Over time my Ike CPU has attempted things I'd never seen a CPU do before, granted that may just be because I rarely if ever play CPUs to begin with. But aside from its apparent lack of DI it has started to (in no particular order)...This is possible...but there's so much to learn from humans, how would a CPU by itself know what to "adapt" to and what not to "adapt" to. For example, why would they choose pivot grabbing and sticking grenades on people over something that most human players do like dash dance or quick grab the ledge or whatever else. I mean put it like this, that Diddy thing is really situational, it doesn't mean much. It's not even that surprising and the whole sticking grenades on people can also be situational, so can the Yoshi pivot grabbing. My point is this; most of these things we would only recognize them after we've learned them so that it seems like it was us that made the computers do this, when in reality it's most likely the computers doing situational stuff that looks like an advance tech at the moment or whatever and we attribute that to the CPUs learning.
My .02 cents
It would be funny if I'm wrong and they actually do learn...but I doubt it.
not sure if i mentioned this but most of the technical stuff i figured out by watching cpus. The cancelled dash attack thing was one of them. a ganon did it.Over time my Ike CPU has attempted things I'd never seen a CPU do before, granted that may just be because I rarely if ever play CPUs to begin with. But aside from its apparent lack of DI it has started to (in no particular order)...
- Use quick draw to recover
- Stutter step, smashes and jabs (this one makes me scratch my head)
- Throw an aerial in the opposite direction when knocked off the stage (which is mostly just us trying to smash DI but the computer just registered the command I suppose)
- Jab cancel into grabs
- Jab cancel into tilts
- Ledgedrop counters
- Walk towards/away from people and wait for attacks to punish (which isnt new but when it just slowly saunters over and charges an up smash like I've been trying to do recently to bait dodges it makes my eyebrow raise)
Just the other day it canceled a blocked dash attack near the edge into a back air, which only recently has anyone attempted to do on my wii.

Now all of this is completely anecdotal since I can just as soon easy gimp an ike cpu all day but sometimes it makes a believer out of me.
what do you mean? o.oI wonder who's wii has the best computers. We should test that some day.
I already explain they can't learn unless they have a brain. you need a brain to adapt/learn.I mean, since computers learn we face computers on different wiis, and try to see which ones are hardest.
