confirmed. Sending Supplies.
This game is going to be awesome. By the look of it, it's likely to be just as good, if not better, than its prequel. And with the inclusion of Yoshi - wow, the thought of it is impressive. I'm anxious to see what they've done with this, even though I was a bit surprised when it was announced.

When I saw the preview, I thought I was going to scream like a little school girl. Now I hope they make this game more harder for a lot of people instead of the extra levels being hard.

I dont care if they make it harder or not, I only care if it gives more freedom. I just hope mario can be alot faster and the game isn't as on rails.

ex.: skiing is easy, but because it has unlimited freedom, and you can get better and better, you never get bored of out. Galaxy, on the other hand, would be the equivalent of skiing on a shallow hill without being able to preform any tricks.

I have no idea what you are saying, I'll guess and say you want this game to be faster and perform more moves or get Stars that require those moves you must learn?

kinda, I mean that it should be doable for casual gamers, but at the same time possible to completely blaze through the levels if you're good enough and use the right tricks and moves. Basically so everyone can go at their own pace, no matter what their level of skill is. In super mario galaxy you can't really accelerate your character's speed like in super mario 64:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lc9Rvsx_a6s&feature=related just watch the first couple minutes or so, and the speed is alot quicker, due to the amount of freedom. (and you dont spend 4-8 seconds between planets waiting for a flying animation to end.)

I guess I see SM64 as Melee, and Galaxy as Brawl. But since galaxy is a single player game, and the reason for slowing down brawl was because of the whole "elitists scaring away casual gamer" idea, I dont see why they slowed down Galaxy's speed, exploration, and altered the skill vs reward factor so that high skill will get you the same reward factor as low skill.

But yeah, thats all i'm gonna write, but I can say more if you still need a better idea of what i'm talking about.

think most of you forgot 2 of thew MOST FRUSTRATING purple coins in galaxy

battle rock for Mario due to his low jumping
battle for Luigi for that horrid traction

and THE MOST FRUSTRATING IMO is the perple comet for dread naught >.<
the freaking gravity changes made it worse
and this was by far Luigi's hardest stage thanks to his low traction.

and this time incorporate Luigi into the mg2 after you save him again(lol we know its going to happen XD) his jump can bu used to reach places Mario can't, while he is on yoshi, he gets a boost to flutter jump but can't swim in the process while mario on yoshi can?

lastly bring back Luigi's running on water ability from m64ds as they could incorporate it into the game some way.

.... p.s. anyone else expect Luigi's *dark* clones to be green since Mario's are red XD?

I loved luigi's purple coins on that toy galaxy, twas actually pretty fun getting all 150 coins instead of just 100. It was disappointing when there was no special star though. >.<

I hated Toy Time's and Dreadnaught's purple coins. Took me 10 times to get finally get all the coins with both Mario and Luigi.

I loved Super Mario Galaxy... and this is from somebody who was a huge fan of SM64. Honestly, I couldn't stand Sunshine, so I was a little worried about Galaxy but I think it completely made up for it. Best Mario game I've played (which is every one except for the latest Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG).

I'm looking forward to it's sequel. I know a lot of people weren't happy that it's another Galaxy, but I figure that the formula (concept and controls) worked so well the first time, why try to change it? Not to mention that it's on the same platform, so a sequel (as opposed to a brand new idea) should be more expected. Hopefully Nintendo follows through on their promises of higher difficulty (if you can let a computer play through the hard parts for you, I will cry) and bigger and more complex planets. Dunno where the plot is going though, hahah. I wonder if Bowser will be the main villain again since Mario defeated him in the original Galaxy.

I see what you mean, though since the mech's look almost the same, I wouldn't have high hopes. Also flying pass planets is to see the Galaxy's graphics since it has the best on the Wii so far, some people are dazzled about it, and little amount of people want it to speed up.

I guess I see SM64 as Melee, and Galaxy as Brawl. Don't you mean SM64 as SSB64? :p

Regardless, both games are mostly based to casual gamers, (which I am one of). First time I heard someone not like the speed of the game, though Sunshine would be slower than Galaxy if Mario couldn't perform his slide hop to move faster, lol. At least they didn't take out the long jump. XD

Nintendo’s fact-sheet for the game indicates that:

1) “Every level is new”, allaying concerns that Galaxy 2 would recycle a lot of the first Galaxy’s content.

2) Mario can ride Yoshi in “some stages”

3) Yoshi can eat a Dash Pepper to run up vertical walls and Blimp Fruit to float like a balloon.

4) Mario can drill into planets.

5) “Skilled players will want to collect new Comet Metals, which will unlock harder levels with even more challenges.”

6) The game supports 1-2 players, though no details yet as to whether that indicates anything more than one person playing as Mario and the other assisting with control of a helper cursor, a la the first Super Mario Galaxy.

Thanks for the video! This game is looking GREAT! If it's anywhere near as fun as the first SMG then I'm positive this game will be a hit.

The only thing I'm concerned about is that the game will lose some of its luster and end up being a little more of the same.

Oh and once again the level design looks top notch.

I'm liking this look of this game. The levels looks harder, bosses looks more dangerous to fight. If there was a new power, that would be great, but not necessary.

It does look good, and seems fun, but it looks like more of the same. The graphics look great, and the additions seem cool, but I wish they could do something... more.

Oh well, if it means it's restricted to ONE purple coin challenge, it's sort of a good thing.

In Toy Time Galaxy, it took me 15 tries to get 100 coins with Mario, and I did it on the first try with Luigi.
i think the 100 coins are a lot easier once you actually know you don't have to collect ALL the coins.

after i realized this, the coins were super easy 'cause i wasn't trying to plan my movements or anything and the only stress was really leaving a path to get back to the star.

the dreadnaught galaxy purple coins though... those were a thing.

He, me too. It got even easier with Luigi, although it should be harder in theory, because you'd already done it with Mario and sorta knew how to do it.

Galaxy 2 is looking to be a bit better than Zelda 2 in the graphics department at least.

That's incorrect.

Twilight Princess is fail
Why? Because it was easy? Zelda 2 was frustratingly difficult, and just...bizarre.

TP was beautiful, and I maintain it had the best graphics on the Cube AND Wii, as I have from the moment I walked into Peak Province.

The story was an interesting twist on Ocarina + aLttP, with a gimmick like Wolf Link (I actually enjoyed the Wolf Link segments) and really created a unique experience, plus, all the dungeons were beautiful, and although I don't like them now, Skulltulas look awesome with graphical updates.

I never experienced any of that with Zelda 2, so while it may not be "fail", it certainly wasn't an overly pleasant experience.

I like the way Nintendo changed the position of the stars so it doesn't spell out UR MR GAY 2 anymore. Oh, and the trailer was cool too.

TP failed because it is a bland rehash of Ocarina of Time that fails to recapture any of the magic that game had. It's also very easy, yes, and I disagree that it was beautiful. In fact it's probably the most visually unappealing 3D Zelda ever.

I don't get what the problem is. After Galaxy, it was pretty hard to imagine where Mario could possibly go from there without a major overhaul. It pretty much perfected level / platforming design for 3D Mario, so it makes sense that they are redoing the mechanics but with new gameplay elements (like Yoshi). If they keep everything that worked before but add upon it and make it a little harder then it'll be great. After Galaxy 2 though, they are gonna need to think of something else...
Discussing 3D Mario in general I'm rather for the idea scrapped in Super Mario 64 DS where 4 people can play. I just don't think that would correlate well to offline play.

More I could write with ideas but I'm probably not getting this yet - Still looks nice. Soundtrack being a bit of a throwback from SMW doesn't hurt.

I'm certain it wasn't a rehash of Ocarina, the only music-related part in the game was Howling, there was no magic, no time-related things, different plots, lands, etc.

It might seem that way because it involved Adult Link, and the Temple of Time (Although even that was really different), etc.

I don't think any game can come up to Ocarina's standards, especially another Zelda game that follows the same type of theme, so don't compare them to Ocarina, it just isn't going to work.

Still, I enjoyed it, if you didn't, that's your opinion, but yeah.

This is easily my most anticapated title for the Wii, first-party wise. Being that I consider the orginal to be perfect, let's hope this game can live up to it's predecessor.

I can't wait for this game to come out. Yoshi has always been my favorite Mario character.
