my point was just that it wasn't the best counterargument that doodah isn't knowledgeable about kirby, because when you become knowledgeable about kirby you tend to make those statements >.>

Gimpyfish and Taj always say that their characters are garbage, but never the worst. t0mmy does, though, I guess.

Also, kirby sort of shares all the flaws that you named on pichu... pichu's just a bit faster, which is definitely in his favor.

This is about as difficult to call and as meaningful as the fox vs marth on top debate...

Actually, I brought up Taj and Gimpy cus I know for a fact that they once had a conversation about which one of their characters was the worst :laugh:

Kirby shares flaws with Pichu, but pichu really is the epitome of every problem in the game. Kirby has bad range, Pichu has NO range. Kirby is light weight and easy to combo, Pichu is lighter and easier to combo. Kirby doesn't really have a tech problem but oh god does pichu. Pichu has like the worst grab range in the game(actually, his is just slightly longer than Pikachu's and Ness' but thats it) Kirby has the 7th longest grab in the game. Its actually longer than Sheiks. Pichu does have a more versitile recovery, but it doesn't change the fact that Roy ****ing sucks. Roy for bottom tier.

Kirby's blistering speed is always sort of looming over his good range qualities I find :( His U-tilt, B-air, jab/jabs, and grab range are actually good but he's too slow to hit people :(

And I think Roy actually is bottom tier, probably near the top of bottom tier, but still bottom tier. Iunno if you're being sarcastic or not though.

Pink Reaper, those videos only help my side of the argument. Chu Dat's Pichu actually did decent against Tope's Sheik and Aho's Fox. Now show me a video of someone doing well with Kirby, because I've seen plenty of Pichu ownage before, from Chu and KDJ.

Hmmm Meta brings up a legitimate point, but they probably just lack Pichu fighting experience which is why he even came close to winning. People don't know how to handle him so it's harder for them to fight him, while Kirby's flaws are very outspoken... hmm

I might have just flip flopped here:

Kirby has better range than Pichu, a pretty solid ground game w/ his tilts, awesome spot dodge, good grab range, multi-spike dairs, KIRBYCIDE!!!

Yo, correct me if I'm wrong. I don't believe a lil pichu's got KIRBYCIDES!1!!!!!!

Edit - This argument can go back and forth forever. What I'd like to know is if there have actually been any _successful_ Kirby mains. I've heard tales about KirbyKid being amazing and the best Kirby main, but I've seen no convincing vids of him.

Nashun was probably the best Kirby out there, unfortunately he has exactly 0 vids and was relatively inactive for the last year of melee.

Of course! Just look at the "last edited" date. That's what I call proof.

Clearly, this tier list is not at all out of date because it says "2008." Anyone who says that there should be some changes, such as moving Falco down two slots, Luigi up a little, and so on is insane.

this tier list made in 2006 is horribly outdated. anyone who thinks otherwise didn't play melee competitively...or is insane

I seriously don't understand how it's not obvious that Marth is the best character in the game. Let's look at FACTS, not opinions, shall we?

Top Professional Smashers

Ken- MARTH

PC Chris- Fox

M2K- Marth

KDJ- Sheik

Azen- Marth

Mango- Jigglypuff

I listed 6 top players. Half of them use Marth, and that's not all either.

Ken mained Marth and secondaried Fox. I'm sure if he thought Fox was the best, he would have mained Fox and secondaried Marth.

Azen plays every character really, but in tournaments chooses mostly Marth to use.

M2K USED to play Fox, but he switched to Marth. He was amazing when he mained Fox, and then he became the best player in the world when he switched to Marth. THIS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE PEOPLE, despite what people say. I believe he switched to Marth because his controller was broken, but the fact that he became the best player in the world after switching to Marth is NOT just because he got better over time. It's because Marth is BETTER.

Also, the 2 most dominating players in the history of Smash are Ken and M2K. Ken being the longest world champion ever, and M2K being the current world champion. Both use Marth.

And I think the last time people saw KDJ he went all Marth rofl. I'm not using this in my argument, I'm just saying it's a funny coincidence.

Now, onto opinion, although this doesn't matter compared to what I have just said.

Marth has 1 bad matchup-Sheik.
Sheik has 2 "bad" matchups- Falco, Fox.
Fox has 1 "bad" matchup-Marth.
Falco has weird bad matchups-Peach, Ice Climbers, Falcon etc.

The most played tourney characters are Fox and Falco. Idc what anyone says, THEY BOTH LOSE TO MARTH. Fox moreso IMO. Yes, he can combo Marth, but it's nothing compared to Marth's chaingrabs. Any character that can ZTD another character off of one grab has the advantage. Even if it doesn't technically ZTD, it always sends Fox off the edge if performed correctly, where he is dead meat. Marth's edgeguarding and combos are too good on Fox. Fox can do some nasty stuff to Marth, but it's nothing compared to what Marth can do to Fox.

Same applies for Falco, although Falco's lasers help more IMO. Even though Marth has tons of ways around lasers, and his edgeguarding far outweighs Falco's lasers.

Sheik can be a pain for Marth, but even then he can do the matchup.

Marth is the best character. The facts show it.

Marth and Fox is slightly in favor of Marth.

Marth destroys Falco.

Shiek barely beats Marth.

Fox and Shiek are even.

Falco barely beats Shiek.

Falco beats Fox.

Judgeing by that: top tier is Marth.

Then Fox/Shiek/Falco.

Falco can still compete, he just loses to Jiggs and Peach.
