up then no laterals or back muscles.
What black guy?

Man he was dark and had Akon in the background, and had a bandana and had tattoos.

Close enough.

ok, after looking at some 2 years ago (probably 3) I am getting unfit. :( :( :( I want to kill 25 pounds out of my system. I am 5'3 - 21 years old.(about 22)

I am in 149lb.( yeah is overweight for my height, at least I think so idk) so That in order to get "in the correct weight) I think that getting to 128lb seems to be the ideal place right? The thing is that I don't have a disjoint belly or something like that.

I found a gym near college so I may go there to see how it is go to enter a Gym and to ask some questions.

and to get the pewter badge :001:

does anyone else agree that oatmeal is the best food ever invented?
I love the smell and taste of apple cinnamon oatmeal. However, I do not like the texture of oatmeal in general. I usually just eat unhealthy sugary cereal for breakfast. I've gotten multiple recommendations to just switch to whole oats or whatever that tasteless cereal is called :/

Oatmeal eating contest, 2008. I won with 19 packets. It was like 2400 calories not counting the milk, lol
I wish I could eat that much. Maybe I'd be able to put on more weight. Also 2400 calories? Haha, damn.

I talk to my brother about lifting a lot since he kinda got a unspoken friendly sibling rivalry going on haha. He usually gives me tips... or shows me vids of other people being stupid. He sent me this link showing a puny tool and his terrible, terrible form. His back is so curved when he deadlifts. Just look at one of the top rated comments XD hahaha. Anyway, I thought it was entertaining to watch a faux meathead. Judge for yourself.

I figure the answer would be obvious, but I haven't found any support from google on this. Do you guys sleep longer if you've been exercising or doing something intensive that day? Like I played basketball on Thursday for 3 hours, and by night, I was just exhausted and crashed. I slept for a good 10 hours.

Well I have a hard time sleeping no matter what. My sleeping habits just suck and if I try to go to bed early, I just lay there until my normal bed sleeping time - around 1:30 - 3:00 AM. I go to bed at 12:00 - 1:00 but never fall alseep within the hour. As for workin out hard, I'm usually physically exhausted after and could probably nap for an hour or two. Later on during the night though, I'm awake and just physically beat.

My goals are slowly merging together.
I'm seeing results finally starting to show with my workouts, annnnd I gained 5 pounds. I don't have a specific weight goal in mind, it's at 140 now. I think I might try for at least 150.

Yay lol. :)

I think ideally it is up to you. If you feel like you are too "fat" then it's best to shed some of that off before working out. At the same time, if you don't feel that way, no problem with gaining muscle.

A beginner can get away with losing weight, while adding muscle...but it wouldn't last for long

doing both is slower but if you do one at a time fast, you'll probably feel like crap during the weight loss part. If you're new to lifting you might want to build muscle first and then lose weight, otherwise you might look kinda gross and saggy with no muscle to fill you out :)

A muscle building regime still involves some cardio and the exercises themselves are still physically strenuous obv.

You may not be sheddng the pounds at record speed, but just going in and building muscle you'll be losing fat as well. Altthough as a note, if your muscle mass is increasing your weight will go up somewhat significantly, so don't be worried if your weight is going up even though your fat seems to be subsiding.

And stuff

I just have a quick question.
Is it better to lose weight then build muscle, or the other way around?
Or should I do it both at the same time?

I'd say go with losing weight while putting on muscle. TBD is pretty spot on saying you can get away with it especially starting up. All it requires is a good diet. Take in lots of protein - depending on how devoted you are, 6 small meals a day with about 1/6 your body weight in protein. The key to losing weight while putting on weight is a small calorie deficiency. You wanna get protein and those amino acids in to help rebuild those muscles after you work out. However, the calorie deficit will allow the body to burn fat, the main source of energy storage. It will indeed take longer but it kills two birds with one stone.

The whole saggy thing o_O hahah I've seen stretch marks but never anything that drastic. I wanna see something like that now!

I guess saggy wasn't the best word, I meant more like skinnyfat, where ppl don't weigh much but have no muscle so they look kinda doughy/pasty and drown in their clothes

But yea some people do keep a lot of their loose skin around which sucks cause I hear it's hard to get rid of without surgery :(

In Ric Flair's defense...dude was like a 100 years old.
It'd be fine if he stopped ****ing wrestling like he was supposed to.

But no, we have to see this flabby, saggy, wrinkled old fossil go out there and make us try to believe he can actually compete in a match.

Cutting isn't fun. I miss bulking. I don't know if it's because I was brainwashed by watching anime as a kid but there's something so satisfying about eating all the time.

I put my cut on hold when I sprained my ankle. It's been almost a month, and I'm gonna go on a quick run to see if my ankle feels any better, or if it's still being a whiny ****.
