Going by potential hax's list is right. Going by tournament results you have to switch marth for fox and then its right.

Falcos bad matchups are honestly only marth/samus. I tthink if you play right he goes even with peach/jiggs/ic's, they are just weird and since they are even and most people don't know how to play the matchups it looks like **** in those 3 chars favor. I think falco either goes even or has an advantage on any character but samus/marth.

Why are you people still discussing Melee's tier list?
cus melee will never die.....never!!!!

plus its always good to argue about something and well tier list is a great thing to do that with.

my tier list is something like

Marth/fox
Shiek
Falco
Falcon
Peach/Ice climbers /Jigs

its really hard to pick between jig/peach/ic's for that spot cus they all are about the same on combos/recovery but jigs might be above that.

And fox/marth are the best, fox if you are a robot (not m2k robot but a real robot) and marth if your not :D

and shiek is just gay (maybe in a good way ^^) and that spot is for her/it

LOL!

Brawl population > Melee population

Brawl's population is growing.
Melee's population is shrinking.

Melee is approaching 7 years old. The tiers are essentially immovable since all the champions are gone.

LOL @ the above post.

Marth and Fox is slightly in favor of Marth.

Marth destroys Falco.

Shiek barely beats Marth.

Fox and Shiek are even.

Falco barely beats Shiek.

Falco beats Fox.

Judgeing by that: top tier is Marth.

Then Fox/Shiek/Falco.

Falco can still compete, he just loses to Jiggs and Peach.
I like this.

Aren't you the same person who is saying, essentially, TR4Q in the brawl tier list thread?

You're missing the point. Even if Melee were the greatest game on earth and Brawl were the worst, it's a blatant fact that Melee's core community is essentially gone. What good is the "best game on earth" if only 11 people play it anymore?

I was sad when Blizzard pulled Diablo 1 off Battle.net. T_T

I wouldn't speak for everywhere when you say the Brawl community is growing and Melee shrinking. If anything the reverse is kind of the case in the NJ area over the last few months compared to the period after Brawl's release, lol.

Horrible argument lol.

NE and tri-state are more melee then brawl now, I think a good majority of the south is sticking with melee.

Most pros will play melee if they can.

The only reason to play brawl is for money. Unless you're one of those rare guys who actually find the game enjoyable.

The amount of people playing a game is in no way related to how good the game is. That's a ridiculous statement.

You'll be hard pressed to find people who still play Diablo, but it was still a ****ing amazing game.

Don't do things based on other people. Do things because you enjoy them.

Did I make any comment anywhere about Brawl being better than Melee?

I just play Brawl because no one plays Melee around here anymore. Even that is beside the point; my point was that Melee tiers are not going to change. The tier list is finalized since the core community is gone.

1. I thought we were friends because we both liked Xenogears.

2. The reason why people think Marth is god is because arguably the 3 best players in the world, Ken, Azen, M2K all use Marth. And no, I don't think Marth is god because M2K is good. If he used Fox all the time he would do worse than with Marth. It's already happened. Open your eyes, ******.

1. we are.

2. Azen isn't a very technical person to begin with, he also can win with any character so it's kind of an irrelevant point.

Ken hasn't won a legit tourney since 06

M2k is just to ****ing good. If he had a controller he felt comfortable playing fox with he would probably be using fox.

But for how long? For those that think Melee is so much better of a game than Brawl, the 'core community' might not be long gone. A large amount of pro-level players still play the game, tournaments are hosted on the regional and national levels, communities are still thriving post-Brawl.

I'm sort of hard-pressed to think of pros that wouldn't go to a national tournament anymore, besides mebbe el chocolate diablo and a handful of the cok? And there are a lot of players that weren't considered pros two years ago that frequent tournaments now, and its not because they took the spots of others.

The point is that since no one is playing Melee anymore, the high level gameplay is not being developed by even 1/10th of the players that used to push it constantly, and therefore nothing will really change enough to effect tiers past what was being done this winter.

Marth is best, then Fox, then Shiek and Falco are tied for 3rd.

None of that will change from here until eternity because no one is playing Melee at a high enough level to learn something new.

I think people play Brawl because it's shiny and new, but that will wear off after a while. As a competitive community, I think we'll ultimately migrate back to Melee (or at least the people who care).

Also, Tom is a cat.

I agree that Melee is more competitive at heart... but my observation is that people will drop smash entirely before reverting back to a community that is vanishing rapidly.

Also, I should probably clarify that "core community" includes the SBR (who will not be making more Melee tier lists) and many of the top players.

lol, Isai showed up to Zhu's tourney at his house yesterday just so he could hang out and ended up playing in doubles(and then proceeded to pull out an N64 and 10 stock some kids at SSB) Not a huge amount of people actually stopped playing melee, they're just more active in the brawl community.

Edit:

Also, I should probably clarify that "core community" includes the SBR (who will not be making more Melee tier lists) and many of the top players.
The SBR doesn't care about Melee anymore because the SBR is only adding Brawl Players at this point. Of course they're going to talk more about Brawl, they're almost exclusively brawl players.

Edit Again: Tom doesn't change names nearly enough.

Triple Edit: Maybe your thinking of Matt.Zeb's Ohana Tourney RDK

I fail to see how this would be the case when the remedy is something as simple as deciding to host a Melee tourney instead of a Brawl tourney.

Look at the wild popularity of the big Melee tournaments that have been hosted this past year. Over 100 people from around the States went to the GA tourney, and even more are planning on going to the one in MA. There's others, but I can't remember all of them at the moment.

Like I said--the people who really care about the competitive community will take the extra mile to attend Melee tourneys, if that's the way the community will eventually turn.

another regional to national level would be FAST that was held over summer in Florida.

and if the problem is that the SBR has unanimously decided that Melee can no longer change, then phooey, I require a better spokesperson than Buzz ;P and maybe get some new melee blood in there, like add Mango or Dashiz or Col Bol or LoZr or Jman and Hax or Scar >:O if the problem is that the sbr defines what will live and die then you need to change the sbr

Breaking 100 for a Melee tournament isn't too impressive given that a recent SoCal event broke 300 players for a Brawl tournament. Melee is cool, but it is shrinking.

Yay SoCal?

The point is that neither game is going anywhere for a while, Buzz.

All this shows is that the amount of Brawlf@gs in SoCal is disproportionate to the rest of the country.

Or that we're fvcked moreso than I thought.
