And I still check this thread and would let you know if melee was going on if you want. Otherwise we usually just call each other and have get togethers

And depending on your skill level, i've been meaning to teach a freshman competitive smash sometime.. he has good understanding of the game but no advanced tech experience except the wavedash.

anyways brawlpro are you down for SMYM?
If you, karl, and dan go, we'll have a full car with me and geno!

Atma (and the rest of STL), please be sure to make Springfield MO aware of the next big STL event. It's a long drive but we'd certainly be willing to make it with some advanced notice and hopes of a good turnout! Thanks guys

Where in Clayton? I used to live in the Moorlands for a long time.

Thanks to Geno and Sam, I might be hosting a SSB Melee and Brawl every month with each alternating. Melee first! They'll be called HD Melee (or Brawl) Mini Series and each have their own thread. So basically every other month there will be something. It all depends on the first one though and if the venue they found would like to do it every month. So keep April 2 open for you melee people!!

I can play both! I never competed much in melee but I would play (and lose to) ranked players alot. I used to be ranked top 5 in Brawl but I haven't played much smash as of late

And sweeeet, Brawl meets every Tuesday and go to tournaments regularly so if you opt to play Brawl when you're here, there's a time and place for it.

Sounds pretty good. Be sure to let us Springfield peeps know about this, as most of us don't really check the STL thread every day. Our topic can be found in the Midwest forums, bumped by spam as much as we can!

LOL I went to Glenridge. If you are able to come to Richmond Heights (near the Schnucks') we could play sometime. Otherwise wait for stuff to happen at WashU which is maybe once every 2-3 weeks.

It's cancelling your dash attack into a grab.

Every character could do it in melee so im pretty sure every character can in brawl. It doesn't increase the grabbox but it makes the character move more during the grab. For example if snake dthrows another snake and the snake being thrown rolls forward away from snake the only way the snake can regrab is to boost grab.

Some characters boost grabs go shorter than their dash grabs so there is no point. Its most noticable like falco snake and marth

As far as Iowa tournaments, I think Jokers bi-weekly is the 19th and there's gonna be a Cedar Rapids tournament 4/2. Nebraska hasn't decided ours yet, but I doubt you'd go that far until circuit events.

Well I'm planning on hosting a big tourney in August as part of the circuit event but other than that, I'm trying to do a bi-monthy (every other month) tournament soon.

As you can see, Friday is the starting day and it will be a 14-15 hr drive again. We plan on leaving between 8-10 AM on THURSDAY. We will probably leave either Saturday night if everyone doesn't mind missing rave 2 or early Sunday if people don't want to but we will leave super early on Sunday if it be the case.

3. Housing will be at a hotel at an undisclosed location atm but we know that it will be with San Antonio and Austin people. Each group has a room I believe. This is only for Thursday and Friday, however. So we need to figure out what to do for Saturday night. Leave or find a place.

Hey guys, A.R.K. III (One of the South's largest fighting game tournaments) is coming up on April 2nd at Conway Gaming Center in Conway, AR! We are expecting at least ~120 people at this tournament featuring games such as Melee, Brawl, Project: M, SSF4, BB:CS, Tekken 6, Arcana Heart 3, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, and more! The Smash portion of the event will be run by Smashboard's own VTS and we will have a recording station available for you to record whichever matches you deem necessary (just work it out with the station manager). It's at a really great venue and we're already expecting at least 20 smashers and up to 10 TVs. The venue would easily fit 20 TVs and 80 smashers, so if 60 of you guys from STL wanna come......lol.

Anyways LinkMO and Saffy said they're coming so maybe hitch a ride with them? Contrary to what the links say, it's actually going to start around noon to accommodate smashers traveling for it. I also checked with the Little Rock, AR guys and will let the KC guys know about it too. I've no idea how to reach Rolla...
